JYJ Junsu‘s solo album, ‘TARANTALLEGRA‘, is seeing a lot of success despite the lack of broadcast promotions.
It has passed the 120,000 sales mark, achieving a new record on Gaon! A Gaon Chart representative commented, “XIA – TARANTALLEGRA has reached the 120,000 mark last week, and recorded the highest number by a solo artist on Gaon Chart… This is the biggest number of sales for a solo artist since Gaon Chart was established. Even though there hasn’t been any broadcast promotions, because this is an album with a variety of genres incorporated into it, it has brought in new fans in addition to existing fans.”

It’s been seven months since Joo Ji-hoon came back from army duty, with what was supposed to be a clean slate after he was busted for drug use back in 2009. And though he has successfully completed filming his first comeback project, the film I Am the King (due out in August), television just might not be ready for him to return.
Joo was rumored to be cast in the Ji Jin-hee sageuk The Great Seer, originally slated for SBS’s current season. He ended up not being cast, and there are rumblings that SBS was wary of being the Big 3 broadcaster to un-blacklist Joo Ji-hoon while KBS and MBC weren’t willing to budge, and thus pulled his name from the roster. (It’s not clear that SBS was necessarily caving to pressure, but it seems likely that the KBS/MBC stance is more fact than fiction.)
Well whatever the reason, he’s now rumored to star in a different SBS project, the 50-episode melodrama Five Fingers, from the makjang hit-makers behind A Wife’s Temptation and Temptation of Angels. But it’s not all smooth sailing, because since the possible casting announcement has surfaced, the reaction online has been quite negative. SBS has reportedly called emergency meetings to discuss the situation. No matter the outcome, it’ll be interesting to see how the broadcaster handles the online reaction.
If the hurdles clear, Joo Ji-hoon might be starring in his first drama since 2007′s Mawang (The Devil). If not, he may have to carve out a film-only career for a little while longer.

T.O.P. Media CEO Andy has unveiled his second idol group following TEEN TOP named ‘100%‘.
On June 12th, Andy, TEEN TOP, and the members of 100% held their production conference for their new joint SBS MTV show, ‘TEEN TOP’s Rising! 100% – Issue and War‘.
Andy revealed, “The members of 100% joined the company as trainees before TEEN TOP but TEEN TOP ended up debuting first. I feel that it was because of right timing that we have TEEN TOP and 100% where they are. Like Shinhwa, I hope that 100% will be a group that lives a long career.”
Comprised of Minwoo, Rokhyun, Jonghwan, Hyukjin, Chanyong, Sanghoon, and Changbum, the group is preparing for an August debut with a unique and powerful performance style that focuses on their vocals. Their debut variety show will show the boys undergoing various missions as they strive to make a name in the industry ahead of their debut.
When asked how they’ll be going about the program, TEEN TOP responded, “If we fail, the opportunity goes to 100%. Whether or not they’re our juniors, we’re more focused on getting our own names out there. We have to reach the top ourselves so we don’t have the luxury of turning around to look back.”
100% responded, “The TEEN TOP seniors work so hard so we’re not sure if the opportunities will come to us but we’re also preparing just as hard right now.”

I'm so glad that Rokhyun is re-debuting!
While pouring their heart and soul into preparing their new album, the four member group 2NE1 is planned to make a comeback to the music world later than originally planned.
On the 12th, YG Entertainment representatives told Star News “2NE1 was originally set to put out an album within this month“, “However while pouring their hearts and souls into creating an album with quality music, their album announcement date has been postponed.”
This representative stated “Currently, 2NE1 is planning to make a Korean comeback with a new album in the middle week of July.” “Lately, the 2NE1 members have been devoting themselves in the preparation of their new album and we would be really grateful if everyone held high expectations about the upcoming album.”
Unfortunately, they have been unable to dodge the bullet of the accusation that they are simply delaying their comeback to avoid competition with other popular idol groups.
In a recent survey, 2NE1 had attracted the attention of many fans when they beat out several other idol groups as the ‘Idol most anticipated for a June comeback‘.
Although they have delayed their comeback slightly while devoting themselves for the new album, it was revealed that the 2NE1 members, Sandara Park, Park Bom, CL, and Gong Minji plan to repay the fans for their waiting with even more amazing promotions.
It has been one year since the 2NE1 members have released an album with new songs.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 plans to hold their independent concert as planned in the last week of July.

TOP Media will be adding another boy group to its roster with the debut of 100% later this year. Before their debut, however, the seven member group will be featured in a reality show featuring labelmates Teen Top.

2NE1‘s Minzy has sent her fans a thankful message for the girl group’s third anniversary.
Earlier today on June 12th, Minzy updated her Twitter with a brief, “Thank U,” as well as a selca of herself. As Minzy is not wearing any makeup, she exposes a pure and bare face. While the lighting of the room seems to be giving her an orange glow, the combination of her pink-framed glasses and animated expression make for a cute selca.
As for the meaning behind her message, in the picture, Minzy is seen holding a card. The card is labeled on the cover briefly as ”2NE1′s third debut anniversary congratulatory message,” and is presumably from a devoted fan. In response to this present, a physical representation of the flood of support 2NE1 has received as a girl group, Minzy has thus given her thanks.
While 2NE1 and Blackjacks alike celebrate the day the girl group first embarked on their journey to become huge K-Pop stars, it has been recently announced that 2NE1′s next comeback has been delayed to sometime in the middle of July.
