Kyuhyun to release a single with hip hop artist Joosuc?

According to MelOn's "Coming soon" list, Kyuhyun and Joosuc will be releasing a single on 31 May. Joosuc is a Korean hip hop artist, described as "underground" by Seoulbeats but he has previously worked with names like Ailee and Wheesung.

YG’s CEO Yang Hyun-suk’s high praise for CL’s new MV for her first solo debut is drawing attention in the music industry.

Yang’s comment came as a surprise to all because normally, the CEO tends to hold back on giving compliments. So when he said he is extremely satisfied with CL’s upcoming music video of her first solo song “The Baddest Female,” (which is to be released on May 28) it surprised many who heard it. Artists like Lee Hi and BigBang, who belong to the CEO’s entertainment agency, often said how “tight” he could get when it comes to giving compliments. So his overly enthusiastic comment for CL is building up expectations of the fans.

To OSEN, who on May 24 asked Yang about the MV production process, Yang replied, “Producer Seo Hyun-seung is busily working on the editing of “The Baddest Female” at the YG office right now. I had a sneak peek of the MV’s preview and I am sure that the outcome will be extremely satisfying.”

He added, “rating music and contents with a numerical score itself is not right, but the reason I want to give a high score on CL’s new MV is the strong teamwork of YG members. I can compare it to a soccer match for example. Even if a team is consisted of amazing players, without teamwork the team cannot win. So “The Baddest Female” is the result of a magnificent teamwork of YG members, and I want to give full credit for that.”

CL was only 16 when she first joined YG. For 7 years she was with the agency. The main producer of YG, who was back then a member of 1Tym, has been with the agency for 15 years. He was also the producer of CL’s upcoming song. The MV producer, Seo Hyun-seung, almost worked exclusively on YG artists’ music videos for the last 10 years. Yang Seung-ho, the stylist for 2NE1, was a student at a British fashion school until when he was scouted to be YG’s stylist almost 5 years ago. He quit his studies and joined YG.

The CEO did not hold back on giving high praises to the staff members. “The creative minds at YG compliment each other so well and the synergy created between them produced the best outcomes.”

He added, “Unlike paintings or drawing that is more of a solitary activity, pop culture contents like music and movie cannot be produced by one person’s effort. For good music you need a good producer, and a talented singer who can express it, and a remarkable music video and styling. They are all closely related, so the key aspect in a successful promotion of k-pop to overseas is the unbeatable teamwork between creative staff members and artists.”

Such elaborate comment on the upcoming song is heightening the expectations, because just before the release of the mega-hit “Gangnam Style,” the only comment Yang gave was “I have a good feeling about it.” So it is no wonder his big thumbs up for CL’s “The Baddest Female” are exciting the fans even more.

Meanwhile, CL will be making a solo debut for the first time since 2NE1’s debut 4 years ago. “The Baddest Female” will be released May 28, and the fans are highly excited for the new solo artist.

Leader 'G' of a popular male idol group known for their powerful stage performances was recently found to have left the group momentarily after declaring that he "could not promote in a group any longer." The company went through quite some trials to persuade him to come back. Although the reason for his abrupt leave is unknown, the majority of industry insiders say, "G seems to have gone through a crisis after realizing that the reality of idol life is different from what he had dreamt of. Unlike the situation several years ago, idol groups haven't been receiving the same attention, which we believe played a part in G's decision." Representatives of the agency could've given up on G but felt that his skills and talents were too good to waste and did everything they could to persuade him to come back to the group.

EXO-M's leader Kris is a Chinese Canadian and he randomly went on hiatus to Canada without consulting anyone, which made the group delay their March comeback. The rest of the members practiced without Kris while he was gone. SM then persuaded him to finally come back, which is how EXO is finally making their comeback. G is Kris.

Son Ho Young attempts suicide following his girlfriend's death

Singer Son Ho Young has been reported to have attempted suicide in his car on the morning of the 24th.

According to the police, at 4:36 AM, Son Ho Young parked his car at a parking lot near Onnuri Church, Seoul and attempted to commit suicide in the same method as his girlfriend by lighting butane gas inside his car. The car caught on fire, and as the singer tried to back away from it, a passerby noticed the fumes coming out of the car and made a call to the police for help. He was then rushed to the hospital and was treated immediately, and is fortunately said to be fine with no damage to his health.

SHINee‘s Onew is in strong consideration of joining the cast of a new JTBC comedy program.

On May 23, a JTBC rep spoke with OSEN and said, “Onew is a strong candidate for being part of a new comedy program called ‘Welcome To Noyal Villa,’ (working title) which is being produced around Kim Byung Man.”

“Welcome To Noyal Villa” will be about the stories of people who live in a royal villa portrayed in a comic, sitcom-like way. An audience of 30 people will be invited every week and the filming will occur in a theater.

According to this particular rep, Onew received offers from the staff team and SM reps commented, “We did receive the offers but nothing has been decided yet.”

“Welcome To Noyal Villa” will be directed by Kim Seok Yoon PD, who also worked on “I Live In Cheongdamdong.” The first episode is expected to air in the first week of July.

Taecyeon Wants to Get Married at 27

Recently during the filming of KBS’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook,” group 2PM’s Taecyeon revealed, “My dream is to get married at the age of 27.”

Taecyeon explained, “My parents were married at 27, so it has always been my dream to get married at that age. I think if you get married when you are young, you would be able to have a close friend-like relationship with your children.”

He continued disappointingly, “However, I will be turning 27 next year, so I think it would be very difficult to achieve this dream.”

Meanwhile during this show, Junho also revealed his dream of releasing a solo album consisting of self-written songs. He stated, “Nowadays, I am writing a lot of songs. I hope to make a solo album with my own songs, rather than JYP’s songs.”

Two Months release MV for new single "Number 1"

'Superstar K3' finalists Two Months are revealing their first single in over a year, "Number 1"!

Although Two Months' Kim Ye Rim will be flying solo with her debut album first, while fellow member Do Dae Yoon is in the States finishing up school, the new track "Number 1" will be released under the name of the duo to celebrate their 2nd anniversary with fans.

"Number 1" is composed and written by the Korean electronic-house duo the Peppertones, so check it out above!
