When the background music in the studio stopped for a moment, he started to sing. Even in the short time it took to change the lights, instead of just standing there and waiting, he danced. Jay Park stated, “I should practice properly, but I think I’m enjoying it too much.” This might be the reason why it was hard to imagine him away from the stage for good, although it’s been 1 year and 6 months since he stepped off the fancy stage all at once. He defined himself as “singing-rapper-bboy” in his very first solo mini album Take A Deeper Look. We’ve met Jay Park, the person that we knew, or the person that we didn’t know.

How do you feel about starting activities and appearing on the music programs again?
I like it. I think fans wanted it more than I did. They wanted to see me on music broadcasts again, and to finally be back again feels good. And I feel thankful.

How was it singing and dancing onstage on music programs by yourself?
I did a lot of fan meetings over the last year so it wasn’t awkward to be on the stage by myself, but doing music broadcasts by myself for the first time was a little hard. The camera was focused on me all the time so I didn’t know how to control my eyes. (laughs) And before then my dance routine was a bit aggressive since I only got to sing a few parts, but now that I have to sing from the start to the end, I got to be able to balance everything.

On the most recent episode of ‘Dalgona‘, Super Junior’s Kim Heechul revealed a serious side to his usual comedic image.

The show, which takes guests through memory lane by showing video broadcasts of their hometowns, had a segment titled “If Kim Heechul wasn’t in entertainment, what would he be doing?”.

Heechul and his loved ones were tested to see if they gave similar answers, which surprisingly they did.which Heechul and his loved ones had to respond with an identical answer.

Apparently, the Super Junior member is pretty artistic as both his aunt and grandmother answered, “Cartoon artist.” One of his cousins, however, gave the unexpected response of “Father,” which was the answer Heechul had written down as well.

The parents of the late actress Jung Da Bin, who committed suicide four years ago, has revealed that she has gotten married in spirit to a man that died in 2002.

This spiritual marriage was brought together by Jung Da Bin’s mother in hopes of consoling the two in their after life. Jung Da Bin’s husband, Moon Jae Sung, was born in 1975 and died in 2002 from an unknown cause. He was a business major at a college in Daegu, and was described to be smart and morally sound person.

Through E-Daily SPN, Jung Da Bin’s mother revealed, “My son-in-law, Moon Jae Sung, was an extremely nice and caring person. Our families have friends for a while now, and although the two did not know each other, the adults have come together after long discussions in hopes of consoling the two, who left this world unmarried.

The older brother of Moon commented, “I’m glad that we were able to bring them together like this. I hope that they will be able to live happily together in another world. They left the world too early, and it’s upsetting to me that it isn’t a real wedding, but a spiritual one.

The ceremony took place on the morning of May 22nd at Kyungki-do, and the two will be buried together at the Utopia Memorial in Ansung.

"Entertainment Section TV" has commented on their decision to cancel a broadcast interview with the cast of "Miss Ripley", which includes JYJ's Yoochun. The decision sparked a debate among netizens and networks about the exclusion of JYJ from a number of programs.

A representative of the show spoke to 10Asia over the phone and commented, “We have a system and criteria set for such news coverage. If there are better items to cover, we do not have to send reporters to a location for the sole reason that the drama is one being aired by our broadcasting company. Recently, we aired a segment focusing on Lee Dahae of ‘Miss Ripley’, so we decided to exclude the press conference from the list as it overlapped.“

However, ‘Section TV Entertainment News’ has attended the press conferences of all MBC miniseries with the exception of ‘Matched Pair’. But ‘Section TV Entertainment News’ focused heavily on ‘Matched Pair’ after the press conference by visiting the filming location of the drama frequently and holding a separate interview with the child actors. The lack of coverage of ‘Miss Ripley’ by MBC has left the production company of the drama with many questions left unanswered.

The drama's production company seemed perplexed by the program's stance. They responded, “We had no problem adding Park Yoochun to the cast of the drama. We, too, are curious as to why Park Yoochun can’t appear on variety programs.“

Since Yoochun's exclusion from "Entertainment Section TV" and, later, the "Miss Ripley" cast's exclusion from "Come To Play" and JYJ's exclusion from KBS's "Music Bank", fans have speculated about possible external pressure from SM Entertainment. However, "Entertainment Section TV"'s representative also said that "if ‘Miss Ripley’ becomes very popular, we will become the ones to ask for coverage of their drama.”

"Miss Ripley" will begin airing on May 30th on MBC.

Jay Park once again dumbfounded the K-Pop industry this past April when his new album hit the Top 10 in Korea and seven non-Asian countries.

