Kim SoEun has been selected to be the model for Clean & Clear along with Yoona of SNSD.

Kim SoEun’s company revealed on the 11th that, “Kim SoEun has recently set up a contract with ‘Clean & Clear’ that will last 1 year and 6 months.

Kim SoEun was recently brought into the spotlight by starring in KBS2 ‘Boys Over Flower‘ and now she is on the same level as the previous ‘Clean & Clear’ models such as Park Boyoung, Yoo Inyoung and Ko Eunah.

Kim SoEun has already completed a photoshoot with Yoona in February with the concept of ‘Clean and white skin’. During the photoshoot, Kim SoEun shined with her perfect, clean skin and bright smile.

‘Clean & Clear’ announced that “Kim SoEun is a model fitted with cuteness, sophistication and womanlikeness” and also stated that, “She was successful in her completing her photoshoot that was aimed at the younger generation of women with her concept of ‘Clean, Clear and Confident’”.

The advertisement where Kim SoEun and Yoona prepared of ‘Clean & Clear’ by the company ‘Johnson & Johnson’ will be airing around mid March.

On the other hand, Kim SoEun has been acting in ‘Boys Over Flower‘ as a mysterious couple with So Ejung (Kim Bum) and has been loved by the viewers.

Baek Ji Young has overcome

Singer Baek Ji Young appeared on MBC 2's 'Golden Fishery' and revealed some pre-debut confessions.

As a young girl in junior high and elementary school, she was introverted and did not study to the point she ranked last in her class. Growing up, Baek Ji Young also learned the clarinet. She was really good and was even accepted into university for it but did not attend at the time. She quit the clarinet because she didn't want to burden her parents with the expensive lesson fees.

While studying music in college, she decided to be a singer from the encouragement of her boyfriend. After being introduced to a composer, she passed an audition and began her solo activities. At the time, she was also in a little known group called Trout Boys but only participated for two to three months.

When asked about her husband type, she answered: Shinhwa's Shin Hye Sung, H.O.T's Kang Ta, and ballad singer Sung Shi Kyung.

She also broke out in tears when she talked about the pain she suffered after her sex video scandal, but she was able to overcome all that backlash with the support from her family. Many people who tuned in to see this revelation saw her in a new light. Hopefully, those embarrassing days will be able to be forgotten.

Known for her stumps, Song Hye-kyo digitally stretches out again for the new 2009 Spring ads for Levi’s Lady Style. If the legs are that important to Levis, then why not get a real model that already has them? It would save the extra photoshopping costs.

The new Levis Lady Style ads featuring Song Hye-kyo will be out in mid March.

Star of hot drama, “Boys over flowers,” Lee Min-jung has been plucked as the new face for Sony Ericsson’s Xperia TM mobile phone. A press conference was held on March 10th to show off the new phone and to demonstrate selca-ing skills (see above). With the handset market opening up in April (finally!) in Korea, Sony is already trying to get a head start with promotions

It was revealed on China portal site sina.com the uniforms that the main characters to China’s version of ‘Boys Over Flowers‘ and it has received various kinds of response from the Korean netizens.

There has been great interests in comparing the Japanese, Taiwanese and the Korean version of ‘Boys Over Flowers‘ so far. The comparisons were in terms of the appearance of the main characters, their acting and fashion.

As can be seen, it is the checkered style for the uniform fashion of the China’s version. And they also uses red colour for their ties.

The responses from netizens were mixed, “It absolutely cannot be compared to that of the Korean version”, “This looks like Korea in the 1970-80s” and “But still the female uniform looks nice on the female lead”.

The main cast to the China’s version of ‘Boys Over Flowers‘ were Jang Han (Goo Joon Pyo, Jang Han), Hwi Hao Ming (Yoon Ji Hoo, Yoo Ho Myung), Joo Tze Sao (So Yi Jung, Joo Jae Ho) and Wei Yi Cheon (Sung Woo Bin, Hwi Shin).

Seo Taiji is back!

The k-rock icon released the first part of his 8th “Atomos” album last year (”Part Moai”), and now he’s released the second (”Part Secret”), which went on sale this week. And to kick off the round of promo work for this disc, he’s holding a White Day concert — two, actually, on the 14th and 15th at Seoul’s Olympic Garden.

