A selca photo taken by Brown Eyed Girls Miryo (30) at the local elections attracts criticisms.
Miryo had participated in the voting for the 5th local elections on 2nd June, and posted up a photo of herself holding on to 4 voting cards on her Twitter. There were no indications of the votes on the voting cards revealed.
But the problem is, filming is prohibited at the voting stations – phones and cameras are not allowed at the voting stations. This is because of the ‘secret vote’ under a democratic election system. At the same time, those caught filming in the voting stations may be punished with fines of maximum 4 million KRW or imprisonment up to 2 years.
After the news reports came out, Miryo deleted the photo from her Twitter.

Date: 2010-06-02 01:17 pm (UTC)It's illegal to take photos of yourself IN THE VOTING BOOTH where the ballots are, and not elsewhere. It says so in a damn large notice in the booth itself.
If you're willing to ignore an official notice like that regarding legality and rely solely on your own judgement on something as important like voting laws, I say you're most likely to ignore other "little" laws and regulations.
