The sequel to tvN’s popular thirtysomething-career-ladies-navigate-love-sex-and-work drama I Need Romance has landed a leading man, and it’s Lee Jin-wook (Myung-wol the Spy).
It’s the year of the macho man, and I’m fully onboard that train. (Seriously, it’s the latest *thing* — we had the flower boy, the beast man, the flower boy again (those’ll never go out of style, really), and now the soonjung macho hero. Which is to say: the macho, macho man with the pure heart underneath the layers of hard muscle (rawr).)
Lee Jin-wook tends to be hit or miss for me, depending on the drama (he’s done a bunch of lackluster ones), but I generally like him and his contradictory traits of boyish bashfulness and growly, glowerly fierceness. He hasn’t really had his definitive role yet, so maybe this’ll do it for him — he plays a screenwriter who’s caught between loving and trying to get over a longtime girlfriend. Sounds similar to the longtime relationship setup of the original’s leads; I wonder how they’ll maintain the mark of the franchise while making Season 2 a drama of its own with a fresh new cast.
The show has yet to secure its heroine, but with casting under way I expect we’ll be hearing more shortly. I Need Romance 2 will be a Wednesday-Thursday drama following Queen In-hyun’s Man, and aims for a June broadcast.

If change is feared, then there is no progression.
When attempting to learn something new, there comes a new depth of frustration. However we can only grow if we continue to learn. For the male group U-KISS, they have spent the last months in Japan and created a large impact. With the hallyu wave going hard, they threw themselves into the Japanese market and embarked on their 'First Japan Live Tour 2012' in cities such as Sapporo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Tokyo and more, striving harder than ever to become the next hallyu icons.

What they have achieved now is beyond their expectations, after eight months they're back for a national comeback with strongly beating hearts. Their desire to grow bigger in Korea encourages them to do better.
"The results from our promotions in Japan weren't as bad as we expected. After the member changes, we've encountered several hardships. Finally everything is behind us and we're showing us the completed, fully transformed U-KISS. Right now is an important time for us." said Hoon.
The release of their 6th mini-album 'DORADORA' on the 25th is especially important. One of the nation's top composer, Kim HyungSuk, helped to create the title song. U-KISS brings a refreshing music and image style to the idol concept. Listeners will be able to feel the manly charisma of U-KISS.

Ivy made some incredibly hilarious expressions on the April 24th broadcast of SBS's Strong Heart, completely tearing down the image that people had of her.
The star debuted with a sexy image, but she confessed, "I was actually born in the countryside of Choongnam" and shared that one of her hobbies was making funny faces. Comedian Jung Juri shocked the crowd when she said, "When I take a picture with Ivy, she looks worse than me."
Ivy said, "The muscles in my face move very well. Even if I have to compete against comedians, I am confident that I will not lose."
With this, the competition to make the funniest face on Strong Heart began. All the guests were asked to make funny faces, but nobody could hold a candle to Ivy.
Ivy continued, "I have been practicing for 15 years. In junior high school I tried to make the person sitting in front of me laugh by making a monkey face and found out the muscles in my face move well" and once again made a face that brought everyone to laughter.

Yoo Jaesuk's body = unf
2012-04-25 04:04 pm
A recent collage of national MC Yoo Jae Suk's hidden muscular body has been heating up various online communities.
On April 22nd, a collection of images titled Yoo Jae Suk's muscular body was uploaded, and has been gaining a lot of attention from female netizens.
The images were a collection of Yoo Jae Suk's body that was slightly revealed in various variety shows like MBC's Infinity Challenge and KBS's Happy Together. Despite his age of 40, the national MC has been known for consistently working out to keep himself fit, and the photos of him hanging on a bar or wearing a wet t-shirt reveal the beastly side of MC Yoo!
In the past, Yoo Jae Suk's concept was a weakling and was often nicknamed as the "weak grasshopper", but it seems that he has escaped this past image by building up his body. Even Kim Tae Ho, the PD of Infinity Challenge, praised Yoo Jae Suk's hard work into managing his body and was surprised by his hidden muscles.
After viewing this image, netizens gave two thumbs up to the national MC and commented, "I can't breathe", "“He is a buff grasshoper...", and "I miss Infinity Challenge".

