The Brown Eyed Girls have finally revealed a date for their comeback!

On June 21st, a representative for Naega Network stated, “The Brown Eyed Girls are currently preoccupied with recording for their new album. It’s been a while since their last album was released, so they’re investing a lot of effort into [their new album], and thus the preparation keeps getting longer.”

He added, “However, they will be able to greet their fans with a new song by mid-July. They plan to release a digital single and a mini-album right after.”

The group will be making their return after a two-year hiatus.

B1A4's leader Jinyoung is officially initiated as an idol!

It’s been reported that B1A4’s leader, Jin Young, struggled with enteritis while filming the music video for “Only Learned Bad Things”.

B1A4’s representative stated, “This past June, B1A4 shuttled back and forth between Kangnam and a studio in Kyungki-Do in order to shoot their music video. Despite his high fever, Jin Young didn’t show that he was in pain and focused entirely on the recording. He collapsed right after he completed the shoot and was rushed to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with enteritis (intestinal inflammation).”

The music video stars Baro as the main character, who acts as a stereotypical, B-blooded guy; it tells the story of a man who asks for forgiveness from his upset girlfriend.

DORASAN STATION // The smiling foreign tourists wait patiently as they queue to buy tickets at this station, the last stop a few kilometres south of the border with North Korea.

There are parents with children, young couples and wizened globetrotters standing in line in front of the cashier.

Nearby, the entry to the platform optimistically proclaims "To Pyongyang" in Korean and English, and a huge Korail billboard shouts out that this is "Not the last station from the South, but the first station toward the North".

Bae Seul Gi talks about her past, retreating from fame, and her character on ‘The Greatest Love’

Singer-turned-actress, Bae Seul Gi, recently shared her views on retreating from the public eye.

Bae Seul Gi is currently playing character ‘Han Mina’ in the drama ‘The Greatest Love‘; ‘Han Mina’ is a girl who decided to return to a more regular lifestyle after being a member in a popular band.

Bae Seul Gi said, “Although my situation isn’t exactly the same as Han Mina’s, I have thought about retreating from the public eye… When the celebrity lifestyle was tiring me out, I thought about immigrating to America – where my uncle lives- alone with my mother. One of the lines that Gong Hyo Jin’s character said was similar to my situation.”

Back in 2005, Bae Seul Gi debuted under a trio called ‘The Red‘ and quickly gained fame for her retro (‘bokko‘) dance. Since then, she released a solo album, attended various events, and even became a frequent guest on three different variety shows. Two years after her debut, Bae Seul Gi faced an overwhelming schedule that resulted from her high popularity.

The singer eventually turned to acting, which added to her stress level. She said, For someone who majored in acting, I quickly released a record. “As my popularity grew, I began to lose my mind. There were times when I had to meet activities on only 2~3 hours of sleep a day… I wouldn’t get paid without putting in such hard effort, and that bothered me a lot. I was suffering. I naturally wanted to leave my company, but instead took an interregnum with them. I was going through a slump.”

After reflecting on the similarities of her past with that of her character’s, Bae Seul Gi began to tear up. She said, “We are currently filming a flashback scene for Han Mina, which I am tense about. Because of my anxiety, my face was having spasms. During that time, Lee Hee Jin, Gong Hyo Jin, Yoo In Na, and the other members took care of me. They made me laugh to relieve my tension and we wrapped up the filming without any incident. I like Mina’s tranquil role because it feels like I’m starting anew.”

Bae Seul Gi later added, “I’m very happy that I can show off this tranquil image of myself. Through this role, I can shed my image as a ‘bokko dancer’ and transition into an image of an actress. Even though the role is small, it has given me ‘the greatest opportunity.’ I’m very thankful to the creator. Now, I am ready to start anew.”

UEE Reveals that Idol Girls r SXC 4 ur Hyungs

After School’s UEE revealed the truth about how idol girls act around idol boys.

On the latest episode of SBS’s ”Night After Night“, B2ST’s Kikwang confessed that male idols care a lot about how female idols view them. UEE replied by saying that it’s the same for idol girls.

