Super Junior's Third album sold 30, 000 copies in one day, beating Seo Taeji

As soon as it was released, Super Junior's third album has raised album sales and has ground down Seo Taeji's record

Following online album sales site Hanteo Chart, Super Junior's This album Sorry Sorry released on the 12th has sold an amount close to 30 000; 29 000 copies in one day. This record has beaten Seo Taeji's 8th album 2nd single's record of 25 000 a day.

Super Junior had their first performance on the 13th through KBS 2TV 'Music Bank' Seo Taeji is planning to hold his comeback performance on the 14th in the Olympic Hall inside the Olympic Park and will perform the title song 'Juliet'

These two singers who are holding their comeback performances a day apart from each other have sales that cannot be compared with any of the other recent albums and have a great start with the sales. It is believed that this fierce battle of album sales will continue and grab attention of others.

Seo Taiji Company believes that the second single will easily pass 100 000 sales. They have also revealed that they are producing 50 000 more copies to add. On the 10th, when Seo Taiji's album was released, a large CD store in Seoul had fans lining up since the day before to buy the album. Super Junior's album had 150 000 pre-orders and showed signs of success.

Ock Joo-hyun Inspired to Instruct Students in Stage

Singer Ock Joo-hyun will teach courses in singing and musicals at Dong Seoul College. Ock, who debuted in 1998 as the member of famous group Finkl, went solo in 2003 and has since released three albums under her own name. She began her musical career in 2005, including starring roles in “Aida,” “Chicago” and “Cats.”

“I will try my best to transfer the hands-on experience and knowledge accumulated from my 11-year career to my students,” said Ock. “I became a member of Finkl that everyone in this country knows, and worked harder and harder until I hardly had time to realize my fame. There are things that went the way I had wished and things that didn’t throughout my career, but I feel especially attached to being a radio DJ and musical actress, because these are the areas that I poured out my energy the most and received the greatest sense of fulfillment.”

In January, comedian Park Kyung-rim gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. She and her husband Park Jung-hoon named their son Park Min-joon.

So Ji-Sub in Japan - Remains Sexy While Doing So

Hot Stuff So Ji-Sub will visit Japan as part of a promotional tour for his recent hit film, "Rough Cut aka A Movie is a Movie". The actor received rave reviews for his performance despite of the low budget. In the past year, he earned his first Best New Actor nomination and went on to win the 2008 Chung-young Movie Award and the Baek-sang Award. Busy filming Cain and Abel, the actor won’t be able to afford a long stay, unfortunately.

During his visit, the actor will appear at a press conference, photo shoots, and interviews with influential movie critics. The movie already has a large fan base from the monster opening night on Feb. 26.

This film has an interesting setup: a movie within a movie. The exploration of the movie making process from two men. One man is an actor named Jang Soo Ta (Kwang Ji-Hwan), a real street fighter with an anger problem. The other is Lee Kang Pae (So Ji-Sub) who thinks acting is just faking things but agrees to shoot a movie under one condition: they fight like real men for the action scenes. There's the usual subplots of gangsters, girlfriends, etc., but I won't go into much detail. So if you watch it, be prepared to spend some time getting into this film and finding out who's going to be the winner of this bloody battle of no lame stunts or graphics.

The co-star, Kang Ji-Hwan already did his promotional tour prior to So Ji-sub. You can view some move still-cuts of So Ji-Sub and Kang Ji-Hwan below.

Nicole's Sudden Kiss was a "Silly Surprise"

Popular group Kara's Nicole got a sudden kiss from a male student at Sejong University.

It happened after Sejong University's "gag gang" students did a performance of "soccer king shoot-dori." After the students showed their talent, they had a plea for Kara's Nicole.

Since it was directed to just Nicole, she was surprised, so after a pause the male student just went and gave a sudden kiss to Nicole. Nicole was so shocked that she jumped around the stage, and could not hide her surprise.

Not just Nicole, but no one could have predicted this would happen, all the audience at Sejong University were shocked, too. The other Kara members had to console her.

Nicole said on Star Golden Bell "that she never had a boyfriend before." With this surprise kiss, we could see Nicole's cute surprised expression.

Nicole's shocking kiss incident can be seen on KBS's Road Show Quiz Expedition - Sejong University at 10:45am on the 15th. The male student who kissed Nicole was the 2nd round winner of 60 second showdown.

