North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Trump officially met at the 2018 North Korea-United States Summit in Singapore.
The leaders greeted each other in front of a hotel at Sentosa Island and shook hands for approximately 12 seconds. Their meeting and handshake is historic as it is the first time a North Korean leader and U.S. president have met.

CJ E&M is in talks to acquire shares of Pledis Entertainment.
On June 12, industry representatives reported that CJ E&M is in discussion with Pledis Entertainment to acquire 51% of their shares.
In response, a source from CJ E&M commented, “It is true that we are working on and discussing to acquire shares of Pledis Entertainment,” and added, “However, details are still being discussed.”
Founded in 2007 by Han Sung Soo, Pledis Entertainment houses artists including After School, NU’EST, SEVENTEEN, PRISTIN, and Han Dong Geun.
CJ E&M is a major corporation that has divisions for television, film, music, conventions, performing arts, animation, and media solutions. It owns television channels including tvN, Mnet, and OCN and is a major shareholder of agencies including Jellyfish Entertainment, MMO Entertainment, AOMG, and more.

Kim Yun Jin will appear in the leading role in upcoming SBS drama “Ms. Ma, Goddess of Revenge”. The drama will air after ‘To Speak of Her’, the follow-up to ‘Secret Mother.’
This will be the actress’s first Korean drama appearance in approximately 19 years since 1999’s “Love of Three Colors” Since then, she has mostly focused on her film career, appearing in productions such as “Ode to My Father,” “Harmony,” and “Neighbor.” She has also appeared in American drama series such as “Lost” and “Mistresses.”
“Ms. Ma, Goddess of Revenge” will be the story of a woman who is falsely accused of killing her daughter as she embarks on a journey to prove her innocence. It will be a remake based on the popular Miss Marple series by British author Agatha Christie.

DIA’s Jung Chaeyeon will be playing a leading television drama role for the first time!
“to.Jenny” is a music drama that combines the heart-fluttering emotions of first love together with indie music. The drama is about a girl who fights through her difficult situation to run towards her dreams and a guy who expresses his one-sided love for her through singing.
Rookie actor Kim Sung Chul is set to play the male lead. He first debuted as a musical actor and recently gained popularity with his appearance on “Prison Playbook.”
“to.Jenny” is set to premiere on July 10.

Rapper C Jamm, who was recently booked for marijuana use alongside rapper VASCO, will be going to trial. On June 12, it was revealed that the rapper was indicted and will be held under detention for the duration of the trial.
C Jamm allegedly, from the period of February 2017 to April 2018, purchased a total of 112 grams of marijuana from a seller at the price of 16,050,000 won (approximately $14,900) across 10 separate instances.
Moreover, he is also facing charges for use of marijuana three times alongside rapper VASCO and four other aspiring celebrities during the period of May 2015 through April 2018, and in October 2017, of using 0.5 grams of cocaine.
