Big Bang’s girls are on fire.

2Ne1’s debut music video, “Fire” has already gotten 1 million hits since its debut on May 6th. Just over half a million peeps clicked on the “space” version of the song. The girls are gearing up to perform their debut stage on SBS “Inkigayo” on May 17th.

We predict that the catchy tune will easily reach #1 …. but you could have predicted that too.

(and netizens were actually mad at that.. whut) But they're back with a date for their comeback single, May 12th.



However, middle man Ilgoon is absent from their promo picture, but nothing official has been said on whether or now he's still with the group.

Choi Min-soo Cast for Hollywood Movie

Top South Korean actor Choi Min-soo has been cast for a role in an upcoming Hollywood action movie, his wife said Wednesday.

Choi is currently in Denver, United States, shooting scenes for Serpent Rising, an action thriller directed by Larry Riggins and starring Julian Lee, an emerging Korean-American actor, Yonhap News Agency reported, quoting Choi's wife Kang Joo-eun. Choi plays Karl Kim, one of the government agents in the movie.

The 47-year-old actor has shunned the local film industry since being implicated in an alleged battering of an elderly man last April. He was cleared of all charges last month.

Serpent Rising will crank up by the end of this month, and is aiming for a global release this year.

G-Dragon Back to Korea This Weekend at the Earliest, Doing Well in Europe

Big Bang’s G-Dragon (Real Name Kwon JiYong), who left to vacation in Europe recently, is enjoying the vacation to the fullest and having a happy time.

YG Entertainment said in a phone call with Newsen on the 7th, “Starting from the UK and going around Europe, G-Dragon is taking a break. We have received word that he is doing very well. We have not set a precise date for him to come back to Korea, but at the earliest, he could come back this weekend.”

G-Dragon left for Europe a while ago. Yang Hyun Seok has recently revealed through the official homepage that G-Dragon had spent day-to-day being busy after Big Bang’s debut, and as a result of that, his mind was worn out, and the solo album which was projected to be in April was postponed. Yang was also worried because G-Dragon had symptoms that were similar to depression indicating that he was in a sort of slump.

However, YG Entertainment said, “He was back to his normal self before he went to Europe,” and “Although he may be somewhat fatigued, his mind and body has gotten better.”

On the internet, a picture of G-Dragon having a joyful time in Europe attracted a lot of attention.

Also, YG Entertainment asserts that “G-Dragon is keeping up his good condition to the point that fans will not have to worry,” and “In the future as well, we ask for lots of encouragement.”

WonderGirls member SunMi has recently cut her hair to shoulder-length short.

She sent out greetings to fan recently on 6th May on their official fan cafe. And fans immediately spotted her new hair, much different from her previously long locks.

She has all along been spotting long natural locks. And with a change of a hairstyles, she looks really cute and pleasant. Netizens and fans’ responses, “Really cute”, “She suits short hair as much as long hair”, “As compared to SunMi with thick makeup, I prefer SunMi who looks pure and innocent.”

JunJin to work with both Lee Shi Young and Son DamBi for comeback minialbum

Singer JunJin’s new minialbum ‘Fascination’ is set to be released on 7th May. He will also follow to have his comeback stage on MBS Music Core on 9th May.

With that, it is known that his make-believe wife on MBC We Got Married Lee Shi Young will be giving him support for the album. She will be doing a featuring for the song ‘Like A Fool’. And other than that, she will appear for JunJin’s new MV, acting alongside JunJin in it.

JunJin revealed on 6th May, “For the filming of the MV, Lee Shi Young had worked overnight for 3 nights. I am very thankful to that.”

Not only Lee Shi Young, singer Son DamBi will also be featured in the minialbum in the title song ‘Hey!Ya’.

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that JunJin had hurt his ankle after hurting his wrist recently. And he had went for surgery for them. But even if his injuries, JunJin’s promotional activities for his minialbum will have to be carried given that he is on a tight schedule.

Jon Huer's April 25 article, "Why Is English So Difficult for Koreans to Master?", is frankly quite disturbing, not because of his bleak outlook for English education in Korea, but because most of his assumptions rest on stereotypes and outright falsifications.

Let me briefly point out some of his errors and then offer my own suggestions as to why the English language has not thrived in Korea.

Kim So Eun talks about adulthood

Kim So-eun (born 6 Sept, 1989) who has enjoyed great success after appearing on the hit drama Boys Before Flowers turns 20 this year! In an article in sidusHQ's Magazine [ i(ai) ], Kim talks about her transition from teenager to adulthood. A Bar Mitzvah of sorts if you will.

Clutching 20 roses - to represent a year for each rose, Kim says "I really do not know if I become an adult this year. My parents are afraid to take a back seat (when it comes to making decisions) but I pray it will be thrilling. I feel liberated."

