Pinoy K-Pop lovers rejoice! Korean Wave or Hallyu is definitely sweeping across the country like storm.

And the K-Pop fever in Manila is expected to reach a feverish 38°C as Korea’s hottest idol Kim Hyun Joong is coming to Manila together with Korean boy group BEAST for a concert titled “K-Pop Meets P-Pop: Kim Hyun Joong and Beast Live in Manila” at the Araneta Coliseum on June 19, 7pm.

A selca photo taken by Brown Eyed Girls Miryo (30) at the local elections attracts criticisms.

Miryo had participated in the voting for the 5th local elections on 2nd June, and posted up a photo of herself holding on to 4 voting cards on her Twitter. There were no indications of the votes on the voting cards revealed.

But the problem is, filming is prohibited at the voting stations – phones and cameras are not allowed at the voting stations. This is because of the ‘secret vote’ under a democratic election system. At the same time, those caught filming in the voting stations may be punished with fines of maximum 4 million KRW or imprisonment up to 2 years.

After the news reports came out, Miryo deleted the photo from her Twitter.

Following KBS, MBC also announced on the 20 May that KARA’s World Cup Song "We are with you" is inappropriate to be broadcasted on its channel.

KARA's World Cup Song "We are With You" is initially to be used for SBS world Cup Campaign, but now it is deemed to be more of an ad song to promote specific product which indirectly promote the broadcaster station itself.

Thus, KARA's world cup Song cannot be seen on both KBS and MBC music program. Netizens poured their conflicting views after hearing this news.

One netizen responded on entertainment board, "KARA's world cup song is to cheer as well, the decision to ban from broadcast is just too much." Another netizen too wrote "Broadcasting competition, only cause KARA to become victim."

However, there were also opposite opinion. One netizen "MBC and KBS decision to ban the broadcast not because of competition. Originally it is designed as background music for SBS campaign, of course (it's natural that) you can only hear the song from SBS."

Another Netizen also said, "Other promotional songs are not banned, It's a problem if only KARA's song is banned, but I can see others also get banned such as Kim Jang-hoon's song, Hwang SeonHeong Band's song all together are banned because of broadcasting competition."

Earlier on KBS, KT as well as SKT CF, respectively appeared Hwang Seon-Hong Band's 'The Shouts of Reds' and Kim Jang-Hoon's 'Ring one more time' also banned as it contains the nature of indirect advertising broadcast.

Super Junior's member Kyuhyun who is gaining popularity with 'Miinah' is getting a surgery for an inflammation in the middle ear.

Kyuhyun will have a surgery on the 3rd at a hospital in Seoul. Because he has to stay at the hospital for 3 to 4 days to rest, Super Junior who is scheduled to appear on the 4th and the 5th on KBS 'Music Bank' and MBC 'Show! Music Core' will perform 'Miinah' without Kyuhyun.

Kyuhyun who had the symptoms of the inflammation in the middle ear since he was a teenager, received a recommendation from the doctor to receive a surgery as the symptoms became worse. Because he is a member of Super Junior who is working all over Asia, Kyuhyun has decided to get the surgery to be able to more actively work overseas.

For the time being, Super Junior's 'Miinah' performance will exclude Kyuhyun as the decision for Kyuhyun to return to the stage will be made carefully by considering his health in recovery.

Meanwhile, Super Junior has conquered various chart including becoming number 1 in Hanteo month chart for May and taking the number 1 spot consecutively on KBS 'Music Bank' with their 4th album 'Miinah'

Many in Korea are headed for the polling station to cast their vote as it’s local election day, but the names that caught the eyes of most were members from popular idol groups like 2PM, 4minute, SHINee, SNSD and more!

On this day, one or two, three members from these groups came out and voiced their nationalism as they took part in the election process for the very first time.

The idols include 2PM’s Chansung, 4minute’s Gayoon, SHINee’s Jonghyun and Onew, with SNSD’s Sunny, Yoona and Yuri rounding up the basic lineup.

The WonderGirls were recently on KBS WinWin aired on 1st June when the MC asked them, “Don’t you want to date now?”.