White Day falls on March 14, a month after Valentine’s Day — while girls give chocolate on Valentine’s, White Day is the guys’ turn to reciprocate. But don’t worry, if you’ve got no cause to celebrate either day, you can always wait another month for April 14’s Black Day, when singles gorge on jajangmyun (black bean sauce noodles). Unless you take the anti-consumerist approach and eschew fake holidays altogether.

Anyway. Seo Taiji’s March 14 concert bears the rather unwieldy title “2009 Seo Taiji Single 2 Release Celebration Concert Wormhole.”

It will also be his first performance of the album’s single, “Juliet,” for which a music video teaser will be released on the 16th.

Korean movie star Kwon Sang-woo is no stranger to self-generated scandals. But this time round he seems to have set a new record in creating cyberspace disputes.

In a recent interview with local movie magazine Premiere, Kwon offered his opinion on a wide range of topics including his recent marriage, his newborn son, former movie projects and his dreams for the future.

At the center of the dispute are Kwon's controversial remarks about his commitment to Korea, local fans and his directors. According to the full text of the interview, Kwon said he had hated living Korea since his early childhood and planned to move abroad in 10 years. Currently, he is setting up a new business to realize his "out-of-Korea" dream.

Kwon also expressed his displeasure toward director Yoo Ha, who recruited Kwon on a previous film project. But after Yoo picked another actor for his next project, Kwon said he became "displeased" and wished that Yoo's latest film, "Ssanghwajeom," would tank at the box office.

Kwon also revealed that he intentionally skipped the sound recording session for one of his film projects largely because he did not like what was going on at the production set - a highly unprofessional decision that irked many online observers.

As for "Love, So Divine," a 2004 film directed by Hur In-moo, Kwon said he felt "embarrassed" when he watched the completed film. "Frankly, our director seemed inexperienced," Kwon said.

Kwon said he would not reveal the photos of his infant son unless he got paid money comparable to the amount Brad Pitt and Angelia Jolie received. The comment sparked an uproar in internet communities for his seemingly money-oriented attitude to the privacy of his own family.

JYP takes actions towards Khmer “Nobody”

It was announced today that JYP is finally taking action on copycats of 08’s hit “Nobody”. He had been closing an eye to “parodies” around Asia but with an official recording of the song in Khmer girl group RHM’s “Vol. 376″ - topped off with MV incorporating both “Tell Me” and “Nobody” choreography no less. JYP had created a protest against the band.

Representatives of the Wonder Girls outside of South Korea, Sony BMG, will be in charge of investigations and court case procedures if there’s the need for them. JYP reiterated his decision on March 12th, of putting his foot down due to the Wonder Girls’ recent expansion overseas and the fear that copycats will affect future activities in Asia

Kang Ho Dong Becomes a Father


Comedian (and MC) Kang Ho Dong and wife Lee Hyo Jin are now parents to a healthy baby boy.

On the afternoon of March 13, Lee gave birth naturally at a hospital in Gangnam, Seoul to a son weighing 3.3 kilograms. Both mother and son are in healthy condition.

Kang Ho Dong was not present for the birth. He was in Jeolla-do, filming with the cast and crew of 1 Night 2 Days (1N2D / 1박2일). He was overjoyed to hear the news, as he had greatly anticipated a son.

The couple has been married since November 2006. Preceding the birth, they had been calling the baby Baekdoosan (Mount Baekdoo) because the baby was conceived following 1N2D’s trip to the mountain. (omona!)

It looks like Kim Hyun-joong decides to go to Lotte World/Magic Land for his "Guerilla Date" segment on Entertainment Relay. In the entertainment program, celebrities are taken for a walk along the streets or in a public place and is interviewed by one of the hosts on the show.

Kim Hyun-joong (23) took a break from filming KBS2 drama Boys Before Flowers for his interview. Fondly known as Ji-hoo sunbae (지후선배) in the drama, the 23 year-old singer/actor looked just as charming and romantic as his character. Although he was rather playful in this interview session. He challenged the reporter to taking the Gyro Drop -- a heart stopping exhilarating ride in the amusement park.

Hyun-joong's "Guerilla Date" will be broadcast on White Day (March 14) on KBS2, 9:50pm.