Beating out Big Bang’s Taeyang album “Solar” for best international debut of a K-Pop artist, Park’s “Take a Deeper Look” went to number one in Canada and Denmark and peaked at number two in the U.S. and Australia on the iTunes R&B/Soul album charts. The record also sold well in Italy, France and Norway.

“I didn’t expect this at all,” says the 24-year-old Park on the unexpected worldwide response to his solo debut. “It’s been surreal to find out that I have all these fans in countries I have never been to before.”

With a more of urban/hip-hop feel, Park’s new music is different from that of his boy band days.

“It’s the music that I wanted to do,” he says, adding that his sound is still K-Pop. Park is once again active on the K-Pop performance scene in Seoul after a two-year stateside hiatus.

Taiwan star TV Channel V's special interview with girl group T-ara took place at TV Daily.

On the 20th at 3:30PM, T-ara's interview with Channel V took place at Seoul Gangnam District Nonhyundong at the office of TV Daily. Due to Channel V's request to hold the interview, leading reporter Ken personally traveled to Korea in order to make this interview possible.

On this day T-ara said, "We still haven't had the chance to greet our Taiwanese fans, but there are a number of ways we can communicate with them, such as Tweeter. We're aware that we have a fanclub there, which we were really happy about. We will come meet with you soon", passing on their greetings to their overseas fans. They then talked about their dorm life and the acting activities of the members.

Despite the fact that T-ara has yet to promote overseas, reporter Ken was able to feel the popularity of T-ara and the Hallyu wave, being well aware of their status in Korea, including Eunjung's appearances in MBC's 'We Got Married' and the horror movie 'White: Curse of the Melody'. Soyeon also gave a simple greeting message in Chinese, not forgetting about fan service.

Meanwhile, T-ara is currently preparing for their new album as well as studying foreign languages.

Director Kim Ki-duk has picked an award at Cannes International Film Festival for his film Arirang, taking home the top prize in the Un Certain Regard section along with Andreas Dresen’s Halt Auf Freier Strecke (Stopped On Track).

The film received a standing ovation at Cannes when it screened to approximately 2,000 viewers there, and it’ll be interesting to see how that affects its response in Korea, if at all, as it’s been peppered with criticism there. (Here’s a well-written review in English, from The Hollywood Reporter)

Kim has long had a contentious relationship with the industry in Korea, while being lauded overseas for his indie arthouse films (3-Iron, Samaritan Girl, Coast Guard and Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter…And Spring are some of his more well-known films). While other Korean directors like Park Chan-wook and Bong Joon-ho are respected both at home and abroad, it’s not quite the case for Kim, whose movies are often commercial flops domestically. He’s developed a reputation for being a “bad boy” of cinema, and Arirang takes that reputation, inflates it by about a thousand percent, and flings it back in the faces of his detractors.

The film is documentary-style and features himself in a cabin, edited in an experimental fashion as a dialogue with himself (in three distinct personas), reflecting on his 15-year-long career. He doesn’t hold anything back, and at points swears and rails at the camera, and himself, about the pains and betrayals he’s felt by moviegoers and others in the industry, including his protégé Jang Hoon (who left to work on a major film production).

Kim was reportedly spurred to make Arirang after the traumatizing accident on set of his 2008 film Dream, in which Lee Na-young almost died while filming a suicide (hanging) scene. In a letter posted on the film festival website, Kim wrote, “The countless people I’ve meet while making films…Human relationships that come together as if forever only to rip apart like tissue paper…All of us entangled by love, passion, hate and the urge to kill…To me all this is Arirang.”

Synopsis: Miracle on Jongno Street is a story about 4 gay men who try to lead a 'normal life'. Despite their weary lives, Eden in Jongno is a place where they make friends and find love, and in a way it could be referred to as their private ‘Garden of Eden’. The movie is a real life documentary about 5 men including the director himself, who meet and become friends in Eden.

In the middle of making a movie Jun-moon, a director, loses his self-confidence due to social scrutiny regarding his sexual orientation. Byung-gyon, a gay rights activist, has been participating in movements to establish equal rights for homosexuals. Young-soo, a chef who moved from the countryside 10 years ago, lived a lonely life but he finds happiness after joining a gay choir called G-Voice. Yol, who works for a major company, dreams of the day him and his partner, can have a legal wedding. These stories are no different from the lives of the ‘heterosexual majority’ and the relatively normal portrayal of these men is original and a significant achievement in the positive representation of homosexuals.
