MC Kim Gura suggests that Big Bang's Seungri should join WINNER

In the recent episode of Radio Star with Big Bang as a guest, the cast talk about what Seungri will do while the older members do their military service for two years.
When Seungri mentions that they're preparing as to make the hiatus as short as possible, Kim Gura cuts him off by suggesting that he join WINNER in their absence. Kyuhyun tries to cover for him by suggesting that Seungri join Blackpink instead, with Seungri honestly answering that it probably wouldn't be a good idea.
MC Gura backtracks and mentions that he's only joking, but makes the same joke only minutes later which makes Seungri look rather irritated.

As if it that wasn't enough, Kim Gura comments about it again when Seungri talks about his new business. This time Kyuhyun mentions that Seungri's name means "victory" and that it therefore might be a good idea. Seungri answers that WINNER is missing a member, maybe as a way to stop the joke, but then the Big Bang members also suggest that Seungri leave them for WINNER so he can become their leader. Seungri then says he's staying in BB, with the other members laughing.

Kim Gura has also been facing critisism for asking f(x)'s Amber about her gender, and mentioning BTOB Peniel's hair loss as a joke.

What makes Kim Gura so popular that he still has a job after all the things he has said? And why was this joke necessary three times?
Seungri seemed to be the only one bothered by the joke though. Is it only OP that thinks this was inappropriate?

After watching the show, I actually thought the first time that it wasn't that bad cause it was played off with the suggestion of even joining Black Pink.
The second time is when I actually got mad cause he had to hit a sore spot and talk about how someone left - it wasn't funny the first time but it was passable so the second time it was only to be intentionally cruel.

WINNER is finally having activities again after losing a member, and I'm pretty sure Seungri is tired of hearing that he should join other groups instead.

i think its bc often enough a lot of bigbang fans have been saying that seungri shouldn't be a part of bigbang since he's not talented enough or w/e (because he was not in the """original""" line up that was selected during bb documentary, only after when both hyunseung and seungri were given another chance, seungri made it in) so it's a touchy issue

I'm not defending this piece of shit, but I just got through watching it not too long ago. Just like it's mentioned, they were talking about how there's gonna be a 2 year gap since the others are going to the army and Seungri said they were working out ways to shorten the hiatus, and if I'm not mistaken, that's when KGR said this. The hosts also suggested he join IKON and BlackPink.

And to clear up the rest of BB's response, Seungri mentioned how a member had just left, and it seemed like he was actually considering joining Winner. The rest of BB got in their feelings about that short hesitation.

KGR is trash and joke was out of pocket, but he's said and done much worse. I think it's something you have to watch to decide how you want to perceive it. I had no idea he even said that about Peniel.

He talked about peniel during the sechskies episode, i didnt find it rude or maybe i was wrong idk. He was talking on how the members dyeing their hair bla bla kang sunghoon had pink, jaejin had blue hair.

He was curious about them dyeing and bleaching at old age, most of the member are in their late 30s. Dont they have hair issue hence why peniel was brought up in the topic.

mte. not here to defend his shit, but this comment was just to make fun of seungri like they were doing during the whole episode. for me, his "suggestion" isn't because winner lost a member but just because they're one of bigbang junior groups in yg. maybe he doesn't even know the group lost a member recently. like you said, seungri is the one bringing this up and then yoon jongshin mentions taehyun.

for me, this was all a really unfunny joke (seungri joining a junior group while his members are gone).

and the intention of the (not funny) joke was to make fun of seungri joining a junior group. and making fun of seungri was the entire episode goal (which is also a not funny thing, but that's my personal opinion ofc lol). I wouldn't be surprised if kim gura doesn't even know winner has actually lost a member before this. he was probably just namind yg boy groups to make his joke.

I don't think this is that bad, I think Seungri/Winner fans are just in their feelings. Seungri will always and forever be the butt of jokes, because Seungri is really good at taking jokes, is really REALLY good at making fun of his own members, and more over has proven he can stand on his own and provides something of worth to the group. The boys clearly love him, and picking on him is just what's always been done because his reactions are better than anyone else's.

I think it's much more insulting to Seungri telling him to join a Junior group for sure, but I don't think it has anything to do with Taehyun leaving beyond the fact that there is a member missing from the joke. Also if you thought Big Bang wasn't gonna poke fun at him for acting like he was considering it you're crazy. That's exactly in their boat of things they would do, it's very in their line of humor to tell someone to just "go do it already" which is basically what they did.

Mountain out of a mole hill really, slightly inappropriate joke sure, but Gura has done WAY WAY worse than this. Amber was 100 percent worse and this dude shouldn't be on TV after it.
