As if talking about it for once is not enough, netizens continue on a spree about the plagiarism issues on YG upcoming 2NE1’s debut.

Previously, there were talks about how their ‘Fire’ MV plagiarizes singer M.I.A ‘Jimmy’ MV concept, now they are moving on to say that the group even copy of M.I.A’s fashion concept.

Netizens comparing the fashion concept of M.I.A with that of 2NE1.

There are also talks about how the ‘diaper suit’ that Park Bom was in for their new photoshoot is a ripoff from M.I.A’s during Grammy Awards 2009 (gosh she looks so cool even though she is pregnant).

Netizens say:

* “I mean there are always times when things look a little alike”
* “This is irritating. All the comparisons and accusations of plagiarisms. This is Korea. And these girls are trying to debut, give them a break”
* “Gosh. To be honest. This is getting worse and worse.”
* “This is not plagiarising, but parody?”
* “You guys have just a lot to say about these girls debuting?”
* “They really look alike”
* “It’s the stylists’ fault! Copycats”
* “Aigoo can’t our country come up with some idea special to our own?”
* “Instead of plagiarising, isn’t this more like inspiration?”

as much as i love maya, the style comparisons are a little thin. i think they're trying to capture and mimic her vibe, but it's not like they're ripping outfits straight from her wardrobe.

in any case, i hope this is exposing m.i.a. to people who didn't know her before. maybe she's gained a few fans in both south korea and the international kpop fandom?

they hardly look alike. in fact, the first two pictures have NOTHING in common.
but the other two- god forbid someone wears a feather/fur boa when MIA is wearing a fur coat. and oh no, god forbid someone outlines the boobs, waist and where your legs go on a dress.
so stupid

this one i think is a little bit of a stretch (m.i.a. started fashion trends with like everyone in general), though i'm sure they do want swagger like m.i.a. REALLY bad.

the point is.. when it comes down to it they're still a pop girl group.
you don't have swagger until you have creative control over everything you do; which obviously they don't (and maybe can't).
you can blame the stylists, but without them i don't think they'd be anywhere at all either. so...

ITA with this so hard.

Netizens are really insane. And besides, it's not that hard to "copy" M.I.A's style. Just throw on whatever.

LOLZ. Here we go again. God, the netizens notice too much unimportant stuff.

Many people copy other people's style. ^^. I DO :))

oh wow.. because MIA so started this type of fashion.

srsly, just cuz there's similarity, doesn't mean its instant plagiarism. wtf?

I don't see it as the same as MIA. I do agree with people when they say it's similar to GDragon though.

it's quite stupid to just go around saying they're copying m.i.a... thay could be copying anyone really... as long as they could pull it off =/
my only problem with their fashion choices is that it just seems too out of place and even ridiculous due to their status and type of music. it just doesn't fit.
m.i.a looks fab, 2ne1 doesn't ):

I mean no harm or disrespect, but I don't see the big fuss about m.i.a. She really isn't doing anything other "rappers" haven't done, and what she is doing ,really isn't that good. I youtubed her, and got nothing from it.

fashion is taking others ideas and making them yours

i agree that they're just copying the overall vibe. the outfits, whatever. i think they went a little too far with the MV, though.

BUT TOTALLY THE SAME 0_00000

hardly anything is straight up original anymore, really. everything's going to originate from something that existed already.

the netizens have just taken this m.i.a. comparison and ran with it. sigh.