Kim KyuJong said “I tried acting while filming for 2shai’s music video last time, so I know it isn’t an easy task and didn’t dream of doing any further in acting. Recently while watching HyunJoong hyung, my desire for acting always comes upon me. If I receive a proposal (to act), I would definitely do it.”

Kim KyuJong added “In the scripts said by HyunJoong hyung, I remember most is ‘A kid like you is such a cute chap’. I tried to say that and it was interesting. I also thought to myself that how I would deliver these lines if it’s me.”

Kim KyuJong also generously gives sharp advices to Kim HyunJoong whom he had been living with for 6 years. Kim KyuJong watches every episode of the drama and to the extent that he would pay attention to even small insignificant details. Kim KyuJong said “Actually, hyung’s character is totally different from that of Yoon JiHoo in the drama. Therefore there is some awkwardness. If it was me, I would pull back my strength to act.”

Kim KyuJong has supported Kim HyunJoong’s activities as an actor by singing the ending song ‘Because I am Stupid’ for ‘Boys Over Flowers’.

Bitches got moved away from messing up with G-dragon's solo album debut

‘Female Big Bang‘ to debut in May and be active all the way till year-end
‘Female Big Bang‘ will debut and make their scene in the Kpop zone in May.

With their name not officially known to have decided, the group was called the ‘female Big Bang‘ by netizens.

YG Entertainment said,”We had plans for YG’s new female group to debut in April. Much effort has been put into the selection of songs etc hence the earliest that fans can meet with this group will be in May.”

“Right now, they have completed about 10 songs. We have also in mind what the title song will be out of the 10 songs. But until their debut in May, we will collect more songs for the album.”

The YG representative also added, “They will release singles and minialbums and will continue to be active all the way to year-end. There is a possibility they will release a digital single every month.”

Honestly, I doubt it's the long time taking song selection that got their debut moved away from April, but more likely YG doesn't want to mess up with G-Dragon's solo album activities. Just watch out for their debut being moved even further away if GD's album is still at the top of the charts in the beginning of May.

Se7en’s 1st American single ‘Girls’ gets 5 stars on iTunes

Se7en released his debut American single ‘Girls’ on iTunes on 11th March and the single had received a 5 stars out of 5, as voted by the iTunes customers.

The response to Se7en’s single was good - it was #2 on the MySpace video chart and #1 on the music chart on 12th March. And it is also in the top 100 positions in just one day release on iTunes. It was #1 on Japan R&B chart on 11th March and then #10 on overall pop chart on 12th March. As for Korea, it was #1 on Melon pop chart.

This single is the single 2 years in the making for Se7en, and features artists like Lil Kim.

Rain appears in court personally to clear his name

The sudden cancelation of a concert landed a Korean superstar in a fraud case. The concert organizer demanded through court for a compensation of US$40 million from the singer and his previous managing company.

The hearing was held in Hawaii on Wednesday and Rain appeared in court to give his statement.

Few days before his Hawaii concert on Jun 15, 2007, Rain suddenly announced that his concert will be canceled. The reason given then was that the stage design done by the organizer was not up to his expectations. The organizer, however, believed that the reason the concert was canceled was because Rain had terminated his contract with his then artiste management company JYP; they felt that finding an excuse to cancel the concert is an act of fraud.

Though the case was previously trialed in Korea and Rain was found not guilty, the organizer felt that they had been interfered by Rain's representing lawyer at that time and thus requested for him to be in court personally for the trial in Hawaii. The court hearing is currently ongoing till Mar 18. According to reports, Rain has also freed up early March to attend court personally, hopefully the court will clear his name and end the two-year case.

MC Mong met with an accident on the highway of DaeGooShi DongGoo on 11th March at 11pm. The van MC Mong was travelling had collided the vehicle of that of a traffic police.

The accident had left a police officer with injured ribcage. MC Mong was actually on his way to another schedule from WoolSan. The injured police officer was discharged from the hospital after receiving some treatment.

Meanwhile, MC Mong has also revealed his secret girlfriend on 12th March, which sparked much interests amongst fans. His girlfriend is a newcomer actress who debuted as a model, and is known by Joo Ah Min.
