Earlier in the day, Korean media outlet X Sports News broke the news that WINNER‘s Nam Tae Hyun and actress Jung Rye Won are currently in a relationship.

Because of recent news that WINNER’s comeback had been indefinitely suspended due to Nam Tae Hyun’s health conditions, many fans were shocked to hear that he has been in fact dating while the group was forced to take a break from promoting.

According to the news article, the two have been dating for a year after meeting through a mutual friend last year. The two have allegedly enjoyed dates without trying to hide their relationship, and were reportedly seen at a cafe in Garosugil a few days ago. X Sports News added that when WINNER was busy during promotions, Jung Rye Won took care of Nam Tae Hyun by visiting his dorm.

After initial mixed reactions regarding Nam Tae Hyun allegedly dating Jung Rye Won, who is thirteen years his senior, Jung Rye Won’s agency KeyEas Entertainment has released an official response to the rumors.

In an interview with TV Report, representatives explained, “They are only friends through a mutual acquaintance and not a couple, this is honestly flustering,” effectively shutting down the rumors of the relationship between the two.

On October 18, a media outlet reported that the pair have been in a relationship for the last year. Nam Tae Hyun′s agency YG Entertainment spoke up by saying, "We have nothing to say as it is the artist′s private life. We have no comment."

On the other hand, Jung Ryeo Won′s agency Keyeast stated, "We have confirmed with Jung Ryeo Won that although they are friendly, they are not dating."

The pair is especially gaining attention as there is a 13 year age gap between Nam Tae Hyun and Jung Ryeo Won. Jung Ryeo Won was born in 1981 while Nam Tae Hyun was born in 1994.

Anyway, it might not be a popular opinion here in Omona but I think they're cute couple. Seeing their IG posts in the past, it seems that they genuinely gained each other as friend through their similar taste, especially in movies.

...yeah. What's up with YGE's statement though? That's just fanning the flames. Not to be a conspiracy theorist but something is off with the recent YG/Taehyun articles. It seems like almost unnecessarily negative coverage specifically for him each time. I'll wait it out, but I don't really trust any of these media releases anymore.

same. Am really confused and conflicted with how the company is handling this. Malicious rumors and baseless reports are of the norm and can't be controlled but it's been proven oftentimes that yge has some serious clout on media, enough to make articles disappear or perhaps delay them so you would think that after painting namtae in a negative light (not intentionally per se), they'd be more vigilant of what comes out in the media. It's all suspect. :/

YG always no comments on dating rumors and most scandals. Nothing YG has said has been negative so I don't know why people think YG has some master plan to throw the dude out. Like, no offence but Taehyun has the worst public rep. A good personal fanbase but bad within the public. YG could have thrown him directly under the bus within full view of the public and the comments probably would have been like "He was rude anyway!" "I heard he was a bad kid in highschool" "He's a horrible actor!"

It's probably most likely that with psychological issues being brought up more often in the industry, YG having announced it, and Winner having a combo of big volatile fandom+public recognition, journalists saw this as a time to max out on clicks. A month ago this story wouldn't have been as big.

YG is vilified because he doesn't let his artists promote new music enough. It's very easy to take that animosity and blow it up into YG being some absolutely evil label hell bent on ruining everything they own. They didn't handle the Minzy situation to a lot of fans liking. (though they handled it better than most labels who drop a member from a group they didn't sue Minzy or disappear her off to America but I guess that's not enough.) And people are jumping to conclusion because YG made a statement and people feel that Taehyun is going to get blamed (which that is likely) for Winner not coming back.

People forget that if YG didn't make a statement it would be just as bad if not worse for the company, or if they waited till WAY AFTER the fact and it got out that Winner's comeback was delayed for mental health reasons they would be upset for the same reasons. There's no pleasing anyone in this situation, the only way they could have gotten off is if they forced Taehyun to promote regardless of his issues much like another big label does when they deal with injuries and such so /shrug.

People are mad for no reason and it's easy to be mad at YG because he's a notorious liar but his label consistently puts out music everyone wants. You're right about Taehyun, but it's really easy for people to side with him internationally though and especially knowing he has mental problems even I feel for him and I'm glad we know he's getting help which is literally all I really picked up from YG's statement.

I most likely would not date somebody 13 years younger than me but if they like it then that's all that matters. I do worry about such age differences though with him being so young. But there may be nothing to be concerned about. It is hypocritical but with G Dragon I know if his behavior and personality more so his dating of a younger person absolutely put up some red flags for me. I dont really know too much about these two.
