Here’s a look at Yoo Ah-in‘s (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) next project, where he stars as the titular Wan-deuk-yi in a coming-of-age tale based on a manhwa of the same name. (The character’s name is Wan-deuk, and “yi” is what you’d add at the end of it if you’re the same age or older, like Kang-ah.)

Earlier, [Allkpop] reported that SM Entertainment’s Lee Soo Man gave a lecture for 32 Stanford University students on the theory of culture technology and SM’s globalization and business management strategies.

During the lecture, he was filmed on camera dropping some information about his upcoming 12-member boyband, “M1.” While fans thought that it’d be one big group all along, Lee Soo Man revealed that he’s actually planning to divide them.

Lee Soo Man stated, “We have a new team that we’re preparing that’s comprised of seven Koreans and five Chinese members. Both teams will be using the same name, but the five Chinese members will be promoting in China, and the seven Korean members will be promoting in Korea. They will be debuting simultaneously with the same song, but in Chinese and Korean versions.”

He continued, “The two will debut and promote at the same time, but together, they’ll be one team. Plans for the group have finalized, and they will be launched in both China and Korea this May.”

Netizens have now nicknamed the groups “M1″ and “M2“, and rumor has it that SM Entertainment will be debuting yet another male group including rookie Jino from SM the Ballad, for a total of three rookie team debuts this year.

BIGBANG is the top idol band nowadays and we expect to see them to remain on top for some more time. The average lifespan of the idol groups is 5 years. When the members grow into top singers, then problems between them and their companies will emerge, so the idol group would usually be disbanded by that time.

However, BIGBANG is not going on the same way with them. Recently, the 5 year-contract between BIGBANG and YGE has come to an end but they have decided to renew another 5-year contract with YG Entertainment.

5dolls' mini album gets delayed

Co-ed School's female sub-unit 5dolls was set to release their currently untitled mini-album on May 9th, roughly four months after their debut mini-album. Now, it seems that their plans have changed.

On her Twitter account, maknae Eunkyo tweeted, "Our music's release date is delayed." No further explanation has been made regarding it, nor has Core Contents Media released a statement about it.

WONDER GIRLS TO STAR IN AN AMERICAN MOVIE

The Asian pop sensation J.Y. Park took to the stage today in Montreux at the Festival of Media and announced plans to create a movie staring his girl band the Wonder Girls.

The movie, Wonder Girls At the Apollo, is a joint venture with Nick Cannon and his Teen Nick stars School Gryls. The film will see the Korean super group and the street savvy Gryls battle each other on stage at Harlem’s iconic Apollo theatre.

The two bands will join forces for the movie, created for Teen Nick, as well as an accompanying album.

The Wonder Girls are the first Korean group to enter the top 100 Billboard chart in the US and were discovered by Park who produces and choreographs the act.

Following in Park’s success as a global brand ambassador, the Wonder Girls are working with several global brands including Kia and Coca-Cola.

We have decided on the official color in representing BEAST & B2UTY.

In order to find a color that does not conflict with other fandoms and their fan support items, we have decided DARK GREY as the official color for BEAST & B2UTY after much deliberation.

In the upcoming mid-May, DARK GREY will be used for the fan support items, you will be able to see it when BEAST’s official album is released as well as the scene of the open broadcast.

-As for the fan support items, they will be revealed through an announcement before the comeback.

But when Bollywood was forced out, the Koreans moved in.

In the markets of the state capital Imphal, shops are packed with DVDs of South Korean films and television soap operas, as well as CDs of Korean pop stars, with a particular focus on preening boy bands.

JQT To Advance Into The US Market With Melvin Brown

On May 3rd, rookie girl group JQT announced that they’ll be advancing into the American music market!

Representatives of GP Entertainment revealed, “JQT has been selected by record producer Melvin Brown (known for producing Lady Gaga, Akon) for an album release in the U.S. market this fall.”

According to GP Entertainment, Melvin Brown, who established “Konvict Music” with Akon, was searching for an ‘Asian Lady Gaga’ when he found JQT through a Korean music representative.

Rumors of a new After School sub-unit called ‘Banana Caramel‘ recently began circulating when fans noticed Nana and Jungah hanging out more exclusively lately.

Because Pledis revealed that they had another unit in the works, the rumor spread like wildfire after a picture of the two eating bananas surfaced on the ‘net.

Pledis replied to the speculation by asserting that Nana and Jungah are not a unit; furthermore, they firmly stated that they don’t have plans for another unit yet.

The members of After School stated, “All of us are very close to one another so we’re always hanging out together off camera, which is why we think the rumor came about.”
