Children’s Generation does “Gee”

Children’s Generation or 아이시대 (Ah I Shi Dae) recently released their second album of “Bizarre Pop Parodies” and the title song is none other than their beloved unnies’ 09 hit “Gee”. Affectionately naming themselves the kids version of Girls’ Generation hasn’t really brought them any fame but this might make a difference.

Although I still can’t quite wrap my head around how marketing 5 children as a K-pop group is bringing in the moolah - this group has churned out at least 5 discs since debuting - all I can say is these kids probably show a lot of professionalism but the song sure doesn’t. It sounded to me as if Children’s Generation rented a recording studio for a day and played around with “Gee” like they were in a noraebang. And the fact that it’s actually on a CD, shouldn’t they be calling this a cover?

Super Junior’s 3rd album comeback ‘Sorry Sorry’ released on the 13th is #1 on online sales sites.

From the release until the 16th, the album has sold over 40,000 copies online. Super Junior is said to be living up the the title of ’super idol’.

Meanwhile, Super Junior had their comeback stage and also released their MV on 13th March.

Oh wow, i can't believe my luck by stumbling upon this interview with Boys Before Flowers star Lee Min-ho on ISplus. In my opinion, some of the questions are really personal and you wouldn't get questions like these in a Hollywood interview -- about girlfriends and first kisses etc.

However, Lee Min-ho answers them all in stride. I am trying to be as accurate as possible, and do justice to Lee Min-ho, but all I have to work with are two translation tools (and one pretty much sucks) and my limited Korean.

I'm amused how they used shadows and sun glasses to conceal the fugliness (see pic below). Also, I really cannot imagine the fabulous Jo Kwon as either sexy or manly, let alone both. So I was listening to BoA's leaked new album and when I got to track 3, "Did Ya," my ears perked up.

The music itself, not the lyrics, are from the song "Buddha's Delight" out of the movie Music and Lyrics with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. The song was performed by Haley Bennet and was basically a spoof of American pop artists.

HONOLULU - SOUTH Korean pop star Rain has arrived at federal court in Honolulu to testify in a civil lawsuit filed against him over cancellation of his 2007 Hawaii concert.

Before entering the courthouse on Monday, Rain, said 'Aloha', flashed a 'shaka' sign to a handful of fans and was served with papers on cancelled concerts in other states, including one in Los Angeles. He let the documents fall to the ground.

Honolulu-based Click Entertainment is suing Rain and his former agency for breach of contract and fraud for canceling the concert at Aloha Stadium without explanation.

Plaintiffs say Rain kept a US$500,000 (S$770,980) appearance fee.

The Korean star was scheduled to testify on Monday afternoon.

Conspiracy Deepens On Late Jang Ja Yun’s Suicide

Following the exposure of Jang Ja Yun’s suicide document which unveiled the deep dark secrets of the entertainment industry whereby she and many other artistes were abused, beaten and forced to have sex with prominent figures spanning various industries, the South Korea Police Department held a press conference today (16th) morning to give an update on the investigation progress. Meanwhile, the conspiracy theory also deepens as netizens discovered a shocking detail that actresses who had committed suicide (Jung Da Bin and Choi Jin Shil) were once an artiste of Kim, also the representative of Jang Ja Yun’s management agency.



According to the announcement from the police spokesperson, the police have submitted a request to the high court to seek investigation permission on Jang Ja Yun’s phone logs and emails. The suicide document received has also been sent to the forensic department for verification.

In regards to the 10 over prominent figures mentioned in the suicide note, the spokesperson expressed that the investigations on them will only begin after verifying the details documented in the notes. The spokesperson also revealed that the investigation against the representative of Jang Ja Yun’s management agency (the Contents Entertainment), Kim Sung Hoon, couldn’t begin as Kim is currently still in Japan but remain uncontactable (cellphone off).

In addition, a discovery made by netizens also revealed that late Jung Da Bin and Choi Jin Shil were once the artiste of Kim and their suicides were coincidentally labeled as “depression” (as with Jang Ja Yun before this suicide document was revealed). Furthermore, actress Kim Nam Joo and Go So Young who were in the past involved in sex bribery case were ex-artistes of Kim. Hence, netizens established the case that Kim might be the culprit behind all these.

