Super Junior's comeback concept is ‘Ubersexual’ + more teasers

Super Junior has officially announced their new concept for their 5th album’s title track, “Mr. Simple“.

The boys had K-Pop fans buzzing over what their concept would be after unveiling a series of eclectic teaser photos over the past few days.  SM Entertainment announced that their new concept is ‘Ubersexual‘, meaning the boys are pursuing a more stylish and masculine image, but yet it’ll still be sexy and suave.

Before their actual album drops on August 3rd, Super Junior will releasing their digital single “Mr.Simple” on August 2nd at 12:00AM (KST) through online music sites such as Melon and Bugs.

King Wheesung Is A Chubby Chaser

On the latest episode of ‘Happy Together‘, singer Wheesung shared an interesting detail about what he finds attractive in women.

He said, “I told my girlfriend, ‘I like your double-chin’, and she broke up with me.” Wheesung went on to say that he prefers women with a “chunkier” style, instead of women who are too thin. He further stated, “I really like girls with a little belly and some chin fat.”

His preference didn’t seem to go over well with his past girlfriend, however, as he confessed, “We were riding a taxi together, and I looked at my girlfriend. She was so cute I thought I would go crazy. I didn’t think I could keep quiet about it. So I told her, ‘Whenever I see your double-chin, I go crazy.’”

The hosts sagely commented, “You probably mentioned one of her insecurities.”

Wheesung explained that these qualities were a personal preference, so he didn’t mean anything negative or hurtful by what he said.

Takaoka Sousuke to leave his agency after making controversial tweets

On July 28th, actor Takaoka Sousuke announced through his official Twitter that he will be resigning from his agency.

The actor recently stirred a controversy with an inflamatory series of tweets, bashing ‘Hallyu’ (‘Korean Wave)’ in Japan.

Takaoka commented, “From one tweet, it became a big sensation. I have caused trouble to people who are related to the agency. I know this is the logical consequence.” He continued, “To everyone who has supported and assisted me, thank you very much.”

Immediately after, he wrote, “I’m not hoping to be viewed as wise. I’m hoping for citizens to make wise decisions. Once again, I’m able to see a new light.”

Cube Entertainment and European expansion

Recently, representative music agencies of South Korea have showed their interest in European expansion. Cube Entertainment (4minute,etc) revealed that they had the opportunity for an expansion before, but unfortunately missed it.

The main character in Cube's European expansion is 4minute. They debuted in June 2009 with 'Hot Issue' and a follow-up song right after, called 'Muzik'. Cube explained that their Youtube videos had received so much love from Europe. 4minute fans said that 'Muzik' is their best song. It's an electronic dance song by Shinsadong Tiger and songs with the electronic genre are very popular in Europe. Because of the popularity, they received an offer of a 'Club Tour of 5 Main European Countries'.

A representative from Cube Entertainment showed their disappointment, "It was a club tour in England, France, Italy, Spain, etc. We couldn't do it back then." The reason that they had to give up on the tour is because one of their members is a minor that couldn't enter the club. They revealed, "We unfortunately gave up on the club tour because one of the members (Kwon Sohyun, 1994) is a minor that can't enter the club."

Cube Entertainment could achieve the opportunity again this year. 4minute member Hyunah's solo song 'Bubble Pop' has been chosen as 'Song of the Day' on 'popjustice.com', an UK professional pop site. And BEAST's song 'Fiction' has reached no. 63 on a German music site. They also received an opportunity to hold a 'Cube Family Concert' on 19th November in London (4minute, G.NA, etc) and become a hot news in Europe.

Why More Male Stars Opt for Plastic Surgery

Pretty boy singer Kim Hyun-joong, formerly a member of the dance group SS501, admitted on national television that his chiseled good looks are partly the result of plastic surgery. "It's both God-given and touched by a doctor," Kim said in a talk show program recently. And on one reality TV show, a panel member asked a male contestant whether plastic surgery is an option because he looks rather plain. The segment was edited out, but the episodes demonstrate that plastic surgery has become the norm not only among women in showbusiness but among men as well.

"Maybe 99 percent of all female entertainers went under the knife, and 90 percent of male entertainers as well," one well-known plastic surgeon said. "Take a close look at entertainers who took time off and then made a comeback." In nine out of 10 cases, the main purpose of long breaks taken is to have cosmetic surgery.

The most common procedure for male stars is apparently the nose job. The results vary. One married Korean Wave star is considered to be the textbook case of a successful nose job and double eyelid surgery. But rumor has it that a teen heartthrob and a rising star went a little too far in having their noses done, resulting in an awkward countenance. Another celebrity, who is both a singer and entertainer, ended up with a crooked nose after plastic surgery, triggering suspicions that he turned to a quack.

EunJung said, “Since we’ll be debuting in Japan, I think we need to have rookie’s attitude. From the beginning, we have to go forward step by step.”

The anchor then asked, “Do you feel pressured by SNSD who debuted first?”

To this, Hyomin replied, “We actually feel more thankful than pressured. I think they relieved some pressure off us.”

She added, “Because of that, we are also getting more interest and expectation from people so I think we will be able to do well.”

The drama is over, Seo Taiji and Lee Ji Ah settle their divorce

Lee Ji Ah’s agency Key East announced through a public release, stating “We offer our most sincere apologies to those who were heavily concerned in regards to the lawsuit between Seo Taiji and Lee Ji Ah. Both parties have amicably reached an agreement and finalized their divorce on July 29th at 10AM KST.”

They continued, “Because the Hague Convention needed the specific divorce procedures in writing in order to finalize their divorce in America, and because we also wanted to prevent any false rumors about their divorce from spreading in the future, we have decided to publicly release their official divorce settlement in full detail with the consent of both parties.”
