SHINEE's Key recently attended the fashion show and after party of designer Ha Sang Beg as part of Seoul Fashion Week F/W 2011. Netizens are already all praise for the fashionista idol's wardrobe. For those of you who don't remember, the "pop polymath designer" who is a former top model and figurehead of fun in Korean fashion was responsible for SHINee's colorful concept in Juliette, including their signature skinnies in bright colors and "backless" tops. Ha Sang Beg has appeared in interviews with SHINee and was behind some photoshoots of the Juliette period as well, memorably the one with SHINee as "swan princes".

We don't have pictures of the actual show in the English speaking world yet, but a tip-off found on the internet seems pretty promising: "Racks of bright & sexy, fetish inspired couture knitwear, uniquely tailored trousers and coats, ultra fine fabrics and yarns."

Key might have had some special considerations wrt attendees pulling him there. )

T-ara’s Jiyeon made a surprise confession about an ‘attempted runaway event’.

On the coming April 3rd, MBC’s “Bouquet” will be meeting fans as a new ‘family’ variety show rather than a ‘youth’ variety show.

On the newly refurbished “Bouquet”, T-ara visited as the first guest. As all the T-ara members were together for the first time in a long time, there was a warm, friendly atmosphere during the recording.

During the recording, the MCs asked, “Have you ever run away during your student days?”, to which T-ara’s maknae (youngest) Jiyeon surprised all the guests by answering yes.

Jiyeon, however, revealed that no one in her family knows about her escape – raising curiosity from listeners.

She stated, “During middle school, I decided to run away, so I quietly left my house. However, 30 minutes after I left, I got a text message saying that my older brother ran away too. I was so surprised that I forgot the fact that I ran away and I immediately called my parents. Then I helped my parents look for my brother,” causing much laughter in the studio.

T-ara’s maknae Jiyeon recently uploaded a picture on her Twitter with the comment, “lullulala~~ koong koong!“.

Although her tweet was totally nonsensical, it hardly seemed to matter because the picture she uploaded was stunning. Jiyeon’s dark eyeliner, sophisticated coif, and her elegant off-the-shoulder top elevated her to the status of ‘goddess’.

Because Koreans seem to value sharp collarbones particularly highly, Jiyeon’s exposed collarbone and fair skin drew comments from netizens like, “Jiyeon is a collarbone beauty“, Boldly exposed skin“, and “Jiyeon is totally pretty“.

What do you think? Are you a part of the collarbone club, or do you find it this beauty standard strange? Toss us your thoughts below!

Hip hop artist/producer Cho PD snagged everyone’s attention when he announced his unconventional plans for his upcoming boy group, Block B.

It’s a well known fact that agency CEOs and senior producers decide the musical direction for their rookie artists. It’s also become customary for these producers to blatantly decide when rookies don’t have enough experience, in addition to extorting their copyright rights from them when it comes to producing music. Although many have voiced their opposition to these trends, Cho PD is one of the few to stir his feelings into action.

The producer has revealed that he has not laid a finger on any of the songs included in Block B’s debut album, nor will he be debuting their work under his name.

Cho PD explained, “Popularity can disappear, but talent will always remain. I want to instill in my artists the ability to grow on their own. Allowing the members to receive their rightfully earned copyright income expands the duration of their career.

He continued, “Agency CEOs and producers working for only their own profit are not only selfish, but deprive the artists of the opportunities they need. If they really have a message or lyrics that they want to deliver, they should aid the members to find it and write it themselves. There are prevalent instances where people will add their names to the co-producers credits, and extort copyright when all they did was add the sound of one cymbal. But to me, that’s outdated and undemocratic, and I’m sure that such a system won’t last long.”

Noting the various issues surrounding artists, their fanclubs, and their agencies, Cho PD also mentioned that he would be trying a variety of other systems to prevent problems from arising, such as allowing the boys to run their fanclub themselves.

Block B will be making their official debut on April 14th.

South Korea's Constitutional Court has upheld the nation's ban on outlawing gay sex in the military, the AFP reported.

Saying that the law was necessary to maintain discipline among the ranks, the 9-member panel ruled Thursday that the law is constitutional.

“The legal code cannot be seen as discriminatory against gays because such behavior, if left unchecked, might result in subordinates being harassed by superiors in military barracks,” the court said in a statement.

Justices, however, were not unanimous in their decision, with 4 judges dissenting.

Under the ban, written in 1962, soldiers found guilty of violating the policy are locked up for up to one year and given a dishonorable discharge. South Korea's military draft makes service mandatory for all male citizens, with no conscientious objector option. And in a country where service records are commonly used to determine employment and being gay is considered “abnormal,” a military dishonorable discharge for being gay carries a heavy burden.

The Military Penal Code further punishes gay troops by lumping together consensual and non-consensual gay sex as “sexual harassment.”

South Korea's defense ministry had asked the Constitutional Court to uphold the gay ban, saying that the military “works for the public interest rather than personal happiness.”

T-ARA Soyeon's interesting revelation about MBLAQ's Lee Joon has sparked some interest on the recent guesting of KBS2's "100 Points out of 100".

During the 'Young Writers Talk' corner on the topic about 'Unexpected Romanticists', Soyeon revealed that Lee Joon has a severe obsession over his previous girlfriends.

Causing Lee Joon to panic, Soyeon further confessed that, “He had a girlfriend when he was a trainee. I heard that if she doesn’t pick up his call, he would leave up to 140 missed calls.” Taken aback by the statement, Lee Joon did not have a chance to justify himself out of the confession and eventually confirmed the truth.

Adding more humour to the sudden confession, Kim Shinyoung further teased Lee Joon by saying - “Did you buy a telescope to observe her?”

The Agriculture ministry said it currently maintains poultry movement restrictions in 14 rural cities and counties across the country after quarantine authorities have had to cull 6.27 million birds on 269 farms since Dec. 29, when the first case of bird flu was reported.
