T-ara to finally establish official fan club!

Following their high success already with "Lovey-Dovey", girl group T-ara has beaten the stubbornCore Contents Media CEO Kim Kwangsoo 30-year old decision of not creating fanclubs. Between T-ara and Kim Kwangsoo was a heated decision whether or not to form an official fanclub, but a final decision was reached recently.

T-ara will establish an official fanclub this summer!

T-ara has won #1 on the latest episode of KBS2TV "Music Bank" after not being able to grab the top spot since two years ago. Not only that, but T-ara has ranked #1 in "M!Countdown" and "Inkigayo", as well as being #1 in various music charts.

In 1982, Kim Kwangsoo began as the manager of famous singer Gim Wanseon and soon help make Jo Sungmo's succesful career. Since then, never once has Kim Kwangsoo formed an official fanclub for a singer. With a popular singer, usually there is a fanclub that comes along as well, but not in T-ara's case.

T-ara debuted in 2009 with "Lies". Several times, T-ara has told Kim Kwangsoo, "We really want an official fanclub!" But Kim Kwangsoo has resisted.

After T-ara's consistent string of hits and being active constantly, the tables have turned against the stubborn Kim Kwangsoo.

Followed by, "I thought T-ara would first have to become a group receiving interest worldwide and have a stronger backing, which is why there was no plans of establishing an official fanclub. Every opportunity that T-ara has, they would tell me how much they wanted an official fanclub."

Kim said that after "Roly-Poly", "Cry Cry" and now "Lovey-Dovey", he feels as if T-ara is a really popular girl group. "For the first time in 30 years, I've been beaten by my artists and decided to create an official fanclub for T-ara."

In addition he said, "Step by step, we'll begin to form the large fanclub that'll be ready by summer. T-ara members are still unaware that I made this decision of an official fanclub, so I hope it's a good holiday present for T-ara."

Ex-Touch leader Hanjun returns with dance practice videos

Touch's ex-leader and member Hanjun revealed multiple dance practice videos through his own YouTube channel earlier this week.

Together with revealing his own personal channel under the same name as his twitter account, he also uploaded three videos showing his latest moves with choreographies by Young J.

After Touch stopped promoting their mini album "Too Hot 2 Handle" last year, it remained silent around its members until they showed hints of coming back early 2012. Now that they're back on music shows, it was confirmed that Touch lost two members, and three since debut. The missing members were replaced by new member Jaewook as the group now moves on to be a quintet.

Many exciting TV Programs are scheduled for the Lunar New Year holiday and each major broadcasting station will be airing specials featuring idol stars. If you can’t spend the holidays with family and loved ones, then the TV can substitute and bring you laughs.

MBC will be hosting ‘The 4^th Idol Star Athletics-Swimming Championship’. Hosting the program will be Kim Jae Dong, Boom, Lee Teuk, and anchorman Oh Sang Jin and many idols stars will be participating in the championships such as B2ST, T-ara, 4Minute, MBLAQ, Boyfriend, and Dal Shabet. Be sure to catch these idol stars competing against each other in games of athletics on January 24th.

Hyoyeon’s prediction of herself in 10 years

Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon recently predicted what she would be doing ten years from now.

On the upcoming episode of jTBC “Girls’ Generation and Dangerous Boys”, the girls participated in an activity where they took the time to draw and write out what they would be doing ten years from now.

On this day, Hyoyeon wrote, “I can feel my contractions. I think the fourth and fifth children are on their way,” hinting at her desire of wanting many childen. She also wrote, “The job that I’ve wanted and dreamed of for so long”, indicating achieving her dream of being a fashion designer, after ten years.

She continued on by writing, “I’m proud of myself for waiting and coming this far without giving up”, making everyone present anticipate Hyoyeon’s future appearance as a fashion designer.

The episode will also reveal the boys’ future diary entries, with entries varying from seeing themselves performing on stage to them reflecting on their pasts.

This episode of future diaries will air on January 22nd at 7:30pm KST.

Girls’ Generation’s Sunny was named the best mentor on “Girls Generation and Dangerous Boys”.

In an upcoming episode of “Girls’ Generation and Dangerous Boys”, Girls’ Generation had a quiz battle.  The quiz looked to see which member of Girls’ Generation, after having served as a mentor for nine weeks, knew the boy she was mentoring best.  The members participated enthusiastically, with their pride on the line as mentors.

Sunny, surprisingly, got the most questions right in the intense, close match, winning the title as “best mentor”.

Korean actor stricken with Swine Flu

Korean actor Jo Donghyeok's management agency revealed on Tuesday that the actor, who had recently completed shooting for the popular Korean drama "Brain", has been diagnosed with the influenza A (H1N1) virus on Monday, reported Korean media.

"We have cleared his schedule and he is currently resting at home," said a representative from Jo's management agency.

Jo had suffered from a fever over the weekend but brushed it off as a simple cold.

He finished working on the final episode of the drama before he found out the truth about his condition, when he visited a hospital after the early morning shoot.

The 34-year-old model-turned actor, who plays a a neurosurgeon in "Brain", made his television debut in the 2004 Korean drama "Eventful Miss Kim's making a billion won".

Korea to double fines against Chinese illegal fishing

The government will submit a bill next month for a law revision that would double fines against illegal fishing, in its latest effort to counteract Chinese fishing boats poaching in South Korean waters in the Yellow Sea, an official said Saturday. 

South Korea has vowed to take tougher measures against illegal fishing by Chinese vessels in the Yellow Sea after a coastguard officer was stabbed to death last month by a Chinese skipper during a raid on a Chinese boat for violating South Korean waters. Under the revision that needs to be approved by the National Assembly, the maximum fine levied against illegal fishing would rise to 200 million won (US$176,056) from the current 100 million won ceiling. 

The revision would also allow coastguard officers to confiscate boats and equipment if they were captured being used for illegal fishing, according to the official at the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. The death of the coastguard officer sparked widespread anger in South Korea, prompting the government to announce a plan to mobilize military special forces to lead the fight against illegal fishing. 

During a state visit to China by President Lee Myung-bak early this month, Seoul and Beijing agreed to continue regular consultative meetings to resolve the issue of illegal fishing by Chinese vessels. (Yonhap)
