Thank you for these details. I had no idea about this, and I' really happy for the guys getting to branch out and network. I'm not sure if Wale's music is still relevant, since I haven't heard his name in a minute, but the fact that BTS is making these connections out of mutual interest and not just their company throwing its weight around is pretty significant.

For anyone genuinely curious, a girl who is a Rap Mon stan and a Wale stan tweeted at him about RM using a song of Wale's and doing a rap over it, etc. He listened to it and RTed it with "collab???" Then the BTS and Wale accounts followed each other on twitter, and it's been kinda rumored that a collab would be coming.

My guess is that he is going to do a feature on RM's second mixtape. But it must have been on his mind since it happened recently and he dropped the reference in this which is pretty cool.

I don't get the hate, and I think half of Omona is leaning on the negative side about Wale because the first few comments blasted him without saying why. I'm familiar with his name, but don't know which songs he put out or anything. Judging off of this song though, he has a strong flow, and he's good at what he does. His mention of BTS was a positive one, and it's weird people expected him to bring drama or drag BTS into something, like what? What has this man done for people to even feel that way?

Bangtan is actually making connections (many via Rapmon) and getting their name out there.Big Hit is very protective of BTS, so they don't need fans to overreact and "protect" them when they do collaborations. This is the second time, at least, that Rapmon has managed to garner recognition via Twitter and do a collaboration. Instead of Big Hit going around just buying artists, you got people recognizing their potential and seeking them out. This is great! It doesn't have to be about Wale trying to tap into the South Korean fandom. Can't it be a rapper interested in fellow artist on the other side of the world. Is it so far-fetched, that's he's personally interested in a Korean guy who did something interesting with his song?

I hope this interaction is one of many to come. I saw BTS put in face time with Gallant and Wiz Khalifa's DJ, so hopefully they left a strong impression. If not, I hope they got a strong impression from watching those guys perform and find inspiration from it. I love all the new interactions they get, because it decreases the chances of them getting stagnant.

Honestly, I think majority of fandom is cool with this. We already knew about a possible collab. It seems Omona's just confused/finding it random. Omona's the only place I been at that's had this reaction. It was a fan that got him to notice Rapmon/BTS in the first place. They @'ed Wale with a link to one of Namjoon's covers of one of his songs I think. Then he followed BTS twitter and BTS followed back.
