Alex talks about his new book: A lifetime of memories, recalled through food

Whenever Chu Heon-gon, a member of the Korean pop group Clazziquai who goes by the name Alex, hears the word “nakji-bokeum”, it reminds him of the time he broke up with his girlfriend.

The 31-year-old can still vividly recall the tears streaming down his face while he finished the spicy dish of pan-broiled octopus and red pepper. However, the word “castella”, a type of sponge cake, will always remind him of his mother, as he often ate the sweet and moist cake as a child while waiting for her to come home from work.

The singer details these and other past experiences and memories associated with food in his recently published book, “Alex’s Spoon.” While he’s usually known for crooning to his fans on the stage, he’s no stranger to the kitchen. Fans had a chance to see a new side of Alex when he cooked on the celebrity reality show “We Got Married.”

Zhang Liyin's new MVs to feature Donghae & Henry

On October 15, Zhang Liyin's new teaser for her single was revealed on Sohu. Despite it only being 34 seconds long, it created a huge reaction from fans.

Since her debut, Liyin's MVs have mostly featured her seniors in her SM Entertainment company. In "Timeless" and "I Will", this girl with such outstanding vocal capabilities has seemed rather shy on-camera.

However, in Liyin's new single, "Sunny Day, Rainy Day", she not only acts in her own MVs, she also works with SJM's Donghae and Henry.

Donghae has worked with many female artists before in MVs and in commercials: BoA, Girls' Generation, Ariel Lin... The well-experienced Donghae now create "shocks" in Zhang Liyin's new single. How will the on-screen chemistry be like? A fresh MV shot after a rainfall to capture the calm peaceful mood, how was the shooting actually like?

Henry, being the member from SJM to have experienced the most change the past year, will now be given the opportunity to show his masculinity. This time, he guests in "Love Me", showing off his rapping skills, blending well with Liyin's vocals - a collaboration everyone will surely anticipate.

Liyin is to guest on Sohu's "Star Online" on the 19th at 2pm, as well as reveal the full MV then. She will discuss how it was like to work with SJM's Donghae and Henry.

Sexy singer/dancer who is known for her unstoppable charisma, Ivy, will finally be having her comeback this month!

On October 20 is when Ivy will release her ballad digital single (so look out for that, because that's real soon!) and October 29 is the release date for her new upcoming and highly anticipated comeback 3rd album.

Many fans are excited and expecting that Ivy will be having a powerful comeback and satisfy the audience with her 'Ivy' ballad style which will be taken up another level.

In other related news, Ivy has recently filmed a music video for her new upcoming digital single.

The cost for the music video is said to have been hefty as it was reported to be summed up to a total of 1 uhk and 50000000 Won (approximately $129150 USD) and total filming time of 28 hours. (Talk about quality!)

After shooting the music video, the music video staff has said they are confident that the music video's quality will surpass peoples expectations due to how Ivy never rested and worked her hardest throughout the shoot.

The reason why SS501's comeback was delayed in August

It has been a year and seven months since the five boys came together to record as a whole. From the Boys Over Flowers craze to their first world tour, SS501 is bigger, stronger and better than ever.

The group's new mini-album, Rebirth, was set for release in August. However, during the creative process of compiling the record, the title track ended up being an exact replica of another American song.

"We had a different title track, but it ended up being a plagiarism copy," says SS501, "If we ended up releasing it, we could have been in a lot of legal trouble."

SS501 received their ex-title song through an unknown agency. The group recorded the song, but by the end of their Japanese leg of the tour, they realized that there was another song very similar, and then it finally became official that the song was indeed a product of plagiarism.

"We're very sorry that it was delayed for such a long time," SS501 said to the fans, "It was a very hectic process, but we are satisfied with the results. We hope you like it as well. Please keep supporting us!"

The long awaited mini-album will be released on the 20th of October. The title song will be "Love Like This," first performed live in their Seoul concert back in August. Along with "Love Like This," there will be 4 brand new songs.

The boys recently wrapped up their Taipei concert with over 12,000 fans present.

Group Big Bang’s Taeyang made his first mark as a composer.

On the 15th, according to Taeyang’s management YG Entertainment, Taeyang, in a year and 5 months, found his fans with his digital single “Where U At.”

The music video, which was released at 11:00 that day, and the song, “Where U At,” was co-composed by Teddy and Taeyang with the story of imagining and longing for a future partner who could be living anywhere in the world.

TV Decency Rules to Be Tightened

The government is vowing stricter control on television materials amid growing viewer complaints over sex, violence and indecency.

Although the strengthened decency standards will be enforced to all national, local and cable channels, the Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) said, the dramas and game shows on national networks clearly seem to be the biggest targets.

It remains to be seen how television stations will react to the plan of heavier fines and sanctions, as they have been moaning that the commission's decency rules were vague and curbing creativity.

SNSD Causes Chaos in Vietnam

Talk about wild for SNSD! The group of goddesses have descended in Hanoi, Vietnam on the 18th for their concert held at the National Conventional Center hosted by Arirang TV.

SNSD safely arrived at the Noi Bai International Airport, although their safety quickly vanished after being greeted by a chaotic crowd of Vietnamese fans. How bad was it, you ask? Let's just say a few of our defenseless and fragile girls actually had to cover their breasts from being grabbed by their beastly fans. They literally lost their sanity when these eight girls (Yuri was absent) marched across a narrow pathway made by the security guards (although they didn't do a very good job). The rush of testosterone was just too much to keep suppressed.

SS501: “About Dong Bang Shin Ki, because we are colleagues it is saddening”

SS501 expressed their feelings about group Dong Bang Shin Ki amidst this time where they are in danger of disbandment.

During their 1st Asia concert tour Persona concert press conference in Taiwan Taipei on 17th October, SS501 said, “Dong Bang Shin Ki is the representative group in Korea, and now that they are in such an uncertain time, as colleagues we feel sad about it. We hope that the situation will turn out well eventually.”

SS501 and Dong Bang Shin Ki have been put in comparison since the 2 group’s debut. But recently with the ongoing trial between the 3 members from Dong Bang Shin Ki and their management company, SS501 has also shown concern to the situation.

SS501 also spoke about recent cases of idol group members and their mishaps and mistakes, “Even though a mistake is a mistake, sometimes we are also under a lot of finger-pointing. Even so, we feel that entertainers should be careful with their actions and words.”

Taecyeon and Wooyoung are back on Inkigayo

After nearly 5 weeks of hiatus, 2PM's beastly rapper Taecyeon and adorable goofball Wooyoung have finally made their long awaited return to SBS Inkigayo!

The two appeared on the show with new haircuts, hinting at a new start; Taecyeon had subtle wavy hair while Wooyoung rocked a bowl cut, claiming to be Inkigayo's "mascot". Taecyeon even showed off his sharp new self and busted out some moves to give the fans some reassurance. He also expressed his sorrow of KARA's last performance and dedicated a quick tribute of their famous "butt dance".

Appearing on the October 18th episode of the show, the two said, "We have our responsibilities as 2PM but also to our positions as MCs on Inkigayo. And to fufill these duties and promises to our fans, we have returned."
