On February 10, MBC announced that Key will be getting married on We Got Married Global Edition, season 2.

MBC is currently staying silent about who Key’s onscreen wife will be.

Key has previously appeared on MBC’s We Got Married when he was set up on a date with A Pink’s Jung Eun Ji and has shown much interest in the show.

Meanwhile, Key and his onscreen wife-to-be will join Super Junior’s Kim Hee Chul and Taiwanese star, Guo Xue Fu, on We Got Married Global Edition, which will air in April.

BTOB Uses the ′Beep Beep Bus′ for Album Promotions

Getting ready for its comeback, BTOB officially began promotions for its fourth mini album using the Beep Beep bus.

The Beep Beep bus includes the title song Beep Beep written all over, along with a design that explains the story in the lyrics of the song. The bus also had the words, ‘Coming Soon BTOB,’ and ‘2014.02.17,’ getting everyone to anticipate BTOB’s return on February 17.

The Beep Beep bus began running on the weekend of February 8 in Seoul city, effectively grabbing attention and promoting BTOB’s comeback. Many photos were uploaded by fans after seeing the buses.

The pictures on the bus are said to be designed by BTOB’s Lim Hyun Sik’s older brother. He is currently studying animation in Japan and has received much love for creating BTOB characters during the group’s Wow promotions. He decided to donate his talents to help his brother and BTOB out once more.

Meanwhile, BTOB will release Beep Beep on February 17. Beep Beep was produced by Brave Brothers.

Lee Soo Hyuk to Join Kim Nam Gil and Others at Star J Entertainment

Actor Lee Soo Hyuk will be making a new start at a new agency.

On February 10, Star J Entertainment announced, “We’ll be helping Lee Soo Hyuk advance his unique traits, shown through his previous projects, to become a better actor.”

Lee Soo Hyuk made his debut as a model in 2008 and has since built his acting career through a number of screen appearances, including in movie The Boy From Ipanema, SBS’s A Tree With Deep Roots and KBS 2TV’s Shark.

Lee Soo Hyuk commented, “I’d like to ask for the related staff and fans’ support and hope to meet everyone again through a new project soon.”

Meanwhile, Star J Entertainment specializes in managing actors, and currently houses Kim Nam Gil, So Yoo Jin, Lee So Yeon, Lee Hae Woo and more.

No matter what happens, these are the 3 things that the members and company abide to, and it is also the promise between us members. It’s been a year and a half since debut and this promise still holds true. I believe that it would be the same in the future… The company once told us, “The road that you all have chosen… You will live by communicating with the public, receiving their love while meeting their expectations. If you cannot even keep a small promise to yourselves, how are you going to keep the many promises you make to the public?”

One of the perils of being a K-pop fan is the possibility of betrayal by people we trust. We come to know idols, and sometimes the staff behind them, through performances, interviews, and variety shows; the more time we spend with information about them, the more we believe we understand about their selves and their lived realities. Yet even as we cheer for our favorites, watching them soar to new heights of popularity and performance ability, we are aware of and occasionally confront the fact that the industry exists for one reason, and that reason is not the growth and wellbeing of the young people who are its face. The K-pop industry is fundamentally a capitalist enterprise, and it exists to generate profit. Our glimpses “behind the curtain” are often jarring, revealing an industry that does not love its idols the way we do, and that loves us only insofar as we buy the products (from their own albums to makeup, snapbacks, chicken, and more) that our faves advertise. We quickly learn that people in the industry will do whatever it takes to keep their idols relevant and moving products off the shelves.

It’s unusual, then, that in the context of an industry that values profit over people, WM Entertainment holds its idols – a 5-member boy group called B1A4 – to the expectations Baro outlines above, expectations that put humanity and trust at the center of every interaction. And it’s ironic, and perhaps a little sad, that the same company is now under fire, facing allegations of dishonest business practices while promoting the group’s second full album. Specifically, WM has been accused of sajaegi, that is, illegally buying back B1A4’s physical albums in order to increase the sales numbers that factor into music shows, where idol groups have the opportunity to win awards based on several criteria.

Omona's Princess Sohee Joins BH Entertainment Alongside Lee Byung Hun, Go Soo, Han Ga In, and More

Following the conclusion of her contract with JYP Entertainment, former Wonder Girls member Sohee has finally found a place to call her new home.

On February 10, Sohee announced on her Twitter account that she has signed on with BH Entertainment, which houses Lee Byung Hun, Go Soo, Han Ga In, Han Hyo Joo, Han Ji Min, Bae Soo Bin, Jin Goo, Lee Won Geun, Shim Eun Kyung, and many well-known stars.

Big Bang’s Daesung to Release Solo Album in Korea

After a long wait, Big Bang’s Daesung is finally releasing a solo album in Korea.

After releasing Cotton Candy in 2010, Daesung will be greeting fans with a solo album for the first time in four years. He will also be releasing a Japanese solo album as well as an arena tour, showing his full capacity as a vocalist in two countries.

Starting 2014 with the Big Bang six dome tour that entertained 771,000 people, Daesung will push forward activities in Korea and Japan as a solo vocalist while showing a brand new image to fans abroad.

From June to July, he will hold an arena tour in Japan. Starting at the Yokohama Arena on June 11, Daesung will move onto Kobe World Memorial Hall, Marinemesse Fukuoka, Xebio Arena Sendai, Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center, Nihon Gaishi Hall, and finally Nihon Budukan on July 17 in a seven city tour with a total of 12 concerts.

This upcoming arena tour is expected to attract 125,000 people and will be a larger-scaled compared to the previous tours.

In early 2013, Daesung released his Japanese solo album, D’scover and rose to number two on Oricon’s Weekly Charts. He also successfully completed his D-Lite D’scover Tour 2013 in Japan solo tour with 20 cities, 26 performances, and 100,000 fans.

He also released his first solo single I Love You, collaborating with famous violinist, Taro Hakase.

With his success as a soloist in Japan and as a Big Bang member, Daesung is gathering much anticipation as a solo vocalist as he gears up his Korean and Japanese solo album release and first Japanese arena tour.
