Tiffany's Kind Personality Praised by Photographer Jo Se Hyun

Photographer Jo Se Hyun guested on the December 24th episode of MBC‘s ‘Happy Day‘ and praised Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany for her positive personality.

Reporters visited the scene of the photographer’s photo exhibit, ‘The 10th Letters from Angels‘, for the release of his new pictorial on raising awareness for adoptees and single mothers.

The photographer commented, “If we combined all of the fees that the celebrity models should have been paid for for their participation, it would amount in the billions of won (7 figures in USD). If it were not for their support, I don’t believe that the stereotype on adoption would've changed this quickly. A while ago, Kwon Sang Woo had a photoshoot with a child that had surgery for a heart disease, and he was very upset for him.”

He continued, “During Tiffany’s photoshoot, the child accidentally urinated on her. (Instead of getting distraught), Tiffany said, ‘Children’s urine is like medicine for the skin. It’s good for you.’ I realized then that Tiffany did not have just a pretty face but a beautiful heart as well. It really made me see her in a new light.”

Legal adult age reduced to 19

The age of legal adulthood is to be lowered from the current 20 to 19 under a revised civil law bill, officials said Wednesday.

The bill, which was passed by the parliamentary Legislation and Judiciary Committee last month, is expected to be approved at a plenary session of the National Assembly next month, they said.

When the revision takes effect in July 2013, young adults the age of 19 will be able to undertake contracts and other legally binding acts without the consent of a legal guardian.

According to legislation officials, the age was lowered in response to a global trend of young adults maturing both mentally and physically quicker than past generations.

The legal voting age in South Korea is already 19.

Officials said they considered the fact that adolescents of that age are able to recognize the social and economic realities of society.

I know this is a super old article from last year, but I keep seeing people talking about "age of consent" or "age of adulthood" when it comes to idols. This actually states what it is, and what it will be, because as far as I can tell there is no straightforward answer anywhere else. And when it comes to legal matters it is Western age, not Korean age. So while as it states voting is 19, and drinking might be 19 too, until July 1st you're only a legal adult when you're 20. Age of consent? Whole 'nother matter entirely. I've never been able to find a statement on that one. I think the fact that rape on victims under the age of 16 (if you are over 19) can get you diagnosed with pedophilia, and that the traditional marriageable age with parental consent for Korean girls is 16 (18 for boys), says a lot.

I just hope this could clear some questions up!

Secret to Resume Activities Without Zinger Who Is Still Recovering

Secret as recently suffered a car accident n December 11 and had to put a hold on their activities for two weeks. However, they have announced that they will resume promotions withou Zinger, who suffered serious injuries.

On December 25, S Entertainment ommented, “Starting with the ‘KBS Music Festival‘ on December 28, the members of Secret will attend the ‘SBS Music Festival‘ and the ‘MBC Music Festival‘ that follows.”

Jun Hyo Sung, Han Sun Hw and ong Ji Eun ave almost completely recovered after receiving treatment and care. However, Zinger, who has broken ribs and bruised lungs, still needs to rest. So she cannot join the rest of the group for the year-end activities.

Zinger reportedly received physical therapy last week and she is currently at her parents’ home in Kyeongki-do to rest and receive treatment there.

Secret has only began promotions for “Talk That” for about a week when this accident unfortunately took place. “Talk That” is written by the hit song writer Shinsadong Tiger nd fans are curious as to how Secret will show themselves at the year-end ceremonies.

Boyfriend sold out all 5 shows for their live “Love Communication 2012 ~XMAS BELL~” Japanese concert.

Boyfriend held 5 concerts at the Tokyo Dome City Hall from December 22nd to 24th. Each of the 5 showings for the concert sold out completely, totaling to 12,500 fans in all.

Their label Starship Entertainment said, “They sold out all 5 of their Christmas Live Concert shows, and every seat was sold out within 10 minutes“. Even though the group debuted in Japan less than a year ago, they boast of incredible popularity in Japan.

Japanese music experts stated, “Boyfriend’s Japanese activities are very noticeable among the sea of K-Pop idols. It’s not easy to sell out a venue like the Tokyo Dome City Hall 5 times for a group that just debuted.”

Boyfriend expressed, “We spent a joyous time with our fans for our first solo concert. We’re always thankful for the love we receive, and we will be a Boyfriend who continues to work hard and striving to be the best.”

To-date, PSY’s “Gangnam Style” music video has garnered over one billion views on YouTube. Every 1,000 views on the video earns two dollars.

Seohyun's I Got A Boy Comeback Message D-6

Girls’ Generation has just released Seohyun’s comeback video message. In the video, Seohyun greets fans from the music video set of “I Got A Boy”, the title track of Girls’ Generation’s fourth album, and reveals that the members of Girls’ Generation were working hard to shoot a music video with their new appearances. Finally, Seohyun ends her message by saying, “If you want to see the new us, make sure to be with us on January 1st.”

Furthermore, fans can look forward to seeing Yoona’s comeback video message tomorrow.

Girls’ Generation will also be releasing a teaser for the drama version of the “I Got A Boy” music video later today, but the background music used in the teaser will be a different song from the “I Got A Boy” album.

The teaser for the dance version of the music video for “I Got A Boy” will be released on December 28th and will feature the title song.

‘Come to Play’ airs its final broadcast without farewell greetings

After eight years of giving happiness to viewers, MBC‘s ‘Come to Play‘ came to an end without any proper farewell greetings.

The 413th episode which aired on December 24th marked the end of the long-running program. This episode was filmed prior to the show’s abrupt cancellation and as a result, MCs Yoo Jae Suk and Kim Won Hee were not shown giving any farewell messages leaving many viewers without a sense of closure.

Towards the end of the final episode, a series of captured shots showing the MCs smiling and laughing were shown with a message stating, “Thank you all for your love and support of ‘Come to Play’ for the past 8 years”, bringing the show to an end by thanking viewers.

According to AGB Nielson Media Research, the ‘Come to Play’ finale ended with a low 4.9% viewer rating. Meanwhile, competing programs KBS 2TV‘s ‘Hello‘ and SBS‘ ‘Healing Camp‘ garnered 12.4% and 8.4% viewer ratings this week, respectively.

IU comes out of hiding for Christmas

Singer IU recently left a comment on her fan cafe for the first time after she accidentally released a picture of herself with Super Junior’s Eunhyuk.

On December 25, IU left a comment on her official fan cafe under the title of “Merry Christmas.”

IU said, “How have you been? I’ve been really suffocated in my room. It’s white Christmas, but I haven’t gone outside. I’ve really wanted to leave a comment here, but I’ve also realized that there are lots of things that I can do except for leaving a comment when there’s nothing to do.”

She also said, “I’m really sorry for making you worried. I’m the one who caused trouble, but it looks like I’m the only one who gained weight. Because it’s Christmas and you’re my fans, I just wanted to say hello to you. Please be careful not to catch a cold! I’m going out soon. Please wait for me in your rooms!”

IU has often communicated with her fans on her fan cafe. It’s been about fifty days for her to leave a comment on her fan cafe since she accidentally released a picture of herself with Eunhyuk.
