YG Entertainment expressed that they had been staying away from promoting Park Bom's solo, just like Dara with her, Kiss single. Dara's song topped the various music charts, but did not go on any further other that. They had believed that a special promotion will throw them off focus from their November album release.

A representative from YG stated on the 2nd, "Recently, the release of 2NE1's new album got delayed, clearing the path for Park Bom to promote her single. Because of all the love we received, we will not be rushing to complete this (2NE1) album. We will work hard to make sure that every song is of a title song calibre."

Park Bom, obviously nervous for her very first stage without her fellow 2NE1 girls by her side, said "I am very happy these days, but feel ten times pressures. I will try my best to be beneficial to my 2NE1." She is currently in a heavy training day and night to keep her promise to be the best. Her anticipated stage will open its veils on November 8th on SBS Inkigayo.

SBS Producer denies YG bias

Netizens have been abuzz lately regarding special treatment the stars under YG Entertainment seem to be receiving from SBS. From the tremendous spotlight they received on Idol Big Show, as well as their special performances on Inkigayo, it's no surprise such controversy came up. Also, Inkigayo was the one that held almost all of YG artistes' comeback and debut stages. The accumulated time of their performances exceed the rest of the performing artists compared to MBC Show! Music Core and KBS Music Bank.

The producer, Park Sung Hoon, finally stood up to set the record straight on the first of November at Seoul SBS Public Hall. He stated, "We never offered YG to perform at our stage under the condition of appearing on no other music programs. I have started working with YG President, Yang Hyun Suk, only recently as I started working for Inkigayo. We have been cooperating together since 2NE1's debut stage and we seem to have a good chemistry."

Producer Park has been in charge of Inkigayo since January.

He also added, "We select the stars based strictly on their popularity, just like most of the other music programs do. We cannot deny the guarantee of appearances we give to the popular groups, such as Super Junior and SHINee."

In regards to criticisms on the Idol Big Show, aka the "YG Big Show," due to the majority of their show being centered around performances by Big Bang (G-Dragon) and 2NE1, he stated:

"We never favored YG artistes for the Idol Big Show. Because of their popularity, we asked them to sing two to three songs, just like the rest of the stars. I think people just think that they took the majority of the showtime because they all appeared consecutively toward the end of the show. Honestly, we offered other famous singers to sing more songs, but they rejected due to their busy schedules. The rumor about our favoritism toward YG is very unfair."

Return of 2PM, hot interest in whether or not Jaebum returns

2PM has officially announced their return after their leader Jaebum’s withdrawal from the group and their temporary halt in their activities. 2PM has released the teaser on the 31st and had officially announced their comeback. The countdown on the teaser website stops on Nov. 2nd, amplifying the anticipation.
Fans are uneasy about the end of the countdown and the meaning behind it. There are some speculations that this countdown might relate to Jaebum’s return, gathering a lot of attention and interest.

Moreover, on the 7th, 2PM’s management company JYPE is holding an audition in Seattle. It is a chance for Jaebum and JYP to discuss about a possible return. There is a lot of interest in this because of the closeness of both dates.
About the possibility of Jaebum’s return, JYPE had expressed, “We can’t reveal anything yet” and is keeping quiet. 2PM’s manager Jung Min had stated, “Besides the news of their first comeback stage on the 13th through KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’, I cannot say anything in detail.”
He had stated that he “could not reveal anything” about 2PM’s activities without Jaebum and have “nothing much to say as of now” about Jaebum’s return. Compared to September when JYP had expressed through the homepage about “2PM’s activity as six”, there is speculation that the possibility of Jaebum’s return to 2PM is higher.
Even about the audition in Seattle, JYPE had been careful about expressing their position. A JYPE staff stated, “The audtion is completely unrelated to Jaebum,” and added “As of now, I can’t reveal which JYP staff is going to Seattle and what kind of meeting will take place with Jaebum.”
On the other hand, some in the music industry forecast that a main staff from JYPE will visit Seattle and meet Jaebum one way or another. They believe that as the public opinion has changed positively for Jaebum’s return, even though it isn’t now, there is a possibility of a positive outcome in all of this.

