Date: 2016-10-12 01:05 pm (UTC)I also don't get how Hae soo didn't put things together when the king was poison if she knows she didn't do it..it had to be a servant girl. Haesoo frustrates me so much...
Based on next week's teaser, it looks like they are going to put an implied bed scene between SoSoo. If so, I know where they sre going with this. Since they only have like 5 episodes left and they still have quite a bit of ground to cover including a few years of So's reign as King

Date: 2016-10-20 03:42 pm (UTC)I agree that they should have made this drama longer. Aren't Saeguk's typically longer, too? Even a four episode extension would have helped the story. I don't understand why they didn't make it longer...especially if a drama like "Jealousy Incarnate" can get 24 eps...that I REALLY don't understand. I thought it was just going to be a typical 16 episode drama but then saw that it was 24 and I was like WTF? I love Gong Hyojin and Jo Jung Suk but.....that drama is just...the story line doesn't deserve 24 episodes.
And I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the So/Soo relationship was poorly developed. I *think* it was kind of like that in the Chinese version, too, but I just don't feel anything for their relationship. He definitely likes her more than she likes him and we never really got to see those moments where she started wavering. Those time jumps didn't help, either.

Date: 2016-10-21 01:28 am (UTC)The type jump killed it for me...like I didn't undnerstand when her heart start wavering...it really did blindside me to see them so lovey dovey and watching haesoo wearing the hairpin.. They really should have shown when she started truly accepting his advances.

Date: 2016-10-21 02:10 am (UTC)Yeah. I'm just really not into Hae Soo/So. It's so underwhelming and her pining for him all of a sudden has me like "Girllllllll really." I admit I'm a bit biased because I like Hae Soo/Wook more, but...I'm also mad we got robbed out of a kiss between the two of them. I guess there was that almost kiss but still...
Sad at what could have been with this drama. I'm still enjoying it but all the underdeveloped story lines and characters is just so off putting. The whole Hae Soo/Won Hee friendship was so WTF and random. I was like "Um, what? when? how? where?"

Date: 2016-10-21 02:44 am (UTC)Yeah..I'm actually ok w. so/soo but it's weird seeing her pine for him since he was into her for so long...i don't understand how she changed.
I know...this drama could have been SOOOOO good if it they put more thought into it..The friendship thing was weird too.. I'm still wondering what is the purpose of Prince #9 in t his drama..like I kinda understood him in the Chinese vers and I know he plays a role in the Korean vers but he seems like such a waste of space in this show.

Date: 2016-10-21 03:05 am (UTC)I liked Prince #9 up until he started plotting with #3. The whole emoji face scene with him was hilarious and his whole thing about Soo being more popular than a Gisaeng was funny. He was good comic relief for awhile. And OMG they need to seriously give us the 411 on Prince #9 and Chae Ryung. Like, what is their connection?!
I almost really hate what they're doing with flashback scenes. They're so misplaced and just don't add much since they feel like an afterthought. Although I did appreciate the flashback with young Ji Mong and Moo, I thought it could have been introduced a bit earlier. Or, actually, scratch that, I wish they would have given us another flashback of young Ji Mong and Moo to show their bond and friendship. It would have given us more insight about why Ji Mong was so loyal to Moo (besides the fact that he's also abiding to the King's orders).
The sudden bond between Hae Soo and Baek Ah was random, too, but I was able to accept it because of the flashback...albeit again, horribly misplaced.
WOMP.

Date: 2016-10-21 03:43 am (UTC)The emoji thing was cute.. I think the plotting thing was kind of unavoidable since base on the Chinese vers. he's not going to be on So's side that's for sure. As for prince #9...and Chae Ryung, if they go the Chinese route, I THINK I know their connection and what the drama is going for.
They probably are an afterthought..I wouldn't be surprised. The flashback with ji mong and moo was nice. So as a kid was soo cute. I feel you...showing pieces of their friendship would be nice.
It was...I think it's because in the Chinese vers., Iu's character and Prince #13 were really good friends and since the episode where Lady Hae dying had Baek ah confronting Hae soo and then the next episode had him trying to do his best to stop the force marriage, they basically had to shove a scene in there to show how they "bond".

Date: 2016-10-21 11:17 pm (UTC)Man, I'm so sad about Moo. He was so nice and just a big old teddy bear.
I only loosely watched the Chinese version while my mom was watching, so, no spoilers about Chae Ryung! I do remember though that Chae Ryung's Chinese equivalent eventually dies I think?? 4th prince has her killed because she did something wrong? Can't remember exactly.
Is Baek Ah's character's Chinese equivalent the one who got exiled for awhile and then his wife drowned herself? I remember they said they combined two princes in the Korean version. Can't remember which.

Date: 2016-10-22 02:32 am (UTC)I feel bad for him too...it was rather unfortunate and it's sad that he had to die like that too.
Yeah...you are correct about that.. If I remember correctly the in the Chinese vers. she was trying to create a rift between the couple and I forgot what else she did.. I just wondering how they would kill her in the Korean version since there's no way they will kill her the same way in the Chinese vers. The way she died in the Chinese vers was gruesome...idk how the Korean audience would react to if they killed Chae Ryung the same way like in the Chinese vers. Prince #9 is most likely gonna die as well...there's no way around it.
Yes...Baek Ah would be based on that guy who got exiled. Idk what other prince he would be based on.

Date: 2016-10-22 04:01 am (UTC)This just got me thinking back to the Chinese version and I wish the Korean version added the scene where the other slaves take Haesoo's bracelet or whatever. Don't know why that scene stuck out to me so much in the Chinese version. It just made 8th prince and her relationship that much more sad.
I should probably stop comparing. Haha.

Date: 2016-10-22 04:29 am (UTC)Ah...I haven't seen all the episodes of the Chinese version, I have watched a few episodes here and there though.
Maybe...I just hope they don't screw up the ending for the Korean vers.

Date: 2016-10-22 05:51 pm (UTC)I know...I'm praying for a decent ending...like apparently it's suppose to be a happy one but idk... It was also advertise that this is suppose to be sadder than the Chinese vers but we shall see how it works.
