On the filming of Discovery of Recitation (a literary program) Goo Hye Sun admitted to being hurt by the treatment she received because of her being an ‘ulzzang star’. She said that she was so thankful of her parents who supported her through the harsh times. She then went onto read a story from her latest book, “Tango”. She started tearing up after the reading and the audience cried along with her.

During the filming, Goo Hye Sun also revealed her practice notebook that she used during her trainee days. The notebook was filled with detailed notes on what she needed to improve, interviews of the actors she looked up to, acting tips, among others.

Comedian Kim Hyun Chul who appeared in MBC "quiz that changes the world" (Sebakwi) is getting a lot of criticisms after his question to Nichkhun of 2PM, whether he was an illegal immigrant or not.

Kim Hyun Chul appeared in "Sebakwi" with Nichkhun on the 9th. The foreign singer Nichkhun said "My friend's mom watches this show a lot. She wanted me to be a regular in this show" and showed his interest in being part of the program.

Then Kim Tae Hyun,who was sitting next to Kim Hyun Chul, brought laughter to the studio by addressing that Kim Hyun Chul became very uncomfortable by what Nichkhun said, and that he told Kim Tae Hyun to find out whether Nichkhun is a illegal immigrant or not.

Previously, there were talks about how their ‘Fire’ MV plagiarizes singer M.I.A ‘Jimmy’ MV concept, now they are moving on to say that the group even copy of M.I.A’s fashion concept.

Suicide Problem May Not End Soon

As a general rule of thumb, economic distress causes higher suicide rates.

History bears this out. The Great Depression in the 1930s saw the U.S. suicide rate jump from 14 to 17 people per 100,000. World Health Organization's statistics show that Canada's suicide rate climbed from 11.3 to 12.4 in the mid-1970s when the oil crisis made its impact felt.

In New Zealand, sharply rising unemployment figures in the late 1980s and early 1990s coincided with an increase in the suicide rate from 10.3 to 15.3. Japan, Hong Kong and Korea all saw more suicides following the Asian financial crisis in 1997-98. And for what it's worth, in the 12 months after Hurricane Katrina left the area in and around New Orleans in shambles, the coroner's office reported that the suicide rate tripled.

It's little surprise then that Korea has seen a spate of suicides in recent months. One can easily point to the battered economy as the culprit. Or can we?

Actually, Korea's most recent prevalence for suicide hasn't needed much encouragement from global economic woes. Back in 2006, Korea led all OECD countries with 21.9 suicides per 100,000. By 2007, according to the National Statistics Office, the suicide rate was up to 24.8. This upsurge occurred at the same time as presidential hopeful Lee Myung-bak was wooing voters with promises of economic growth. Unemployment figures were still holding steady. It hasn't been until quite recently that unemployment reached a high of 4 percent.

2PM recently won their first #1 on music programme on 7th May on Mnet M!Countdown with their comeback hit song ‘Again&Again’.
And their fans have been on celebrating and congratulating spree on the win on their noticeboard.
The fans, including overseas fans, posted up various contents to congratulate the boys on their noticeboards – videos of them following the song’s choreography, congratulation placards etc.

2PM also responded, “We are very thankful to have received all these congratulations letters and gifts. Because of all the love that fans are showering on us, we will work harder in the future.”

Super Junior’s Kyuhyun & Sungmin challenged as Dads to take care 11 babies

They both will experience how to be a good dad through this childcare experience.

Recorded today, May 12 for KBS1TV 사랑의 가족 “Family Love”, Kyuhyun and Sungmin took on the challenge to take care of 11 disabled children at a childcare community, located in Gwanak-gu, Seoul.

They both will do household chores, such as washing the blankets, wash up and give the children a bath, making some snacks, put them for a nap and many other ‘challenging’ experience in childcare.

Sungmin seemed to have more confidence in dealing with kids, as he’s more experienced than Kyuhun. But with disabled children, they have to take extra care of everything. And as the time goes by, they both got the hang of it and seemed to have developed an attachment and deep affection for these lovely children.

At the facility, they both were kept busy and had a great time. They even made ddukbokki for snacks, after giving them milk, playing with them, and did a special performance of Super Junior.

This special program 사랑의 가족 starring Super Junior’s Kyuhyun and Sungmin will be aired on KBS1 on May 13 at 4:10pm

Super Junior member Lee Donghae has attracted a lot of attention when he said if “Sorry sorry” album wasnt successful, he would buy a boat and make living by going fishing.

On the KBS2TV “Star Golden bell” episode which was aired on May 9th, Donghae has revealed that “Sorry sorry” album was received a lot of love from fan, but otherwise, he would buy a boat and make living by go fishing.

Donghae said “I was born in Mokpo. Really, if this album wasnt successful, I would buy a boat and make living by going fishing”. Besides, Donghae also said sorry to the other members “I want to say sorry to Yesung hyung. Yesung hyung made a lot of cute jokes to us dongsaeng but I always show a dislike manner, I’m sorry”, hence made everybody laughing.

When were asked which member in Shinhwa that you respect, Kyuhyun, Yesung said it’s Shin Hyesung; Shiwon & Donghae said it’s Eric. Kyuhyun said “Because Shin Hyesung hyung had introduced many professional gamers to me (after knowing) I like game a lot“

Any hardcore We Got Married fans want to date Andy?

Looks like the poor guy needs some loving. One of the beloved husbands on WGM has been single for seven years now. He confessed on KBS2 Star Golden Bell that this will be his seventh year as a single bachelor.

