200 Pounds Beauty: The Sequel coming soon!

It has been confirmed that a sequel to the 2006 Korean blockbuster hit "200 Pounds Beauty" (or literally in Korean "Being a Beautiful Woman is Painful") is currently in the works!

An official of KM Culture (the production company in charge of the film) revealed that the screenplay has been drafted and that the sequel's title will be (in Korean) "Being Mother and Daughter is Painful". Initially, there was plan to make the sequel a continuation of the first movie; however, the production company decided to make the sequel more of a spin-off.

For those of you who haven't watched the first movie, "200 Pounds Beauty" is centered around a female character's quest to win the love of a man by using plastic surgery. Though talented in singing, Hanna (Kim Ah Joong) is unsatisfied with her body image when her music producer & the object of her affections, Sang-Jun (Ju Jin Mo) completely ignores her. She then decides to go under the knife, getting a full-scale head-to-toe procedure that makes her become almost unrecognizable. Hanna, or Jenny, as she later renames herself, transforms into a pop star with all the beauty and talent in the world. She quickly finds out that being beautiful, however, doesn't only have good effects...

The sequel, which will be directed by Kim Jung Min, will deal with the conflicted relationship between a "plastic" mother and non-plastic daughter, who looks just like her mother pre-surgery. Who's looking forward to this?

I'm EXCITED for this! Although sequels are known to be not as good as the originals, I'm interested to see how this storyline rolls out!

Loveholics comes out with their new MV, "In the Air"

After JiSun's departure from Loveholic, the group has been renamed to Loveholics. Loveholics is made up of remaining guitarist Kang HyunMin and Bassist Lee JaeHak. Two singles has been released under their new identity, "Butterfly" and "Miracle Blue." Like the previous two singles, Loveholics has acquired the help of different vocalists for their new album, In The Air, released today, September 10, 2009. On this album, listeners may hear the voices of Whale (of W & Whale), Horan and Alex (of Clazziquai), and actress Shin MinAh to name a few.

Their sound is similar to the old Loveholic, but at the same time it has evolved. What made Loveholic unique was the way they incoporated experimental sounds to produce music pleasing to the ears. In comparison, Loveholics sticks with authentic sounds of instruments that put them in a different category. Their new sound is a mixture of Rock and Indie.

Each song is different. One main reason, with the exclusion of Whale, is that each song "plays" a different singer. The second track, "바람이 참 매섭다," is slightly reminiscent of Loveholic, but at the same time Whale's voice is not the same as Jisun's. For those familiar with Whale, this track shows a softer side to her voice. Another track similar to Loveholic is "Beautiful." To get the Loveholics experience, make sure to check out tracks 1 - Raining, 8 - 몰라야 할 말, and 9 - 나에게 그댄.

In The Air proves that Loveholics is able to comeback without Jisun. Although they lack a new lead vocalist, with their visible talent and background, no doubt they will find voices to create amazing songs. Loveholics decision to do without a lead vocalist, although it may be unintentional, is a different take on music; that is a fact.

Amidst of the criticisms against 2PM JaeBum, SHINee member Onew comes out to say, “JaeBum will definitelycome back” getting the attention from fans and netizens.

SHINee Onew has recently posted up a message to a fan about 2PM JaeBum who has left 2PM and also Korea on 8th September recently 4 days after the controversy from the revelation of his pre-debut messages posted on MySpace.

He wrote on UFOTown site, “JaeBum will definitely come back, himnae! 2PM is 7 members after all” when a fan posted a message to him “Oppa…What will happen to JaeBum, this is unbelievable”.

The controversy surrounding 2PM's leader Park Jaebeom never seems to never end. After his MySpace incident, he had resigned from the group and returned home to Seattle on the 8th.

Jaebeom's agency, JYP Entertainment, responded to this incident saying, "We ask that everyone will respect his decision".
Recently, however, Hottests are throwing back arguments to JYPE, saying 'the agency did not do enough to protect their singer (Jaebeom)' and blaming the whole controversy on the agency.

Yesterday, 60 2PM fan clubs worldwide made a joint statement saying, "We will not accept the actions of JYPE. We are angry that JYPE did not fulfill their duty as Jaebeom's agents to make an effort to protect him".

They also stated, "We all reject a 2PM without Jaebeom. 2PM fans to this day have been supporting a group of members including Park Jaebeom. All fan unions have agreed and concluded that we will boycott all events without Jaebeom. Anything to do with 2PM without Jaebeom, we will boycott".

Hottests continued, "We have decided to boycott the Dream Concert on 9th October, and all music released under JYP's name", and concluded, "All these actions will continue until Jaebeom is returned to his rightful position as a leader"

Rookie singer Taegoon who launched a successful debut in January this 2009 with “Call Me” and continuing his success with “Superstar” has been chosen for the third time to model for clothing apparel Dressed To Kill. After doing Spring and Summer 2009 shoot, Taegoon along with Afterschool have been chosen for Fall and Winter 2009.