Prince Song (aka Kim Jun) To Release Digital Single

Looks like Lee Min Ho isn't the only Boys Over Flower actor recording a digital single. Fellow F4 member, Kim Jun, has plans to release a digital single in both Korea & Japan this coming June. However, it seems he's leaving his fellow T-Max members behind for this single. Although plans are tentative, the single is expected to be released first in Korea then in Japan. Talks with Japanese management are currently in progress as they plan for his Japanese activities & schedule. They're planning for about 4 tracks in total which are being composed right now and anticipate that this single will be able to portray Kim Jun's charisma. I wonder if they forgot he was a rapper? At this rate, they should have just gotten Hyun Joong and Kim Bum to record and we could have BOF OST 3.

Kim Hyun-joong was caught on camera buying a mobile phone.
So what’s the big deal? Nothing except that if you are endorsing a phone, you would think that a free phone would be provided for promotional purposes. However, the “Boys over Flowers” star had to pay up from his own pocket for a new Samsung “Haptic Pop.” What’s up with that?

Maybe Samsung found out that he is already pulling lots of cash.

Jang Ja Yeon was beaten and raped

The general consensus was that the late actress, Jang Ja Yeon took her life because of stress, netizen pressure or on-going depression from her parents’ death… but no. Evidence has emerged saying she was physically and sexually abused by the big wigs in the Korean entertainment industry.

Jang Ja Yeon’s former manager is being questioned by police while he is in hospital. Three plain-clothed policemen entered Mr Yoo’s ward at 4:30pm on the 14th, where they apparently told him “if you have something to say, then say it now”. The police are reported to have questioned him in relation to the now infamous documents.

BUT KBS ‘News at 9′ have apparently managed to get hold of certain leaked papers, and according to them, there was something terrible, something horrific going on. These are some of the extracts that were revealed:

Sexual harassment by a producer (PD) “… demanded I join him for golf and drinks. I had to drink with him in a room-saloon [Korean place for drinking and 'other things' that is a cross between a motel-room and a bar] and I was forced to sleep with him.”

When she went to her company to complain “I was locked in a room and beaten endlessly with fists and PET bottles… I was sent abusive text messages”

Big Bang was recently announced as the new spokespeople for HITE beer. Following BoA and Lee Hyori, it seems that HITE has maybe gained some “cool” but sacrificed the “hot”.

There are two very huge reasons as to why the “Hot” was lost. One is G-Dragon’s hair. Even if he was standing next to Will Smith and James Franco his disastrous do would suck the hot out of everything in a 5-mile radius. There is also the sorry state of Big Bang’s attire. Blue “firemen” suits. Sorry but, as hot as I find TOP and Taeyang, the members of Big Bang are the last people I’d want to see in what might as well be tacky aqua spacesuits. But the Big Bang boys were high energy as usual and a barrel of laughs.

SS501 member Heo Yeong Saeng said during KBS 2TV Star Golden Bell aired on 14th March, “When Kim Hyun Joong was receiving over the popularity award during Baek Sang Arts Festival, it was such a shame that SS501 was not referred in his thank you speech.”

SS501 Heo Yeong Saeng and Kim Hyung Joon was on this episode of Star Golden Bell. Kim Hyung Joon said, “When Kim Hyun Joong received the popularity award on Baek Sang Arts Awards, he received flower bouquets from the F4 first before from us. Even though those are people he had acted together before, it is still quite a shame for that.”


The MC then said, “Yes it is really quite a shame. But because the F4 members were closer. Because of that, I think he had no choice.”

Heo Yeong Saeng then continued, “When SS501 was 3 members and we got #1, we thanked Kim Hyun Joong in our thank-you speech. But during his thank-you speech during Baek Sang Arts Awards, he gave a good speech for his acting colleages, and we thought we were going to get mentioned at the end of the speech but he said instead ‘This award is to be shared with everyone!’.”

Good friends Daniel Henney (30) and Jung Ryu-won (27) spent White Day together plugging Biotherm.

The pair has been selected to represent the skincare brand and was at the Biotherm White Day Event held at the Lotte Department Store on March 14.

The duo has been friends since appearing in the 2005 hit drama series My Lovely Sam-soon.

As everyone and their dog know, Daniel Henney will be playing David North/ Agent Zero in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which will be released on April 30 in Malaysia and May 1 Stateside.

Meanwhile, Jung Ryu-won is currently in the SBS drama Princess Jang Myung Go. She will also be appearing alongside Jung Jae-young in the movie Wandering Mr. Kim (김씨 표류기), which is scheduled for an April 2009 release.

I guess work won't feel like labour when you have a good friend as a colleague. From the pictures above, Henney and Jung seem to be enjoying themselves thoroughly.
