(UPDATE) NBC Chicago show footage of RM while reporting about Jonghyun's death

During the 5AM Morning News on Tuesday December 12th, NBC Chicago reported about Jonghyun death by using footage of BTS on "The Ellen Show". The host also said that SHINee were recently on "The Ellen Show" and the AMAs.

Exactly. There were a few reactors that kept it classy. Just saying RIP Jonghyun in a video they were already posting for example. But the way he does things is always so shady. And then you have ppl in his comments saying that he's only doing it bc ppl asked him too, so leave him alone. Like he isn't a grown ass man making his own decisions.

I mean I know what you’re saying but I can’t get upset about reactors. They are reacting to someone else’s content to begin with so there is that. Don’t you kind of know what you are getting watching these kind of videos? They want your views and viewers want to see you react? So do we get upset with the people who watch his content? Do they have a responsibility as well? Real question.

I watched DKDTV. He’s from Korea I think and he gave the view of what happened to Jonghyung from one Korean’s perspective. They said when the news first came out they thought it was fake because apparently this kind of thing happens often in Korea where they will have news that someone died and it was misreported. I also didn’t know that the police didn’t know where he was and might have had to use GPS on his phone in a heavily populated area with high rise buildings that made it difficult to locate him. Also, that you have to provide your medical history on your resume so if you see a Doctor for depression that will be seen as a red mark against you being hired.

Like I said in my reply above yours, I don't have that much of a problem with him reacting to it. It's the way he went about it. Posting REACTION!!! in the title like it was one big sensational thing or something. Making 3 videos for max viewership. I dunno it just felt really gross to me. This guy didn't even know who Jonghyun was before this. He's solely doing this for views. And yes, he's a reactor/youtuber, but there were better ways to go about this imo.

Maybe bc all of this hit me so hard I'm just extra sensitive to this kind of nonsense, i dunno.

I don't know which videos you watched but I watched a couple minutes of one and the guy literally had a friend on the phone crying and asking her if it was true and reacting while asking her, instead of either searching to actually find out or consoling his friend. i was already done with the hordes of new youtube channels literally living off of nothing but bts reactions........and then i saw the series of rip jonghyun reaction videos in my recommendation list, opened one, paused it, commented that this is distasteful, closed it, but i'm still wondering what else could be done.... i glanced at the comments, mostly "wow this is such a nice way of remembering jonghyun", and i'm like ??
thankfully that huge kpop reaction channel guy knows better, so 1:1 i guess.
