CN Blue has emerged as the new Hallyu Wave powerhouse.

CN Blue’s first mini album “Bluetory” was placed #1 in Taiwanese G-Music Chart for the first week of August (6-12 August), ahead of fellow Korean boy bands, Super Junior and SS501.

Ranked 2nd and 3rd are Super Junior’s “Bonamana” and SS501′s “Kokoro” respectively.

Taiwan’s Five Music Chart [also for the same week] has seen that CN Blue gained popularity and was also ranked at the top spot of the chart.

FNC Music said,”It has not been a year since CN Blue’s debut, but they are gaining popularity in Taiwan and Mainland China. The same goes for Super Junior and SS501. [Looking at this phenomenon] the future for Korean stars are expected to be great in Taiwan.”

CN Blue who is gaining more popularity nowadays will kick off their Asia Tour in seven countries such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Thailand soon.

Taeyang’s solo career began last year when he released the digital singles “Where U At” and “Wedding Dress”, after that came the full solo album of “I Need A Girl” and now he is soon releasing “I’ll Be There”.

As planned, this coming August 19th Taeyang’s new single “I’LL BE THERE” is expected to be released in Korean in Korea as well as the English version in foreign-related sites.

“I’LL BE THERE” broadcasting activities were scheduled to begin during this weekend’s Music Core on the 21st however, the album release date has inevitably postponed for nearly a week, until August 25th.

The reason it was delayed was because two versions of the music video for “I’LL BE THERE” will be produced.

The girl group T-ara becomes even hotter by starring in a new mobile game.

Recently T-ara recruited a new member and changed the leader, creating a hot subject but the old T-ara will be starring in a new dance mobile game made by Omnitel called "Rhythmic Touch of T-ara", and has received great critical responses.

T-ara only debuted a year ago, but they're not only singers but actresses starring in dramas, movies, musicals and CFs. A mobile game is a new thing for T-ara who recently announced a new album coming in September-October.

Coming back to perform as a full team together on stage after 6 years, Baby V.O.X make special appearances during the filming of SBS Kim JungEun’s Chocolate on 11th August.

The original Baby V.O.X members Gan MiYeon, Yoon EunHye, Kim YiJi, Shim EunJi and Lee HeeJin etc started with the performance of their hit ‘Yayaya’. They then introduced themselves as Baby V.O.X, “The leader and the eldest and the married is Kim YiJi and youngest is Yoon EunHye.”

They also revealed that their average age now is 30 years old.

They continued with the performance of ‘Killer’ and voiced that they have practised for about 3 days for their live performances.

SNSD is SM Entertainment's Ace

On August 16th, it was revealed that SM Entertainment earned 47.5 billion won ($40.4 million USD) in sales and 18.6 billion won ($15.8 million USD) in operating/business profits. This earning was a lot more than expected. Just the first quarter of this year, SM hit a record of 22.7 billion won ($19.3 million US) in sales and 10.4 billion won ($8.8 million USD) in operating/business profits.

This means that compared to the first half of last year, SM Entertainment rose 59% in sales profits and 385% in business profits this year. SM’s future results look promising as well.

Besides having taking place as the leading girl group, SNSD is also about to enter into Japan as well. Last year, SNSD had a mega-hit with their song “Gee” and rose as the national girl group. It’s estimated that just last year, they added more than 5 billion won ($4.25 million USD) to SM’s profits with their single and album sales. They are to enter into Japan next month and it is expected that they will continue to be like good daughters of SM, giving back and boosting SM’s performance.

Super Junior, Shinee, and f(x) are also moving fandoms in all of Asia on a large scale. On top of that, “veterans” Kangta and BoA are adding strength by showing that they are alive and doing well as well.

According to a market expert said, “In the case of entertainment companies, liquidity in the market is so large that it is difficult for profits to be guaranteed. Even before they were ever known, rookie girl group Chocolate was able to snag a nice endorsement deal with popular clothing brand NUZZON.

The girls will finally be making their debut through popular Mnet show M-Rookies with a single entitled 어떡해 (What To Do), which is said to be a cute and bubbly song.

In a press conference held in W Seoul Walkerhill Hotel for KBS2TV drama 'SungKyunKwan Scandal', Micky Yoochun very honestly expressed that he felt extremely pressured due to his long absence from Korean activities.

He said that: "The wounds in my heart hadn't healed completely and I really did not want to start any new activities, not to mention that this is acting. When I received the invitation to take part in this drama, I started to take acting classes, and I felt I was able to reconnect with other poeple. Acting made me a happier person."

The Korean 9 member group with beautiful legs, SNSD sold 23,000 copies of their first Japanese DVD “SNSD Arrival~Arrival in Japan Commemoration Disc~ New Beginning of Girls’ Generation” in their first week. They will place 4th for total DVD sales on the August 23rd weekly DVD ranking. SNSD is the first Korean female group that has made it into the total (DVD) top 5. Out of people who have entered the top 5 ranking with their 1st DVDs, Korean female artist BoA placed there 7 years and 5 months ago with “8 Films & more”. Foreign female group The 12 Girls (from China) placed in the top 5 with their first DVD “The 12 Girls ~ First Premium Concert in Japan~” 6 years and 7 months ago.

This DVD consists of all the music videos up until now. 10,000 lucky fans who bought the limited edition version of the DVD are invited to their debut event showcase concert at Tokyo’s Ariake Coliseum. Although she tweeted the worrisome messages over a month ago, T-ara’s Hyomin recently clarified that her tweets are nothing to be worried about.

