DSP Media has revealed that they will be trying their absolute best in reaching a compromise with the three estranged KARA members on January 25th.
Representatives reported on the 24th, "We received notice that they will be meeting on the 25th at 10 AM. We have yet to receive a location.
When asked how they would respond to request of a management shuffle, which became an issue earlier on, they responded, "They would not bring such unrealistic requests to the table. We believe that as much as the three have expressed a desire in maintaining KARA, they will be realistic in their plan. KARA is the most important right now, and protecting the team is our highest priority. We believe that their opinions aren’t much more different than ours."
They concluded, "Our stance is still the same as well. The only way to solve a misunderstanding is through conversation and compromise. The reason we haven’t been taking any other type of action is to prevent the issue from exacerbating and to promote conversation. This is the best we can do, and we will continue to do our best in protecting KARA, so please refrain from further creating distorted rumors or speculations."

B2ST’s Yoseob, who was recently cast for the musical “Gwanghwamun Sonata,” attended the production conference at the Seoul Plaza Hotel’s Grand Ballroom on January 24th.
He began by revealing that he was hesitant to take up the cast offer. “When my company first asked me if I knew of any song by composer Lee Young Hoon, I realized that I didn’t. When they asked me whether I knew ‘Red Sunset,‘ I said that I had heard it before. The company told me that I could be considered for a role in the musical, ‘Gwanghwamun Sonata,’ which left me worried since I didn’t know any song by composer Lee.”
Yoseob continued, “Afterwards, I found out more about the composer and heard more things about senior Lee Moon Sae and director Lee Jina; I then wanted to take part in the musical. I’ll be working hard to ensure that I do not cause harm to the musical.”
Yoseob will be playing as ‘Jiyong,’ the son of the two leading roles.
Director Lee Jina added, “Yang Yoseob and Heo Gyu were double-cast for one role. The difference between their ages are vast, but I think Yoseob will fit the role since he’s closer to the age of ‘Jiyong.’ Heo Gyu is a bit older, but because of his youthful looks, he’ll be able to bring out the 21-year-old ‘Jiyong.’”
Over 30 songs will be used for the musical, which is scheduled to run from March 20th to April 10th at the Sejong Culture Theater Hall.

Mun Hee Jun and Son Ho Young have gotten through the disappointment of not being able to continue their activities with their past group that used to have very big popularity, and now they’re giving Seungri advice to make him realize Bigbang’s values. Not only that, the concern of disbanding that might happen to Kara because of their contract issues with the company can be an example too.
Seungri is interviewed by SPN on last January 14th in the filming set of his new solo album’s title song MV, VVIP.
Seungri said that after he got out from MBC Happy Sunday ‘Enjoy Today’ on October last year, he started the preparation for his solo album and Bigbang’s album, and when he got the time he’ll meet with his seniors to receive advice about entertainment activities.
Seungri told us that “The seniors said, ‘although we want to go back to that place again but we can’t’”. Mun Hee Jun and Son Ho Young are now over 30 years old. Their words perhaps mean that now they’re too old to do singing while dancing just like what they’ve done before in their group. But practically it can also mean that it’s impossible for disbanded group to reuniting again and doing activities together.
Seungri also said that his sunbaes told him that ‘you can’t stay in the same place like where you are now forever’. It contains a message that after years passed Bigbang’s popularity will also change and this team won’t last forever, so you should focus in your present activities now as Bigbang.

Popular groups like SNSD, f(x) and SHINee have arrived in Japan on the 24th for “SMTOWN LIVE” at Tokyo’s Yoyogi 1st Gymnasium on the 25th and 26th.
Around 10:30am SNSD arrived, they were guarded by 10 people and were silent the whole time. Afterwards, you could see f(x) in a Satellite shop. They waved to fans and quickly walked out of the airport.
More huge artists from SM Entertainment will also be performing during this concert. The first concert was held in Korea in 2008. Afterwards, they’ve had 6 performances in 4 countries and around 205,000 people have attended. It’s Asia’s largest music festival.
This time BoA (24) and DBSK will also perform. This will be DBSK’s comeback stage to Japan as a 2 person unit, Yunho (24) and Changmin (22). It will be their first time performing their new song “Why? (Keep Your Head Down)” in Japan, the single goes on sale on the 26th.
SNSD and SUPER JUNIOR will have a collaboration, everyone from SM will sing during the ending and they will also be performing a lot of songs in Japanese.
The 24,000 tickets for these two days were completely sold out. More than 20 times that amount actually applied to get tickets.