UEE said, “Idol girls always get their makeup and hair done after the dry rehearsal. There’s no need for makeup before the dry rehearsal. However, everyone has basic makeup done before the dry rehearsals. It looks like their natural no-makeup face, but it’s really not.”

The male idols on set were shocked and replied, “It’s not your fresh faces?” and “I didn’t know!”

UEE also explained that female idols are very aware of male idols when they’re dancing in dry rehearsals. She said that even though the original choreography didn’t call for a sexy move, the girls would insert one to grab the guys’ attention.

The biggest teen stars of the 70s and 80s reunite for T-ara's Roly Poly MV

The MV for T-ara's new single album "John Travolta Wannabe" title track, "Roly Poly" will star former teen stars Im Yejin and Jeon Youngrok, who is also Boram's father.

Im Yejin and Jeon Youngrok were some of the most popular teen stars back in the 70s and 80s. The director of the "Roly Poly" music video, Cha Euntaek said that Im Yejin brings a lot of memories and Jeon Youngrok appeared as a "best of the discos DJ." The stars said they were delighted and happy to be back after 30 years.

T-ara will comeback on the 1st of July with the title track "Roly Poly". The song has an easy melody and arrangement, along with choreography which will be able to appeal to audiences in their 20s-50s as well. Unlike the previous lyrics T-ara sang in their title tracks, the lyrics to "RolyPoly" are reminiscent of the track "Night Fever" by the Bee Gees.

"John Travolta Wannabe" will have 2 new tracks, "RolyPoly" and "I Really Really Like You" along with five songs remixed from their previous album. "I Really Really Like You" is a pop-dance song composed by Beomie with an addictive bass and with synth sounds. The album is about missing John Travolta from the movie "Saturday Night Fever".

T-ara debuted in 2009 with "Lies" and have since been in an array of CFs, dramas, movies and variety programs.

T-ara will be back on July 1st and are currently busy preparing for their comeback and Japan advancement.

Girl group T-ara will be entering the Japanese market under the best guidance possible.

It was revealed that T-ara agreed to an exclusivity agreement worth 350,000,000 yen (~ $4,365,165 USD) with Japan’s J-ROCK.

Their agency, Core Contents Media, stated, “T-ara’s Japanese music distribution company is EMI MUSIC JAPAN; however, management and promotional marketing will take place under J-ROCK. J-ROCK is planning to have T-ara participate in dramas, as well as take part in MC activities, singing, and acting in films. Together we plan to mold them into universal entertainers, much like they are in Korea.”

They added, “The earlier press release which stated that ‘Smile Company‘ will be responsible for T-ara’s management and promotional marketing was incorrect.”

The girls are busily preparing for their Japanese showcase and their July 1st mini-album release in Korea.

According to SM Entertainment on June 20th, Super Junior Heechul has decided to step down as the radio MC of "Kim Heechul's Youngstreet" radio show. The official from SM Entertainment stated that Heechul's last day as the radio's MC would be on June 26th.

This decision was made because of Heechul's participation in his most recent project group formed with TRAX's Jungmo and Super Junior's upcoming album.

The new MC's of "Youngstreet" has not been revealed yet, but the information is expected to be released on July 2nd. Until then, producer Heo Geumwook stated that a different MC will be hosting the show between June 27th and July 1st. One of these MCs will then be chosen as the official host.

Young North Koreans Surfing the Korean Wave

The ‘Korean Wave’ has been big in Asia for some years, and has recently made inroads as far away as Europe, too. Naturally, North Korea is not free of this influence. Since the early 2000s, this cultural movement has extended to every corner of the nation bar the remotest rural communities and the minds of senior citizens.

For example, two dramas that only recently aired in South Korea, ‘Smile Dong-hae’ (KBS) and ‘Midas’ (SBS), have already come to the attention of North Koreans. Many young people are avid followers, and many feel they must wear skinny jeans and high heels even when daily necessities are hard to come by.

In an effort to gauge the extent to which this ‘Korean Wave’ is really influencing North Korea today, the Daily NK interviewed North Korean residents in the border areas.