Jung Yonghwa nearly involved in a car accident

Jung Yonghwa, currently acting in SBS ‘You’re Beautiful’ was shocked when he found out that the car heading towards his residence in Kangnam, Seoul after wrapping up filming in the SBS Tanhyun studio in Ilsan slipped on the rainy road and hit a guard rail.

Luckily for him,  for that particular day only, Jung Yonghwa decided not to take his own car , but instead took his colleague – Lee Hongki’s car home. Due to the rainy weather, Jung Yonghwa’s van was driving at a speed slower than normal. As such when the van hit the guard rail, no one was injured.

Jung Yonghwa’s company representative said ‘We’re really relieved that no one was hurt even though the accident took place on a slippery road’ ‘Usually when such accidents happen, people tend to think it’s an escape from misfortune so we’ll try to make light out of this accident’

Park Si Yeon on her “non-existence” in Family Outing

For those who are regular watchers of SBS Family Outing, you might have felt an emptiness throughout the show.

Park Si Yeon, wasn't seen for the most part, almost like she was an audience on set rather than a cast.

The criticisms from netizens had been rising, considering the fact that Park Si Yeon had been a replacement member. She had joined the team alongside Park Hae Jin after the exit of Park Ye Jin and Lee Chun Hee.

Park Si Yeon's agency, Eyagi Entertainment, finally made a statement towards the issue to defend her on the 2nd:

"Park Si Yeon injured her waist during a filming last year, and has been undergoing treatment ever since. She has not fully recovered yet. Unfortunately, during her recent Las Vegas shoot, her injury recurred, and she was told that a surgery was needed for a full recovery."

Wonder Girls and JYP to be on Golden Fishery together

The Wonder Girls, along with producer JYP will come together on the show Golden Fishery - Knee Slap Shaman. The filming for this particular episode took place at the end of October.

MBC stated that as soon as Wonder Girls returned to Korea, they got JYP and the girls together to film an episode to talk about their American experiences. The Wonder Girls shared different stories from trying to make it in America, while JYP talked about their plans / strategies / goals. With JYP's past experience on the show, he knew exactly how it would go.

This episode is scheduled to air on the 4th

Jonghyun Has Swine Flu!

Following SS501's Kim Hyun Joong, K.Will and 2AM's Jo Kwon, SHINee member Jonghyun has been diagnosed with swine flu!

On the night of November 2nd, Jonghyun had symptoms of a cold so he visited the hospital to get a check up. For precautionary measures he was given Tamiflu, but on November 3rd (today), he was declared positive with swine flu. Jonghyun is currently staying at home and resting.

Due to his health, Jonghyun will stop his activities with SHINee. SME has stated that for the time being, SHINee will promote Ring Ding Dong as a 4 member group.

'Heartbreaker' Gets Slapped With Parental Advisory Sticker

If you were planning on visiting Korea to buy G-Dragon's first solo album in person, don't count on it. That is...if you're a minor. On the morning of November 3rd (KST), G-Dragon's solo album Heartbreaker was declared unsuitable for children or anyone under the legal age (which is 19 in Korea).

After analyzing the lyrics of G-Dragon's songs "She's Gone" and "Korean Dream" off his album, officials deemed the lyrics too inappropriate for children. According to officials, "She's Gone" has an underlying suggestive meaning of drug use, while "Korean Dream" promotes an inappropriate "dream" of Korea. The title track of the album, "Heartbreaker," was said to be an automatic no-no for the young adult community. It's funny that they don't mention the most obvious one--"Breathe." G-Dragon clearly says, "You and me hardcore, baby. Let's do it some more. I can't breathe..." which I think is more suggestive than the other three songs.