The CEO of Core Contents Media, Kim Kwang Su, expressed his displeasure with the Young Producers’ Association (YPA) due to their support of the three KARA members.
The YPA had made an official statement on January 23rd, which criticized the tactics of DSP Media and made it clear that they were standing with the members’ decision to stand against their agency.
In an interview with Star News on the 24th, Kim retorted, “The statement made by YPA glosses over the stances of the majority of producers. Because of their statement, I have ordered an immediate halt on the distribution of dramas, movie OSTs, and digital services of our artists on all digital music sites related to the YPA.”
Kim continued, “I have sent an official document to Loen and Mnet to take down our artists’ songs. The YPA has lost their ground, and even if my decision is not regarded favorably, such strong actions are needed as a veteran of the industry.”

Yesterday 1/23 Sunday, during the "Idol Star Athletics Championship", SHINee's leader, Onew had a BAD FALL!
It was during the 50m Halt when he tripped over the fence and landed on his knee. He was able to make it to the finish line, but he fell down on the mat and didn't get up or say anything for a minute or two! He was very strong! Everyone was really worried about him! He began to tear up, so finally they carried him off in a stretcher.
He kept still and didn't move around much.
We don't really know if he's ok or not.... Let's hope he's ok!

Tony An’s father passes away

On January 25th, representatives of Tony An’s agency revealed that his father had passed away earlier this morning after battling cancer.
He was recently admitted to the intensive care unit at Seoul Hospital due to his worsening conditions. An was said to have stayed by his side, despite his busy schedule.
An once briefly talked about his father on a broadcast program, and revealed, “Even while coming out to film today, I wondered whether it was okay for me to laugh and have fun like this on air. It feels so wrong as his son.”
His father’s wake will be held at the Asan Hospital.

Actress Go Ara took part in a ballerina-themed photoshoot for the February edition of “Elle.”
The four images she conveyed for the photoshoot were described to include a frail but strong black swan, an expression of sorrow influenced by Edgar Degas, a quirky and fun little ballet dancer, and the image of an innocent and elegant ballerina dreaming of becoming a star.
Ara was said to have used her previous experience with a role as a ballerina character to bring out the graceful qualities they’re known for, which impressed and received praise from the staff members. The director was especially impressed with her unique hazel colored eyes, which he believed did an excellent job in conveying deeper emotions.

Hoya from the idol group, Infinite, has been attracting attention because of his similar looks to JYJ’s Junsu.
Hoya posted a selca picture on the 19th, at around 11 PM, on his Twitter saying “At the awards ceremony!”. In the picture, you can see Hoya brightly smiling while showing a V-sign. His clear skin on the white background and vivid eyes make him stand out.
Netizens who saw the picture all said, “In this picture, Hoya looks exactly like JYJ’s Junsu”. Following this, reactions formed such as, “Hoya’s eye line and the shape of his mouth looks exactly like Junsu’s. After building up a high level of anticipation, SBS’s new drama, “Paradise Ranch“, finally aired its first episode on January 24th.
According to media analysts, AGB Nielsen Media, the drama’s pilot episode managed to record 9.7% in viewer ratings.
The pilot episode saw ‘Han Dongju’ (TVXQ’s Changmin) divorcing his wife, ‘Lee Daji’, (Lee Yeon Hee), after six months of marriage. The drama then fast forwards six years, where they meet again. Unlike ‘Daji,’ who is ecstatic at seeing her partner once more, ‘Dongju’ remains indifferent and aloof.
Both received praise for their acting, as Changmin was said to have exceeded the expectations of many while Lee Yeon Hee displayed a more mature acting style compared to her former roles.
