On May 3rd, rookie girl group JQT announced that they’ll be advancing into the American music market!
Representatives of GP Entertainment revealed, “JQT has been selected by record producer Melvin Brown (known for producing Lady Gaga, Akon) for an album release in the U.S. market this fall.”
According to GP Entertainment, Melvin Brown, who established “Konvict Music” with Akon, was searching for an ‘Asian Lady Gaga’ when he found JQT through a Korean music representative.
The producer behind JQT’s album will be Ray&Renny, who has previous experience working with Akon, T-Pain, and Lady Gaga. They’ll begin recording in both Korea and the States this month and are aiming for a global release as early as September. The album will contain a total of eight tracks.
Melvin Brown will be going to Korea on May 7th with Ray&Renny to aid the girls in their recording and for a press conference declaring their plans.

I think they should focus on their fanbase in Korea first.

Date: 2011-05-10 03:57 am (UTC)why they keep thinking that an american producer = them being a hit in america? especially since they only go for money, not respect or anything about the artist, and tend to give left over songs no one else wanted.
i'll keep preaching this to every group who is trying to go overseas: they should focus to be better known in their own country first.

Date: 2011-05-10 04:54 am (UTC)Where did this group even come from? I'm not trying to be mean or hate...I just never seen or heard of them. Are they new? Do they speak English? Hell, what are their names?

Date: 2011-05-10 05:07 am (UTC)They're signed to GP Entertainment, and their debut stage was literally the day before Beast's and MBLAQ's, so not many people paid attention to them.
Their names are Joo Minsun, Lee Jieun, Park Gajin, and Park Minjeong (the leader). As far as I know, none of them speak English, but that's easy enough to fake as long as you can get intonation and pronunciation down.