Seems like he's just a shy guy who waits for the right girl. Andy said that the girl he dated seven years ago was his last girlfriend and that it took him a month to ask her out and even then he needed some "liquid courage" to confess his feelings

In the meantime, Andy is currently working on the new drama "The Two Wives" with new baby momma hottie Son Tae Young.

New singer AJ speaks up about having the same name as Paran member.

He said in a phone interview, “I was told a while back that I have the same name as a member of group Paran. For us, the name is derived from ‘Ace Junior‘ hence the meaning to the names is different.”

“I feel that it is not right to criticise a singer just on the reason that he/she has the same name as another. So in Korea, there should just be one singer with the name of Lee Seung Cheol? So singer Park Ji Yoon should change her name because there is an announcer called Park Ji Yoon?”

“Of course we have to think in the shoes of Paran fans. But I see no big problem to having the same name.” Meanwhile, some Paran fans are unhappy that this new singer AJ has the same name as the Paran member.

DJ Shine returns to the limelight

After 4 long years of being MIA after bailing out on Tiger JK of ‘Drunken Tiger’, DJ Shine has returned to the scene with a solo single-album, ‘Right Round’.

What’s interesting is that DJ Shine will be doing a Korean cover version of Flo Rida’s- ‘Right Round’. As for the featuring female vocalist, they have chosen Noh Si-hyun of the ballad singing trio, ‘Gavy nj’. Would she even be capable of “digesting” Kesha’s parts in ‘Right Round’ with such a nasally voice? Well, were just gonna have to wait and see. Nonetheless, it looks like ‘Warner Music Korea’ felt that Whee-sung’s cover of Craig David’s-Insomnia was a big success and also believe that future project’s will be just as successful.

A representative of ‘WMK’ stated:

Earlier this year, Craig David and Whee-sung’s project single ‘Insomnia’ received lots of love from the public so we’ve decided to make this single our second project. We also plan to continue working on more collaborative single’s such as these in the future”.

DJ Shine, who is no longer part of the ‘Movement’ will release his single-album on the 14th. Hopefully this isn’t the “dream” he wanted to accomplish when he bailed out on Tiger JK; doing cover’s of other rapper’s music.

Kim Joon, was tricked by his team members on hidden camera for ‘MBC Everyone-Teacher’s Coming’. The concept of the show is to surprise celebrities by re-uniting them with their childhood teachers, without letting them know in advance.

So, in order to trick poor Kim Joon, the T-max members led him into believing they were doing a summer vacation themed photo shoot for a magazine. For the photoshoot, they put the singer in “smokey” make-up and made him do ridiculous poses. Imagine the tough ‘Song Woo-bin’ character from ‘BOF’ getting kissed by his team members while doing the frog leap as he croaks “ribbit ribbit” and doing the doggy paddle in the sand. Can you picture it?

Well, that’s exactly what you’re gonna see him doing on the show. Kim Jun will be re-united with his junior high school teacher on ‘MBC Everyone-Teacher’s Coming’ this coming 11th.

Singer Lee Jung Hyun had the participation of pop star Britney Spears’ costume team for her MV filming.

More still cuts to her upcoming MV were revealed. Different from the previous set of ‘white goddess’ concept MV still cuts, this time the concept was black. Lee Jung Hyun was seen posing with male models in a black costumes.

The MV will be released the same time with her upcoming minialbum ‘Avaholic’. The dance choreography to the song will be done by Brian Friedman, and an audition seeing over 4000 dancers for the hook part of the song was held.

Lee Jung Hyun will have her comeback on the 19th.

2009 Xports Celebrity Baseball League

The 2009 season of Xports Celebrity Baseball League, sponsored by Korea Baseball Sports For All, kicked off with a tournament on May 10.

The 10 teams are called Han, MBC Talent, Starbox, 5DoC (pronounced Odoshi), ManChang (Man-shin-chang-ee, also referred to as MC), Gi, Alien Baseball Team, Zoma Zoma, Albatross, and Cool Guy. Han’s celebrity athletes include Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hwi Jae, and Jung Joon Ha. Oh Ji Ho, Song Chang Ui, and Kim Sung Soo play for Albatross. Some famous models are members of Cool Guy.

There are 10 entertainers’ teams in the league’s fourth year, which include Zomazoma, Han, and Albatross. The regular season begins on May 11 and continues until September, upon which the top five teams go into the major group and the other five teams go into the minor group for post-season in October. During the regular season, there are approximately two to three games per month, played on weekends. There are plans to broadcast between 35-40 of the games on television.

Thirteen member idol group Super Junior's Yesung said that among the members, he is the one who lacks recognition and, "From now on I will change (myself). I will reborn as an entertainment person," hence showing his ambition.

On the SBS "Yashimmanman 2" which was aired on May 11th, Yesung was the guest on "유.치.장(유머가 판치는 장 - The place excels at humour), he has been announced as "The new face" and said "I'm the least popular among the members. I'm still a new face to the viewers."

Yesung said, "I'm only good at talking with the other members" and "When we perform as 13 on the stage, there are members who are not well known. My singing part in 'Sorry, Sorry' is just 6 seconds. I'm not well known because it's too quick."

But from now on, he joked that he'll change his name into "Yeneung" (means entertainment) and promises to become a entertainment person.

Yesung received praise from Kang Hodong when he showed his skill of imitating Kim Gunmo as well as other sunbaenim singers. He also revealed his story of hearing the rebuke and getting hurt, thus showing everybody an entertainment person's charm.

Lee Min Jun who played Goo Joon Pyo 's fiancee role in the popular drama Boys Before Flowers attened the Good Buy lauch event.

Meanwhile, spending a good campaign,  Good Buy campaign sold red heart-shaped boxes and part of the proceeds will go to a fund to fight global poverty.