A North Korean woman looks down at the city of Pyongyang from the top of the Tower of the Juche Idea
Since the 1948 creation of separate governments for North and South Korea after World War II, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in the North has remained behind an iron curtain, an isolated and secluded state. Our image of the country has been pieced together from pictures taken across the border at the DMZ, photographs provided by government news agencies or unauthorized surreptitious photographs taken by western photographers inside the country—until now.
In January, the Associated Press opened a bureau in Pyongyang for full news coverage within North Korea. AP’s Chief Asia Photographer David Guttenfelder—who first traveled to North Korea as a pool photographer in January 2000 to cover the visit of Madeline Albright—has made a dozen trips to the country over the past 18 months as part of the negotiating team and on reporting trips with Jean H. Lee, AP bureau chief for the Koreas, taking photos each time. Guttenfelder’s approach to showing North Korea to the world has been shaped by his long and prestigious career with the AP.

Culture Minister Choe Kwang-shik delivers congratulatory remarks during the opening ceremony Monday for the K-Arts Academy at Culture Station Seoul 284. / Yonhap
By Do Je-hae
As a historian by profession, a key policy goal for Culture Minister Choe Kwang-shik has been to promote Korea's traditional arts and alter the perception that "hallyu," or the Korean wave, is limited to K-pop and TV dramas.
Since the beginning of the year, the ministry has implemented new measures to add more depth to the Korean wave, including the opening of an ad-hoc organization within the ministry to that purpose.
The latest such measure is the K-Arts Academy, aimed at educating professionals in the entertainment and culture industry on the nation's history and traditional culture.

FANY FANY TIFFANY TWINKLE TEASER
2012-04-25 10:30 pmcr: smtown@yt
CRYING RN. the next person who comments about exo and NOT tiffany will be PERMABANNED FROM OMONA

Last year, SM Entertainment announced that they would be producing a Korean drama adaptation, ‘To the Beautiful You’, off the insanely popular Japanese comic, ‘Hana Kimi‘.
Although several names have been on and off the potential cast list, rumors started circulating last month that SHINee‘s Minho and f(x)‘s Sulli may be selected for the lead roles. It seems those rumors have finally been confirmed, and Minho and Sulli have indeed been cast as the leading roles for the drama.
PD Jun Ki Sang of ‘Boys Over Flowers‘ will be directing the drama, and it’s also been revealed that the drama has been picked up by SBS to begin airing in the second half of this year as well.
SBS had originally aimed to begin airing it as the follow-up to ‘Ghost’ but delayed it to the second half of the year instead, putting ‘Faith’ in its place.

Pledis Entertainment has announced that they will be debuting a grand 17-member male idol group by the end of the year!
Tentatively named ‘Seventeen‘, the group is made up of 17 members averaging 17 year old, who have been trained not only for the domestic market, but specifically for the international market as well. Although they’re being touted as the largest K-Pop group to date, A-Peace holds the title with 21 total members.
Pledis has revealed that they will not be going the standard route of debuting the group in Korea before advancing overseas, but rather debut a group that is ready to promote in Korea, China, and Japan right from the get-go.
After their debut as a group, the boys will be split into units to promote separately in Korea, China, and Japan with promotional tactics tailored to each country.
A representative stated, “We’ve been preparing a team that is able to promote in China and Japan for a very long time. Since they’ll be specially promoting in three countries, you can consider them an official Hallyu group. Their debut is currently set for the end of the year, and we’re planning unique music and stage concepts.”
Through Seventeen, Pledis aims to create a new genre they call ‘Asia Pop’, a genre with K-Pop colors at the forefront but switched up to the tastes of the Chinese and Japan markets.
In related news, Pledis is also gearing up for the debut of After School‘s sister group, Hello Venus, next month.