Through an interview held with Star News, she said, “All of the members have been doing so well, I never thought people would think that we would split up.”

Hyomin also found some of the comments to her tweets to be quite funny and said, “We’re doing well. Of course things can get tough (at the time we were exhausted with our group and solo activities), but something as big as a breakup would not happen.”

Kim Tae Woo will be temporarily leaving KBS Invincible Youth to prepare for his next album.

On August 17th, a representative revealed,“Kim Tae Woo will leave Invincible Youth for about 2 months in order to prepare for his next album and also to recharge.“

On the show, Kim Tae Woo and SNSD’s Yuri had developed a love line and brought about much laughter. The latter though had already left the show a few months ago. However, following this decision, Kim Tae Woo had his last recording on August 11th. Hangeng developed suicidal thoughts while with SM Entertainment

The worst thing that could possibly happen to a celebrity, that is, ending your life early due to large amounts of stress, almost happened to Super Junior’s Hangeng.

The singer recently made an appearance on a Taiwanese program titled Shen Chunhua Life Show, where he revealed, “While with SM [Entertainment], I was building so much stress that at one point, I just wanted to commit suicide.”

He continued in tears, “It was just too hard, living in Korea. Having the thoughts of hanging myself in my mind was worse. Just thinking of the possibilities at the time made everything so difficult.”

To further add to the saddened environment, a letter from his father in Beijing which basically stated his greetings to his ‘long lost’ son, and the endless love that he shares with him, was given to Hangeng during the show, leading him to drop tears.

T-ara stayed in an apartment in Gangnam, Seoul, and they hardly had any time to be alone as they stayed together and shared rooms among themselves. However, the girls claimed that there have been occurrences of creepy incidents. Not only Jiyeon who starred in the horror movie "Death Bell 2" had these experiences but Eunjung was also startled by her scary encounter.

"I was brushing my teeth and when I looked down, I saw a pair of man's feet behind my feet." Jiyeon said. While Eunjung recalled "Early in the morning, I heard the sound of a hair dryer coming from Jiyeon's room, I thought she was blow drying her hair but I later found out that she was still asleep at the moment."

Not only that, the girls also stated that they have even heard the cries of a baby during midnight. Korean boygroup ZE:A was invited by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau as goodwill ambassadors for a 6-day promotional tour. They were joined by the members of Fahrenheit yesterday on a visit to one of Taipei's busiest temple, Hsing Tian Kong (行天宮).

Fahrenheit, who are also goodwill ambassadors themselves, introduced ZE:A on the traditions of visiting a Taiwanese temple. In addition to praying for good fortune, Fahrenheit recommended getting a "收驚" (“Recalling the Frightened Soul”) ceremony done by the old ladies from the temple. It is believed that the soul is comprised of 7 parts “yin” and 3 parts “yang”. While a "balanced" soul ensures healthiness, symptoms of an imbalanced one include random crying at night (think babies) or illnesses. The act of “Recalling the Frightened Soul” is a way of returning of all parts of the soul to where they belong, so balance can be restored once again.

When Fahrenheit was asked about their language barrier with the Korean visitors, Jiro Wang laughed and said they can communicate through body language. Other members added, “English, Chinese. If not then there’s always the translator”. Among the local delicacies, they said ZE:A enjoyed 潤餅 (Taiwanese Crepe) the most. Their guests also seemed to have developed a liking for ground peanut, as they've been adding it to everything they eat.

ZE:A visited the Taipei 101 and experienced their first foot massages earlier in the day. They will be heading to more tourist attractions including Taipei’s Yong Kang Street (where many famous eateries are located), as well as Kaohsiung’s Liuho Night Market. Following last week’s MBC Music Core with special MCs consisting of SHINee’s Onew, f(x)’s Krystal, 2PM’s Nichkhun and miss A’s Suzy, it has been revealed that this week’s broadcast will be MCed by none other than BEAST’s Yoon Doojoon, Lee Ki Kwang, and IU!

Talented singer Jay Park recently updated his Twitter with a new photo for fans to enjoy, sporting a brand new hairdo.

Along with the photo, he added, “just got done working out 휴 ㅋㅋ, look at my hair hahahahah,” leaving fans in a state of laughter.

Kim Bum and miss A for EDWIN

Last month, we reported that Kim Bum and miss A would be teaming up to become EDWIN’s new models. Recently, their fall fashion pictorial was revealed.

On July 28th, casual brand EDWIN completed their 10 F/W season photoshoot. For this season the young and fresh miss A joined the dandy and modern Kim Bum to show various styles for many different lifestyles.

Kim Bum wore items that are expected to be trends this fall, from checkered shirts to leather jackets. For each outfit, he displayed unique poses and expressions that led the shoot.

On the other hand, miss A completed their first Korean commercial and showed a different appeal through EDWIN’s casual outfits.

miss A said,

“We were nervous because it was our first Korean CF shoot, however we were able to complete the shoot in a happy atmosphere. Expect to see a new image of miss A through the pictorial.”

The full commercial shoot will be revealed in early September.

Blonde Yesung to star in Spamalot, the musical!

It has been confirmed that Super Junior’s Yesung will be challenging himself to perform his third musical, Spamalot. Spamalot has been said to be a comedy musical, where main stars will be unveiling their comical side through both singing and acting.

As mentioned, this will be Yesung’s third musical in his career, first and second being Nam Han San Sung and Hong Gil Dong. He has often been praised for his unique professionalism he offers to his audience. Yesung promises, “I will now show my true musical side by drawing on my past experiences on stage.”
