Super Junior’s Yesung proved himself to be a dutiful son by assisting his parents in opening up a new coffee house.

Back in a January episode of “Come to Play,” Yesung had stated, “As my parents were going to move to Seoul, I found them a small restaurant. However, it was difficult for my mother to work in the kitchen, so I’m currently figuring out how to change it into a cafe.”

2PM’s Taecyeon dodges questions on how he knows Jessica’s number

On July 27th, 2PM’s Taecyeon guested on SBS’s ‘Strong Heart‘ and talked about his ‘business relationship’ with SNSD’s Jessica.

The segment began with 2PM talking about how they failed to cast f(x)’s Krystal to feature in their latest track, “Hands Up“. Taecyeon said, "J.Y. Park told us to ask Krystal ourselves, but I’m the one who communicates with SM so I sent the text to Krystal to ask."

Taecyeon revealed that he wanted Kim Yuna at first but gave up after turning on the TV and seeing news reports of Kim Yuna leaving for Russia. "All of the members then chose f(x)’s Krystal, but out of everyone, Junho was the most enthusiastic about casting her."

SHAKING KRYING DYING JYJ TO RELEASE KOREAN ALBUM THIS YEAR

Boyband JYJ is finally going to release a Korean album domestically.

Although the format and date of release has not been decided, JYJ’s side said that it is targeted to “definitely be released this year” and is currently working on the music production.

JYJ’s Korean album will be their second album after “The Beginning” which was released in October last year. And recently, JYJ member Kim Jaejoong said in an interview with Sports Donga that “I hope we can finalize the release date soon, but currently it’s still unclear”, and “We want to thank the Korean fans, so we are preparing a Korean album.”

The issue that is of even more interest is that after JYJ releases their Korean album, if they will be able to appear on local broadcasting TV. The three members who sang the main theme song for drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, the song “Chajatta” was ranked no.1 on KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank” Song rankings, but they were not able to appear on the said program, creating a conflict. Then, KBS said that “When they release an official album, we will let them appear on the program” and to this, C-Jes said, “If there are no further external pressures or obstacles, please look forward to it.”

On the other hand, recently, due to the cancellation of JYJ’s participation in KBS 1TV’s “Jeju New 7 Wonders – Well-Wishes Special Program” program, with JYJ receiving the cancellation notice just 4 days before the performance, JYJ’s management will be filing an official complaint against KBS Jeju.

The secured cast for the musical remake of “200 Pound Beauty” has finally been announced this week.
The role of the cool-headed, charismatic producer ‘Han Sang Jun‘ has been appointed to actors Lee Jong Hyun and Oh Man Suk; Supernova’s Sung Je will have a special performance for when the musical arrives in Osaka, Japan.
Meanwhile, the character of the previously overweight singer, Kang Han Byul/Jenny will be performed by singer Bada and KARA’s Park Gyuri.
Other cast members include CulTwo’s Kim Tae Kyun and musical actor Yang Jun Mo, who will be acting the role of the plastic surgeon, Lee Gong Hak, while Song Young Kyu and Im Hyung Jun will be acting as President Choi, a producer CEO who strictly prefers appearance over talent.
“200 Pounds Beauty” is a romantic comedy about an overweight lip-sync vocalist named Han Byul who owns an amazing vocal talent, but was always forced to hide herself behind the curtain due to her less-than-attractive physical appearance. After being humiliated in front of her true love, Han Byul decides to undergo head-to-toe plastic surgery in the hopes of standing on stage as a top singer.
The original musical was performed in 2008 with Bada playing as Han Byul, and it later won a total of four awards at the 3rd ‘The Musical Awards’ ceremony in 2009 for the “Best Musical Creativity Award”, “Best Actress” (Bada), “Best Director Award”, and “Best Stage Art Award” (Makeup designer Chae Song Hwa).
The producer stated, “For the scene where the previously obese Kang Han Byul transforms into the beautiful Jenny, we plan to show amazing theatrical art on stage with the help of artist Lee Eun Kyul. Designer Chae Song Hwa’s drama makeup will be more delicate and naturally upgraded to the extent where people will almost mistake Han Byul and Jenny as two different people.”

“200 Pound Beauty” will be kick-starting their Asia tour in October, beginning with performances in Osaka followed by performances in Seoul, China and Singapore.

Floods, Mudslides Kill 36 in South Korea + Lee Hyori worries about her parents

South Korea’s worst storm in more than 100 years resulted in massive floods and mudslides that have killed 36 people so far.

The Korea Times reported that an additional 11 people are missing as the country’s central regions were hit particularly hard on Tuesday and Wednesday. The National Emergency Management Agency said casualties are expected to rise as heavy rain is predicted to persist through Friday.

Flood waters inundated main roads, residential areas and basement facilities in and around Seoul, cutting the power supply at 14,000 homes and leaving thousands of vehicles submerged on flooded roads.