These songs will not be available on television before 10pm, and his album cannot be purchased by anyone under the age of 19. The album, after selling nearly 200,000 copies by the end of September, will soon have the "19 only" sticker on it. Distributors who fail to comply will be issued a severe punishment or a heavy fine. Koreans seem to really take censorship seriously, don't they?

f(x)’s new song ‘Chu~♡’ Radiates of Cute Lively Charms

Hot Topic Rookie Group f(x) will reveal their title song 'Chu~♡' through music portal sites on the 4th, prior to the release of their first single album on the 9th.

The title song of the single, Chu~♡, is a Euro Pop Dance song which was made with the famous trendy feel which is popular in Europe, along with the drum sounds which are mainly used in African music.

In the lyrics, ‘Chu~♡' is an onomatopoeic representation of the word that expresses the sound. The lyrics is set in a fairy-tale motif and it is about the main character waking up from sleep with a kiss, and through the kiss the main character, filled with curiosity, wants to go out into the world. With the repetitive pronunciation of ‘Chu’, you can feel the exquisite toxicity.

Also f(x) will show their new song’s stage on the 6th for KBS2TV ‘Music Bank’, 7th for MBC ‘Music Core’, and the 8th for SBS ‘Inkigayo’.

SHINee says SM is a family

SHINee, who recently returned with their 3rd mini-album 2009, Year Of Us and title track Ring Ding Dong, has spoken up on behalf of SM Entertainment.

Joynews24 had conducted an interview with the members of SHINee and asked if they knew about them being called the "puppets" of SME.


SHINee responded with a resounding statement:

That's prejudice against SM Entertainment. SME gives us a lot of say and freedom. Even during our album preparations, they ask us for our opinions. The albums are released under our name and thus it is our music. The public appear to have a predjudice against idols. Just like how the same song, Chocolate Love, can be presented differently by two different groups, SNSD and f(x), we have our own opinion and own colour. The company supports us, no doubt. However, being forced to do something does not and should not happen.

SME helped us a lot in the beginning as we didn't really know what to do. But as we gained more experience, we start to express our opinions. The company reflects our opinions on many things such as the lyrics, pairing of members and our style. Without such supportive environment, we won't be able to sing our songs like we sing them now.


They also expressed their pride in their company:

SME listens to the artists' opinions and everyone is close, unlike other entertainment companies. Everyone respects each other and supports each other, just like you can see in Dream Concert or SM Concert. Artists of SME are trained well from the beginning to the point where people say that SME's artists are very well mannered.


Regarding f(x), a recent rookie group that debuted from SME, SHINee said:

We've seen them since they were trainees but didn't expect them to debut so quickly. Did not think Sulli would be so tall and beautiful, haha. Now we know what it feels like to have juniors, and we can see why groups that are senior to us have been so nice and caring to us. We're following the tradition by giving lots of advice to f(x).

Kim Min Jung leaves Hero

Actress Kim Min Jung will not be continuing as the leading lady of MBC's Hero opposite Lee Junki due to her prolonged shoulder injury.

We reported late last week that Kim Min Jung had been having problems with her right shoulder, having been diagnosed with calcified tendonitis.

Her injury had gotten so bad that she couldn't quite move her right arm fully and treatment had been taking longer than expected. With Hero only a week away from it's 11th November premiere, it was becoming increasingly impossible for Kim Min Jung to return to filming in the short term because of the excessive pain.

According to the production team, Kim Min Jung had herself submitted a request to leave the production on 31st October because of her injury. The production had been in lengthy meetings for the past two days to find a solution and they finally announced on 2nd November that they will accept Kim Min Jung's decision. With time running out and Kim Min Jung unlikely to return soon, there was no other alternative.

A production representative said, "It's going to be a very difficult task in seeking a replacement in the next few days, but we will do our best." With Kim Min Jung out of the picture, all the existing filming and promotional material will no longer be relevant. MBC is definitely going to have to conjure some magic in the next couple of days.
