The first CD I ever bought was Spice Girls' sophomore album, Spiceworld, in 1997. It's the one with "Spice Up Your Life" and "Stop" on it; I can still remember pretty much all the words to every song. To some, the Spice Girls are a textbook example of a "guilty pleasure," but I've never felt guilty about liking bubblegum dance-pop or videos where a bunch of people in matching outfits dance in formation. So when I saw the shiny, happy, rainbow-colored clip for "Gee" by Korean pop group Girls' Generation, I immediately loved it.

Pitchfork Magazine, effing Pitchfork Magazine is writing about k-pop. Hyuna is in Pitchfork. I'm fairly sure the world is going to implode. But I'm glad that they picked the songs that are featured- it's a good representation of Korean pop music that is friendly to international exposure.

Singer Seo In Young will be returning with a new track called “Oh My Gosh” in mid-November.
“Oh My Gosh” is part of Seo In Young’s new mini-album entitled ‘Brand New Elly‘, and will follow her her ballad single “Wash“, which was released in May of this year. Fans are interested in what kind of concept Seo In Young will bring with ‘Brand New Elly’.
“Oh My Gosh” will be revealed on November 11th, and the rest of the mini album will be released officially on November 16th.
Management agency Star Nation stated, “Seo In Young picked out the tracks herself, and has prepared for a long time while listening to each song. More than anything, this album will capture interest as it allows you to see what kind of artist Seo In Young truly is.”
Seo In Young has recently been marked as a talented vocalist after her appearance on ‘Immortal Song 2‘ on which she has previously won first place.

Ever wondered what happened to F.CUZ after member LeeU pulled out in August?
F.CUZ released their first Japanese single ‘Never Let You Go’ in August, and held two fan meetings called ‘Last Forever’. With their debut song, F.CUZ was able to reach 3rd on the Oricon daily chart, and they hope to do just as well with their new Japanese single, scheduled to be released in December.
For those of you who don’t remember, LeeU officially withdrew from the group back in August. He explained at the time, “F.CUZ members and I belonged to different agencies during our activities. However, as time went on, the paths that the agencies wanted to take, even down to music choice, became different so they had to go their separate ways. “
F.CUZ’s agency revealed that they are planning to bring in a new member to reform the group again.

AA Releases their Single

New rookie boy group “AA“ has made their debut with their new EP, ‘Because I’m Crazy‘.
The group is a bit different from other rookie groups because they’re average age is 22. The number 22 is somewhat significant to their name if you make 22 with your fingers (holding up 2 fingers on each hand), and flip them upside down, it becomes AA (Double A). Additionally, each of the group members are also between the heights of 5’11″ to 6’1″.
AA will hold their official debut stage through KBS‘s ‘Music Bank’ on November 4th, in the mean time check out their debut EP below and remember to support by purchasing the music.

United Cube is Going to Brazil!

Cube Entertainment will make its way to South America with its first family concert on the continent following their concert in London.
While there have been other agencies that have expressed their wishes
to hold a concert in South America, Cube Entertainment will be the first
to do so.
On November 2nd, Cube Entertainment announced via their United Cube Twitter (@cubeunited)account that they will be making a visit to Brazil on December 13th!
"The first K-POP concert to be performed in Latin America! United Cube
Concert in Brazil will be held on December 13, 2011 at the Espaço das
Américas in Sao Paulo, Brazil!"
Cube artists who will be present at the concert has not yet been confirmed.

A slew of debuts today and here’s another to add to the list. QJ (Qwest J), a new solo artist, is already showing much promise.
From the beginning stages of his album production, he has worked with 7 well known composers to produce his first single, ‘Waiting’. He has been dubbed as one of the most anticipated rookie artists by legendary singers such as Kim Gun Mo, and is also good friends with the talented vocal group Noel.
“Waiting” is a smooth R&B ballad track about not being able to forget a past lover, and showcases QJ’s powerful vocals.

Just recently the group's company, Groove Entertainment, revealed their official YouTube channel and with it a few videos of the upcoming group were revealed.
The group consists of 2 vocalists, Oh Song and Kim Jungwook, and 2 rappers, Nuri and Jo Sungwoo. All members have previously worked with other artists as back up dancers, or as featured rappers on soundtracks and other artists' songs. Member Oh Song might be the most well-known of them all, seeing as he has already released a solo single, and was part of Sponge Band, a pop rock band that debuted last year. Second vocalist Jungwook is a former member of Vanhaja, and the cousin of Super Junior's Ryeowook.
Apart from the practice video, an earlier revealed music video for the drama "Big Heat" got uploaded. Member Nuri was also able to showcase his skills by having his own solo rap song.

On the November 1st episode of SBS “Strong Heart”, Dana revealed her past experience as a vocal trainer.
Jessica, who was also on the show, raised her hand saying, “I’ve received a lesson from her once.” Dana told how she’s trained Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany, Yoona, Seohyun, f(x)’s Sulli, and others, and also told one story about the lessons in the past.
She said, “All of them had remarkable vocal skills as they do now, but there was one student who was stubborn.” That student was none other than Girls’ Generation’s maknae, Seohyun. The others on the set of the show nodded their head as if they were in agreement.
Dana also revealed that although Seohyun’s image on camera doesn’t show it, she is stubborn. Even though she would politely answer, “Ah, okay. I get it,” she would then continue to do as she did before. Dana also added in kindly, “That kind of stubbornness is what makes up Girls’ Generation’s maknae Seohyun’s unique charm today.”
On another note, this episode, as Strong Heart’s 100th special, featured a heated talk battle between Kim Hyunjoong, Yoon Saeah, Song Kyungah, Kim Jisook, Kim Janghoon, Jessica, Dana, Gilme, Gwanghee, Go Youngwook, Eun Jiwon, and more.

5-member idol group MYNAME(Gunwoo, Chaejin, JunQ, Insoo, Seyong). Known as ‘Hwanhee Boys’, this idol group made by singer Hwanhee received a lot of attention, and now, they are promoting with their own name.
The team name MYNAME means ‘Taking responsibility for everything with our own name’. That’s why all the members except JunQ (Junkyu) use their real names.

Currently two top rom-com stars, Yoon Eun-hye and Lee Dong-wook, are reported as likely candidates for Wild Romance that recently announced romantic comedy series written by Park Yeon-seon, she of Alone in Love, Mixed-up Investigative Agency, and White Christmas fame.
I’m fully expecting a round of ~It’s only a rumor~ and ~S/He is considering the project, but nothing is confirmed~ declarations, because that seems to be the way casting news flies these days. But with Lee Dong-wook returning to TV screens after his two-year army service and Yoon Eun-hye making some drama choices that ended badly in recent years, I would be thrilled to see them in a cute, well-written project. And I have a lot of faith in writer Park to deliver a solid script.
The plot: The hero is a baseball player, the heroine a former judo athlete and current bodyguard. Their initial meeting doesn’t go so well, characterized by ~unpredictable bad luck~, but develops into a romance that unfolds over the course of a baseball season. The drama incorporates the standard rom-com storyline, but also encompasses a broader vision by expanding on the characters’ lives and dreams in a fun, touching way. Or so goes the PR-speak.