Korean Teaser Trailer for Park Chan-wook's 'Thirst'

When a priest is accidentally turned into a blood-sucking vampire, he is forced to fight for his own humanity as seen in the brand new Korean teaser trailer of "Thirst". Opened with a shot of a man wandering around what seems to be a monastery, the video footage, which is lacking English subtitle, presents the background story of how Sang-hyun becomes a vampire.

Coming from the director of "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK", "Thirst" tells the story about a priest named Sang-hyun who participates in a medical experiment to find a cure for a deadly disease with traumatic repercussions. But, when the experiment goes askew, he becomes a vampire. Tortured and depraved, he falls into an affair with a wife of his childhood friend. As things turn for worse, he struggles to maintain what's left of his humanity.

Starring Song Kang-ho as Sang-hyun, it is supported by Shin Ha-kyun, Kim Ok-bin and Eriq Ebouaney. Directed and produced by Park Chan-wook, the horror thriller was also written by Chan-wook along with Seo-Gyeong Jeong. It will be opened in South Korea in April, while Focus Features will handle the U.S. distribution sometime later this year.

SS501 ‘Because I am Stupid’ Clinched “Song of the Month” award in Digital Music Award

The 32nd Cyworld Digital Music Awards will be held on 28-Mar (Sat) at Seoul Fashion Art Hall with about 1,000 fans.

‘Digital Music Awards’ is the first digital music award ceremony held in Korea, giving awards to singers whose songs are most purchased and used as cyworld minihompy’s background music within a month and also prominent new singers are given awards too.

SS501’s ‘Because I am Stupid’ (Boys over Flowers OST) has been chosen as the ‘Song of the Month’ for the 32nd Digital Music Awards.

‘Because I am Stupid’ has sold about 110,000 in the BGM for the month of February despite the album being already released for a month (January), entitling its win for 'Song of the Month’.

SS501 members Kim KyuJong, Heo YoungSaeng, Kim HyungJoon, besides specially making their special album, these 3 members have also participated in ‘Boys Over Flowers’ OST, showing their excellent activities for both. Not only for this song, their recently released follow-up song ‘Making a Lover’ is currently positioned high on the BGM chart, demonstrating their high popularity.

Correct me if I’m wrong but last Saturday’s “Champagne” would be about the third program on which Girls’ Generation danced to Britney Spears‘ “Circus”. Well of course there’s nothing wrong with that but with BoA and Britney’s collaboration in “Look Who’s Talking” only placed in the spotlight a few days prior to this article, it feels as if SM and Jive/Zomba Records might have a secret pact to cross-promote - although I think it would just be Britney lowering herself because she far from needs this after a powerful comeback. But I do have to put in a word for the collab: It’s looking like a neat piece of work and sounds very Britney.

Anyway, speculations aside, check out Hyo Yeon grabbing all the attention in ‘Circus” and BoA’s “Look Who’s Talking”.

Sunye passes out in NYC

Sunye, leader of popular girl group, Wonder Girls, passed out last week Wednesday, March 11th in New York City during the JYP tour. She’s been sick since the tour hit Thailand with JYP, Wonder Girls and 2pm but she stuck it out and performed with her group. Unfortunately, all the strenuous activity, rehearsals and traveling took it’s toll and she passed out. A fan took a photograph and put it up in an album on Facebook. According to her, pictured above is Sunye being carried by a member of the staff hopefully to a hospital, or at least to rest.

Wonder Girls’ Sunye, this pic was taken in hotel when she was [being carried] by her staff [at] around midnight on the 11th [of March], she’s pale and seems to be unconscious….poor girl, get wll soon :(

Lee Jae Jin is AWOL

Old School KPOP Sechkies member Lee Jae Jin is currently serving his military duty. However, he's not there right now.

He was allowed to take a short sickness leave and was supposed to return on March 6th, but the military has stated that he has not reported back. The army has looked into this situation and so far there hasn't been any clear leads. His friends and family state that they don't know where he is.

His sister, YG Entertainment artist, Lee Eun Joo, is in shock over her missing brother.

In 2006, he requested to be placed in a game development company as a specialized engineer in the army (to serve his military duty in a cushy position) but he was rejected. He even went to court to appeal this decision and lost. As a result, he entered the regular military last year on August 25. While serving in the military, Lee Jae Jin was treated for psychiatric issues. Sounds like he's having a hard time adjusting to his new military life. His father passed away in 2006 and his mother passed away last May, Poor Guy. Hopefully he's found soon.
