LPG to reappear as Son DamBi for their debut stage

Female group LPG 2nd generation will appear for their debut stage in Son DamBi’s ‘Crazy’ performing costumes.

The girls will be performing for the ‘Heroes’ corner on Mnet M!Countdown on 16th July transforming as singer Son DamBi.

LPG will has also learnt the dance steps to the song from After School member GaHee who is also from the same company as Son DamBi.

LPG will also have their comeback stage with the song ‘Jang DongGun Lee Hyori’ on the show today.

Han Hyo-joo Dating Actor-Businessman

Han Hyo-joo, who shot to stardom for her title role in ``Brilliant Legacy,'' a popular weekend SBS drama, has been dating actor and businessman Kang Do-han over the past four months, Sports Hankook reported Thursday.

The report said the two met earlier this year after being introduced by acquaintances and have become closer more recently. Han and Kang have reportedly been spotted dating at a horse-riding range in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, where the actor serves as a marketing director, among other places.

The sports and entertainment newspaper said Han visited the range about 10 days ago with a pair of lunch boxes and Kang introduced the actress to his acquaintances there. The range is operated by Kang's elder brother.

Han has been in the spotlight for her brilliant performance in ``Brilliant Legacy" whose viewer rating surpassed 40 percent recently. She is now flooded with requests for advertising contracts thanks to her popularity.

Kang made his film debut in 2003 with ``Silmido'' and has since appeared in several TV dramas.

Han, 22, affliated with Fantom Entertainment Group, made her debut in the sitcom ``Nonstop 5.''

2NE1 revealed about they think about group Big Bang and their president Yang Hyun Seok.

They said in a recent interview, “Yang HyunSeok is like a father to us, he takes care of us and he treats us very warmly.”

They said, “He takes care of the details personally from our clothes to ou cheoregraphy. When we meet he would ask ‘have you eaten”, showing us a very fatherly side of him.” They are thankful that Yang HyunSeok is the president of the company who would be with them for at least 1 -2 hours of their 10 hours of practice everyday.

Super Junior Sungmin & The TRAX Jungmo had revealed their ideal girl type.

On the show MBC “Golden fishery – Radio star” which was aired on July 15th, the guests are “Oppa band” members : Tak Jaehoon, Shin Dongyup, Yoo Youngseok, Sungmin, Jungmo. MC Kim Gura said “There are 3 MCs that had married : Shin Dongyup, Nam Heeseok, Tak Jaehoon” and “their wives are PD, dentist, rich family’s daughter” and asked among them, who is your ideal girl type, Jungmo said “It’s a dentist. Since it’s good for me when I think about my old age in the future”. And Sungmin said “I really envied Tak Jaehoon hyung because there was a time I came to his house and (his wife) cooked so well” & “I like a rich family’s daughter” which the others said in one voice “You only see the good side”.

New singer ST. Day goes up to #3 in just 1 day into release of his title song

New singer ST.Day has been the hot topic newcomer amongst netizens.

He released his debut song ‘Afraid’ off his first single album ‘Balines’ on 7th July and the song went up to the #3 spot on Cyworld music chart on 8th July.

The newsinger’s company said, “We are very surprised and excited that the song received such good responses.” Much anticipation to his future promotions of his debut single album.

ST. Day was featured in KCM’s compilation album released in 2008 and a while back he has also performed as a guest performer for Son HoYoung’s concert in Seoul ‘Stars on Stage ~ Son HoYoung’.

His debut title song ‘Afraid’ is a R&B ballad made by Han SangWon who also did many great hits for singers like SS501, V.O.S and Jewelry etc.

Yoga School’s dark and twisted (ha ha) teaser poster

That’s the official promo poster for the upcoming film Yoga School [요가학원], and with the horror-meets-yoga theme, I see what they were going for. Perhaps inadvertently, however, the effect strikes me as a lot more comical than scary, with a hint of camp — which is all right with me. (What do you think: does it seem creepy and chilling, or just look like bad Photoshop?)

The movie began its promotions last month with an open set day, where its leading ladies showed off some of their yoga skills at the “mysterious, secretive” school that provides the backdrop for the plot. The stars are Eugene, Cha Soo-yeon, Park Han-byul, Jo Eun-ji, Lee Young-jin, Kim Hye-na, and Hwang Seung-un, and their characters seek out the school for its promise of perfect beauty. Korea's most anticiptated new singer, Taegoon, said that TVXQ's Jaejoong has strong willpower, considering him a real senior.

