Son Dambi makes a teary confession on "Kiss and Cry"

Singer Son Dambi poured out her heart on television today. On the May 22nd episode of SBS' "Kiss and Cry", Son Dambi talked about the prejudices people had against her. She confessed: "I want to break the stereotype that many people have of me."

"People say that I don't put in effort and became famous only because of my looks, but I worked really hard. I know that myself."

She added with tears in her eyes: "I'm preparing for my album, but I'm the type of person who can't concentrate on two things at once. My goal is to be first [in this competition], of course."

Son Dambi wore a black outfit and gave a charismatic performance on this day, earning applause from the audience.

idk why people say dambi can't sing. imo she sings better than some members in idol groups that are much more popular than her, though I wouldn't say her voice is strong enough to be a solo singer without some help from a back track. But regardless, she's pretty talented. But like a lot of talented solo artists she kind of conformed to what everyone else was doing, and also tried to ride off the success of the song that brought her the most fame (Crazy).
I thought her skating performance was wonderful, especially after seeing how much she struggled during practice. I'd love to see some of it incorporated somehow in her comeback, and see those amazing dance skills ♥

I don't know why she has that stereotype. Even if she didn't work hard, she still sings decently and dances well. Plus she initially got famous from that trainee show she did, and people were surprised at her dancing ability and work ethic. She's not saying other people don't work hard, just that she didn't get to where she is with her looks alone.
