Lee Hi to hold exclusive live concert event ‘RE-HI’ in front of 500 fans

Lee Hi will soon be holding her first live concert event entitled, ‘RE-HI‘, for 500 lucky fans!

The 500 lucky fans that will attend the concert will include the 250 fans who received an invite by attending Lee Hi’s one-day pop up store event ‘Rosehill’ in March. These 250 fans each received an extra ticket to bring along a friend, and they’ll make up the audience for the upcoming concert.

YG Entertainment stated, “In addition to inviting fans to the concert, there will also be a special video recording and other free services for those who won’t be able to attend, but want to listen to Lee Hi’s songs.”

Lee Hi will perform her hits and various pop songs in addition to never-before-heard jazz and acoustic renditions of her own tracks at Sogang University’s Mary Hall in Seoul on the 12th.

Rapper Double K Releases Teaser for “Rewind” Feat. “Kpop Star’s” Michelle

Hip hop artists Double K released the a short teaser for his third single “Rewind” through the official CJ E&M YouTube channel.

“Rewind” will feature Michelle Lee from the first season of “Kpop Star.” Michelle was a popular contestant for her powerful voice, and after the show was picked up by YG Entertainment as a trainee but left the company soon after.

The teaser does not reveal much about the music but the music video will star “Jeon Woo Chi” actor Hong Joong Hyun and model Hyo Im Lee.

“Rewind” and its full music video will be released on May 3. Follow Soompi for more updates on Double K and Michelle Lee.

Tiffany to throw ceremonial first pitch for Los Angeles Dodgers

Many K-pop stars throw the first pitch for baseball games in the Korean Professional Baseball league, but Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany is one of the rare idols to throw the first pitch at a Major League baseball game in the United States.

She’ll be standing on the mound at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Monday, May 6 to throw the ceremonial opening pitch for the game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. Tiffany will be joining top celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Sharon Stone, Harrison Ford, and Matthew McConaughey, who have also thrown the opening pitch at the stadium.

Star Korean pitcher for the Dodgers Ryu Hyun Jin has always been a fan of Girls’ Generation, and he’ll be on the field to serve as the catcher for Tiffany’s opening throw.

As many of you know, Tiffany grew up in nearby Diamond Bar, California and many of her family members still live in the greater Los Angeles area.

“Little PSY” Hwang Min Woo Suffers from Racist Hate Speech

On May 2nd, Star Zone Entertainment who represents “Little PSY,” Hwang Min Woo, announced that they had taken action against the individuals who had published racist hate speech on their company’s website. Last week on April 25, the agency filed a police report requesting the investigation and punishment of netizens responsible for leaving hateful and racist remarks online. The very next day, it was reported that the Gangnam police were assigned to the case.

According to the police investigating the case, it all started on April 23 when 10 members registered to an internet community called “Daily Best” decided to flood Star Zone Entertainment’s home page with hateful posts.

Some examples of hateful posts included, “He’s an inferior half-breed” and “To think that people like him live here.” It was reported that 8-year-old Hwang Min Woo was shocked to have received such hateful comments.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time Hwang Min Woo has been targeted for being raised in a multi-cultural home with a Korean father and Vietnamese mother. He has long suffered bullying at school, physical violence and verbal abuse from his peers.

Star Zone Entertainment agency gave this statement regarding the matter, “When someone says something so vile against an 8-year-old child just because his father married someone of a different race, how are they in their right mind? We will taking aggressive measures to find out who the people were behind these hateful posts.”

“Little PSY” got his early start as a singer after debuting shortly after his appearance in PSY‘s ever-popular “Gangnam Style” music video. His early debut has also been a subject of controversy since he would have to be exposed to the rather harsh and demanding K-Pop industry at such a young age.

In case you didn’t know (although how could you not?) SHINee‘s Jonghyun got himself into a car accident on April 1 (it was no joke unfortunately) and broke his nose. Because of this his agency, SM Entertainment, decided that he would not participate in the promotional activities of “Why So Serious?” to focus on getting used to his restructured nose.

(Now, we could delve into the popular discussion of plastic surgery and K-Pop singers but it has been done many times before and somewhere out there some one is ranting about it now. So we won’t.)

B1A4 and Make-a-Wish Foundation make a fanboy's dream come true

B1A4 met with a patient who has an incurable disease and gave him hope and courage for life while making his wish come ture.

In order to make the wish of Shin Heewon (M, 12 years old), which was to meet B1A4, come true, Make-a-Wish Korea created an event on May 2nd, where they invited B1A4 as a surprise.

Psy brought “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman” onto the May 3rd episode of the ‘Today Show‘!

He was at the Rockefeller Center in New York City to appear on NBC‘s ‘Today Show’, performing both of his hit songs. The hosts of the show and the audience followed not only his famous horse dance, but also his new “Gentleman” dance. Host Matt Lauer, who has a very calm image, even danced along with “Gentleman”, surprising everyone. He confessed that he’d only slept 45 minutes because he’d been so nervous about the dance.

On May 3rd, Hyoyeon performed on “Dancing with the Stars 3″, dancing a routine set to Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous”, “Ain’t No Sunshine”, and “Billie Jean”. Roo’ra to promote without Shin Jung Hwan or Go Young Wook

Old-school group Roo’ra will be continuing on without Shin Jung Hwan or Go Young Wook.

Roo’ra was incredibly popular back in the ’90s, and they have announced that they’ll be making a comeback. The group will be leaving out the members mentioned due to their controversies and continue on as a 3-member group with Lee Sang Min, Kim Ji Hyun, and Chae Ri Na.

Shin Jung Hwan was sentenced to 8 months for illegal gambling, but he was released from jail after being granted amnesty. Go Young Wook has received 5 years in prison and 10 years of mandatory electronic anklet surveillance as well as having his record public for 7 years. He’s appealed the sentence.

The trio will be standing on stage on July 6th at ‘Youth Night Concert Season 2‘.