Last 11th of July, Taegoon held a fanmeeting and concert in Japan, and before this fanmeeting happened, there was a short interview.

- The MV of your debut song "Call Me" had TVXQ's Jaejoong as part of the cast. Please talk about your experience.
I called Jaejoong on the phone and said, "I'm going to film my MV, please do come and help." (laughs) To me, I didn't know how good it was to be cast on an MV, but because Jaejoong was my best friend, I didn't think much about it, but the people around me kept on saying, "Jaejoong is going to be on the MV!" On the day of filming, we filmed, but played then headed home. (laughs)

- With regards to your Japan debut, how will you look at TVXQ and Big Bang activities?
I wish to learn more about Japan's music, therefore, I would like to have people seeing me dance with smiles and happiness. And besides, TVXQ and Big Bang are my seniors (laughs). Calling Jaejoong that gives me another feeling. (laughs) Their song and dance are the best, aren't they? Jaejoong is my best friend, but as an artist, he's my senior (laughs) and I respect him very much much. During the "Call Me" promotions, Jaejoong called and scolded me on the phone. He's always helping me, as a strong-willed senior. For a Korean star to be having such success in Japan, I feel that they're Korea's pride.

Singer Catches H1N1 Flu in Thailand

Baby V.O.X.

A member of the third-generation of Baby V.O.X. is under careful watch as to whether she has the H1N1 influenza after a promotional tour to Thailand, said record company DR Music Thursday.

The group was in Bangkok for a promotional tour from July 9 to 11 after which the member, identified by the last name Kim, caught a fever and began showing cold symptoms Wednesday. She arrived at the Gangnam public clinic Thursday afternoon, where she has been examined and quarantined. The clinic has not diagnosed her with having contracted flu, but will give it a week before determining whether her symptoms are those of full-fledged H1N1 influenza.

The members were tested after the news that the Thai DJ who interviewed the girl-group has been quarantined with the influenza, a spokesman from DR Music said.

Baby V.O.X., a popular South Korean female band, has been making an effort to become a multi-national group. This is their third re-incarnation after they first debuted in 1997 and are currently searching for their last member from abroad. Auditions will be held in Thailand on Aug. 15 and in China on Sept. 15.

Rain to Return With Asian Tour

Singer and actor Rain will wipe away the summer heat with his upcoming Asian tour "Legend of Rain" this August.

Starting in Japan, the concert will tour China and Southeast Asia, where the 27-year-old singer is popular, according to the singer's agency J.Tune Entertainment.

"(The title) shows his determination to become a legendary icon representing this period," the agency said through a press release.

The event has been in preparation ever since Rain's fifth album release, which was a year ago, and the singer is planning to show his multiple talents as an entertainer by participating in the overall concert planning.

"Legend of Rain" is his first tour in two years, and the agency stressed that they are planning a grand event to not only wow Asian fans, but fans around the world as well.

An agency official added that the event was to originally to visit more countries, but was downsized due to the promotion tour for the singer's upcoming film "Ninja Assassin." The movie is slated for release on Nov. 25.

Rain is planning to meet fans from regions he has never been to, and was quoted as saying that he hoped to meet as many fans possible through the concert. Organizers added that a Seoul concert will take time to confirm.

Meanwhile, Rain is holding a special fan meeting on July 26 at Kyung Hee University to meet fans prior to the concert.

Is sex by birth a qualification for a beauty pageant?

It appears not, as a male-turned-female transsexual has passed the preliminary stage of the 2009 Super Model Contest.

Choi Han-bit, 23, was among 50 participants selected from a list of 1,200 candidates at the preliminary stage of the contest on July 2. She still has to pass another preliminary on July 28 to be included in the final selection, but if she does, Choi will be Korea's first transsexual super model.

A dance major at the Korea National University of Arts, Choi underwent a sex change operation in 2006, and was legally recognized as a woman by a court. She also changed her name from Han-jin to Han-bit.

After grabbing the public's attention, she said on her blog, "This is only the beginning. I have not lived in a vain hope. I just believed that I can be happy and I can do it."