The campaign will begin late September. Meanwhile, Taegoon is expected to make a comeback with the third mini album next week with Afterschool following the next month. Incidentally, Afterschool’s Joo-Yeon is also in the MV for the title track, Betrayed.

After School, excluding UEE, has rarely been seen in public after ending their Diva promotions and that collaboration with Son Dambi for Samsung Amoled. Well, they are now back modeling for fashion apparel, Dressed to Kill.

After School had been chosen as the advertising models for 2009 F/W Dressed To Kill collection and were at a Gangnam studio on the 7th for the photoshoot. The concept of the photoshoot saw the After School members showing off a modern and sexy look. Even though this was their first time doing such product endorsements, they were able to do it just like professional models.

A representative said, "We decided on After School as our models because they have a hidden sexy aura within them and it fits in with our brand image very well".

After School will be making a comeback this October.

Group 4Minute sets a new dance trend with their DJ dance.

4Minute said in their interview recently, “Our performance this time, the point is the DJ dance. It is a pose where you are like a DJ and you spin the LP listening to the music.”

The dance step is shown in the girls’ comeback song ‘Muzik’. And it features the girls hold one hand to the ears, and using the other hand to do the action of spinning the LP.

Because the dance step is easy to follow, it has also become a ‘daebak’ (big hit) dance where everyone can acknowledge to. And videos of the girls doing the DJ dance has received over tens of thousands of views on Youtube.

Besides this, there is also another dance receiving much interests from music fans. The ‘hold my hand’ dance which shows the girls spreading their arms and signaling the opposite party to hold the hand is another highlight dance to the song together with the DJ dance.

4Minute said, “This is the name we came up as a joke amongst members. Even though the title to the dance is long, there is no one word to explain the dance. It is fun and easy to remember.”

Meanwhile, 4Minute released their 1st minialbum For Muzik on 28th August, and the song ‘Muzik’ off the album is going very well up music charts together with other hits like GDragon’s ‘Heartbreaker’ at #1 and #2 positions.

At 2PM on September 10th, FTTS's Brian, SJ's Shindong, SS501's Kim Hyungjoon and 2AM's Jokwon have had a MC interview at SBS conference room for their new SBS environment protection show "Find it ! Green gold".

The 4 said "We are environment protectors G4 (Green 4)" and through the show, they want to learn about the importance of environment and thus, they can practice those knowledge in their daily life.

Shindong said "Teenagers and kids after watching us will be able to do like in the show [Find it ! Green gold] too" and "I hope that the kids will have more knowledge about environment later on"

Shindong also talked about his plan to diet again "Through this chance, I also think of starting my diet plan. In fact, last time I had lost 20kg but I had gained weight again later". He said "Although environment and diet don't have any relation at first sight but surprisingly, they have many relation in content....because of the show, I have to ride bike and travel a lot...so PD-nim had decided that water, bike and some matter that having relation with diet will be subject of the show, thus I plan to be loose weight again"

It is known that drinking enough water and riding bike are good method to loose weight, but Shindong also said "I haven't had a final decision of diet yet, but once I decide to do, I will let the fans know for sure"

The 1st episode will be aired at 6.25PM on September 14th.

SNSD's Yuri transformed into a mesmerizing tango dancer.

In the recent recording of SBS 'Incredible Competition Star King,' Yuri surprised everyone by transforming into a sensual Argentinian tango dancer.

With fancy footwork supplemented by 100% live music, Yuri was able to represent Argentina and it's original tango fever. Argentina is famously known as the home of tango dancing.

Wearing a sparkling black one-piece dress, Yuri seemed to emanate a more earnest look while she tangoed with a professional dancer. The two received tremendous applause as they danced in synchrony with no mistakes.

The young professional dancer even complimented Yuri and called her 'the most beautiful senorita (miss) of Korea's best girl group' after having the opportunity to dance with her on stage.

Yuri's gorgeous transformation that mesmerized even the original tango team will be revealed in the broadcasting of SBS 'Star King' on September 12 at 6:40PM.

GMF (Grand Mint Festival) is a festival that takes place every year (I think?) it goes two days (24./25.10) and is full packed of Indie bands and singer, mostly korean, but also some foreign like Maximilian Hecker, Sunshine State, Hideki Kaji etc. This year artists like No Reply, Mate, Jang Gi Ha and the faces, Naru, Serengeti, Vodka Rain, Hot Potato, My Aunt Mary etc. are supposed to come. you can watch the 3rd line up trailer here. the 4th line up will be on 24th I think.
