Yoga School’s dark and twisted (ha ha) teaser poster

That’s the official promo poster for the upcoming film Yoga School [요가학원], and with the horror-meets-yoga theme, I see what they were going for. Perhaps inadvertently, however, the effect strikes me as a lot more comical than scary, with a hint of camp — which is all right with me. (What do you think: does it seem creepy and chilling, or just look like bad Photoshop?)

The movie began its promotions last month with an open set day, where its leading ladies showed off some of their yoga skills at the “mysterious, secretive” school that provides the backdrop for the plot. The stars are Eugene, Cha Soo-yeon, Park Han-byul, Jo Eun-ji, Lee Young-jin, Kim Hye-na, and Hwang Seung-un, and their characters seek out the school for its promise of perfect beauty. The film opens on August 20.

has anyone lost weight doing yoga?

i signed up for 2 weeks of Burkam yoga to get ROCK HARD ABS but have been coming home feeling dirty and defeated :(

it's bikram yoga. and yes you can lose weight doing yoga if you watch what you eat. Bikram will sweat ya out and work ya out. don't think too much about your fellow yogis in Birkam because they are most likely competitive and been doing it for a while. so no judgement about what's going on in your mat if you are just started.
as for the dirty...take a shower. lol.

Camp as heck, but we Koreans have no problem with camp. In fact, we embrace it shamelessly, which makes it simply awesome. (Hee.)
That being said, I have no intention of seeing this movie, because no matter how camp a Korean horror film may be, even it it isn't scary when you see it and you laugh your behind off; it'll come back to haunt you again and again and again afterwards.

IA. I think I said it in the Wishing Corridors post that Korean horror is both comedic and scary shit. Very pastiche like. I tend to laugh nervously or giggle at Korean horror movies when I'm watching it, but after I'm done with it.... shit son.