T-ara's Hyomin, Next Big Fashion Designer

It's not a secret T-ara's Hyomin is a very creative girl. Her photography and tasteful selcas have won over the hearts of many netizens, and recently she also revealed she helped design outfits labelmates 5dolls wore for their 'Like This or Like That' promotions. But it doesn't end there!! Her next big project is none other than her own outfit for the upcoming debut stage for Roly Poly, T-ara's next single.

Hyomin shared her sketches and pictures through Twitter. She also added:

“When I was young, I used to make clothes for my dolls. I personally designed my costume for the Roly Poly comeback stage. The model might be disappointing. Hehehe. Our comeback is July 1st~ please look forward to it! Especially, mom and dad!”

In the pictures, she is posing in her outfit, which flaunts a retro pattern and really short pants that were popular during the period. She is also wearing a matching scarf around her neck and red sunglasses. She received loving comments such as, “Completely designed by Hyomin? It’s pretty,” “Short pants, refreshing legs!” and “Hyomin matches the retro concept well!”

Defectors report N.Korea jail abuse

A GROUP of 14 North Korean defectors on Tuesday filed a petition with South Korea's human rights watchdog over abuses they allegedly suffered in two North Korean prisons, a spokesman said.

The petition comes as Seoul's National Human Rights Commission collects cases of human rights violations in the communist state as part of a campaign to improve rights conditions in the North.

Of the group, eight claimed they had suffered severe abuses at the Jongori prison in the north-eastern city of Hoeryong and six others said they were mistreated at a prison in the south-western county of Jungsan.

4minute’s HyunA previously revealed that she’d be making a return to her solo activities after 4minute concluded their first album promotions. On June 22nd, Cube Entertainment confirmed that she’ll make her comeback next month with a new mini-album!

Representatives revealed, “HyunA will begin her solo activities in the beginning of July. She is currently in the second half of recording for her album, and has already completed the album jacket photoshoot.”

B2st makes us wish we were once again, anywhere in Asia

Cube Entertainment has just revealed to allkpop that B2ST will perform as Korea’s representative artists at MTV’s “World Stage Live in Malaysia 2011 (WSLIM 2011)”!

The event will take place on July 24th at Malaysia’s Shah Alam i-City. The boys plan to captivate the crowd with a fantastic performance and bold stage presence. They’ll also be performing alongside many world-famous musicians, like American rock band, Thirty Seconds To Mars.

B2ST commented, “We’re happy that we are going to Malaysia to perform on stage with world-famous artists. Many people from around the globe watch and listen to B2ST through YouTube, but we’re excited to get our live performance broadcasted all over the world.”

B2ST is the only Korean artist to be invited this year, and is the second Korean artist – following the Wonder Girls - to ever perform on MTV’s “World Stage”. It’s a dream come true for Malaysian fans as well, since B2ST will host a fan-meet tour in the country prior to performing on MTV.

Lady Jane and Simon D are known to be a cute celebrity couple, but their relationship didn’t start off quite so charmingly as revealed by Lady Jane on SBS’s “Night After Night”.

She stated, “While I was attending an event after-party, Simon D was staring at me from far away. At that time, he seemed quite average to me. Feeling offended, I asked him, ‘Excuse me, why are you staring?’ and he rather shyly replied, ‘I’m sorry. I was staring because I like you so much.’

Inside I thought to myself, ‘Is he some kind of player?’ Then, he took my hand and said, ‘I’m a fan’. I was scared because I thought he was some weird person. I got away as soon as possible and left the party. Then, he contacted me after finding out my mini-hompy and phone number.

He asked to meet once more.”

At his earnest request, she decided to meet him again and that’s how their relationship started.

She said, “He turned out to be pretty innocent, so I naturally started to take care of him. Even though I was treating him well, my thoughts were different. I told him, ‘Don’t think I belong to you’,” revealing her authority in their relationship.

He started talking under the theme 'I am the one and only in secret relationships" on SBS "Kang Heart" on the 21st.

He said, "I've seen many stars while running a restaurant. There is a very secret place in one of my stores and it's the third floor of a three-story building. When star couple's come, I put them on the third floor on their own".

He also spoke about his way of making stars come back for more, "Keeping their secrets is my recipe".
