Thank you!!!!

Mostly, I'm just relieved this isn't awful (looking at you, Bride of the Water God). I will reserve judgment for whether it's good or not, but it is definitely watchable and that is something. I'm so happy to see Siwan again. I decided I didn't like his hair when I saw the promos but 30 seconds into this show, I realized he is so pretty I don't care. Won is mostly hitting the typical twatty kdrama lead male thing but every time he goes to a vulnerable spot, I get emotional. Siwan does hurt really well and I know I'm gonna cry my eyes out for him at some point. The face he made after the king told him if he were only a little less smart, he'd be dead today had my heartstrings pulling. Also, I fucking hate the king already, can we murder him yesterday?

I truly hope they ease up with the cliche love triangle nonsense and hit more with the dark stuff the book summaries promised. It seems they've been mostly promoting the romance angle but viki keeps publishing articles referring to Won as an antihero so I hope that comes to pass. Of course the promos for Misaeng made it look like an office comedy so who knows.

The flashback cast is surprisingly good, especially the girl. She had me teary in the first ep. I hope she does great things when she gets older.

My girl, wfkbj Coach Choi, looks amazing as Queen Jangmok. Makeup, hair, clothes, sword: 10/10. I hope she kills everyone.

I will end this post with a very cute Siwan because look at his widdle face:

she also played park bo young's mom in a werewolf boy. that one really threw me for a loop.

Romance is a bit typical so far but the politics and more dramatic~ side of things has me interested.

There were also a few moments where I was like "Is the wig supposed to look like that?" lol

This drama is so nice to look at; everyone looks pretty (even the bodyguards) and wears pretty clothes. This reminds me a lot of moonlight drawn by clouds, but i hope this won't go down the unnecessary angsty separation road towards the end like mdbc.
Also interesting is the bit when the prince gave san the permission to kill him in the future.