When asked what she wants as a gift, Kim replied "I want to receive a camera. I like photography very much."

Kim also expressed that she would like to travel to Greece. She would also like to go to Egypt and is interested in ancient civilizations. "I've only seen pyramids in photo books. I would like to see pyramids for real and touch them."

Drug scandal gets Joo Ji-hoon banned from KBS

After actor Joo Ji-hoon (Antique, Goong) was named in the recent drug scandal for recreational drug use of ecstasy and ketamine (which got the main supplier, actress Yoon Seol-hee, tossed into jail along with her financial enabler Yeh Hak-young), Joo was the center of the ensuing media frenzy. He was dropped from his latest drama and had his birthday fanmeeting in Japan canceled.

Now Joo, who may face trial for his drug use, has been banned indefinitely from appearing on broadcast station KBS “until his [legal] punishment is decided.” Naturally, this also applies to Yoon Seol-hee and Yeh Hak-young, but I think they have bigger things to worry about, such as going away to prison for many, many years for drug trafficking.

This is not the first time an entertainer has been banned because of a drug scandal; for instance, singer Jeon In-kwon and actress Go Ho-kyung received similar punishments for marijuana use last year and in 2006.

Furthermore, KBS is also banning actor Na Han-il, but his crime is a white-collar matter. Na, who was appearing on the SBS historical drama Ja Myung Go, was caught taking illegal loans of more than 10 billion won and was also suspected of bribery.

MBC and SBS are expected to follow suit with similar decisions.

Daniel Henney, coming off his action movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine, has a new project lined up, and it’s for a U.S. drama pilot. He’s been cast in Three Rivers, a drama in development at CBS.

Three Rivers stars Julia Ormond and takes a look at organ transplants from three perspectives: doctors, donors, recipients. Ormond plays a doctor at Three Rivers Hospital, while another doctor character will be played by Alex O’Loughlin (remember that awful, awful Angel-wannabe vampire show Moonlight? Yeah, he’s the guy from that. To be fair, the show sucked but he was the only decent thing about it).

The series comes from writer and exec producer Carol Barbee, who ran the CBS dramas Jericho and Judging Amy. Henney accepted the casting offer early last month and headed to the States to shoot the pilot. His character is apparently a kidney/liver/pancreas transplant specialist.

Before you get excited (and it’s a soft CBS non-procedural, so really, there’s no reason to get excited), this is just a pilot. Meaning, it has not yet been picked up for a series order. (CBS’s advertising upfront presentation is on May 20, which is when they’ll unveil their fall lineup.)

Chae Yeon teases you, not me

I was excited about singer Chae Yeon's comeback, but after watching her newly released music video teaser for her song "Shake," I'd have to say that I am pretty disappointed. I know her company was going straight for a "sexy" look, but this has "trashy" written all over it. Not only does the song lack luster, the music video makes her look pathetic - she's 30 years old and she's partying like a hoe. And that unnecessary shower scene just made the teaser look like some sort of a homemade Girls Gone Wild video. The opening scenes of tugging on her short ass skirt is the only appropriate thing going on in the video. Oh, also Solbi called, she wants her Do It Do It dance moves back. Definitely not one of her best works, but still hoping for better in the future. Here's the 30 second teaser of Chae Yeon's "Shake" music video.

But for those of you who did enjoy the teaser, mark your calendars, or your phones (who really uses calendars these days?), and stay tuned for May 12th, when Chae Yeon will be having her first comeback stage on SBS Inkigayo.

Lee Joon-ki will drop in as the next guest after Son Dam-bi in ‘SBS-Family Outing’. The 27 year old actor recently had a successful episode on ‘MBC-Knee Cap Guru’ and it looks like that wasn’t enough air time for him. A ‘Family Outing’ staff member stated, “Lee Jun-ki got along really well with all the cast members.

If you tune in, you will be able to see Lee Joon-ki get down and dirty to catch fish and play naughty (?) games on a small island near ‘Sa-chun’. Lee Joon-ki’s episode of ‘Family Outing’ is scheduled to air this coming May 17th and 24th.

Seo In Young’s Weight Gain is a Problem

Singer Seo In Young embarrassingly said that "Because of my recent weight gain, it's a bit hard to find the right pose."

Seo In Young appeared on Mnet's reality show Emperor's Children where she said, "Recently, while I was on vacation and taking a break from work, I ate really well and rested up but ended up gaining weight. Girls feel weight on the body; not so much on the scale." While shooting the pictorial, she inspected the pictures personally and was heard saying to herself, "You pig! Where are we going to use these?! I don't know how I should pose."

Singer Lee Hyori said on "Off the Record": "I don't want to diet even at 50 years old. At that age, I just want to live normally."

In the meantime, she's working on making a comeback with Jewelry sometime in the summer.
