Hani and Heechul Bid Farewell to "Weekly Idol" as Jung Hyung Don Confirms His Return as Co-host

According to several sources on September 13th it was confirmed that Jung Hyung Don will be making his return to "signature" program MBC Every 1 "Weekly Idol".
FNC, Jung Hyung Don's agency has stated that his schedules are being carefully organized. In addition, Jung Hyung Don has not confirmed his official return to Infinite Challenge. In November of last year, Jung Hyung Don went on a hiatus from his activities/schedule on TV as his anxiety disorder was worsening.
After avoiding the public eye, Jung Hyung Don made a surprise cameo September 10th on Infinite Challenge's Infinity Boss which shocked many fans.
His first episode back will be aired on October 5.

Long time ago shows like X-Man , Sponge, Happy Time Baby Face Club, Love Letter, Six Heroines, Star Golden Bell, etc there's actually a lot haha, these shows are old 🐥🐓

i'm really glad doni is returning. weekly idol just hasn't been the same since he left. i was kinda annoyed that heechul kept jumping when red velvet were doing covers of other kpop songs (i get that it was a competition but it was still annoying). i wonder who will be the first guest with doni back, maybe a pink?

It was confirmed by her agency in the last day or two. Rumour is they broke up awhile ago and that's why Hani kept being tearful on all those shows she was on, but they didn't want to announce it then because the relationship would have seemed too short-lived. But i don't follow them closely enough to know if there's any truth to it.

Yeah, that would have been too close to when we found out they were a couple anyway. I remember reading some comment about her constant crying on shows and someone was like "she had this odd tomboy personality, and now that she has a boyfriend she's playing the frail/emotional woman card" or smtn. I can't imagine getting all the flack she got around that time and on top of that not even being in a relationship to share those troubles with someone anymore.

Heechul mentioning all those old shows made me nostalgic, it's true that before seems like there were more varieties in which idol went to play games, I used to be obsessed with xman when there were lots of videos of it subbed (thanks to coolsmurf) I used to stay up really late just watching endless clips of that show.
I know is a thing of trends, but trends comeback, so maybe they can be a resurgence of this type of shows again
Happy that Hyungdon it's ok now and that he's taking it easy retaking just one show, not all of them at the same time

I really enjoyed Heechul & Hani on the show so am really sad to see them go, particularly Hani who was so kind-hearted and sweet to everyone.

I'm glad that Doni feels well enough to come back, hope he continues to do well. There've been a few WI episodes I found uncomfortable to watch because he and Defconn were just too much together or went too far, but I have definitely missed him from the show. It will be interesting to see how the show goes, if there's a change in dynamics.

tbh i don't really like the doni coni partnership and enjoyed the hani/heecul replacement because i felt like there was a little less rudeness/grossness from the hosts to the idols (particularly with girl groups) and hani and heechul are hilarious together
but i'll continue to watch like i always have because there's no show quite like weekly idol and i do enjoy all the games, so. hani seems to have dwindled in popularity so i hope she gets something else, she's such a gem :(

have you watched EXID's first episode on weekly idol? I didn't like Doni but then he was so nice and said such nice things to them when they were feeling bad about getting recognition just because of the fancam. I kinda like him a bit more now lol

They're not without their good moments. I remember on that episode in particular, them being really sweet to Solji when she was getting emotional about getting her first paycheck and being recognised after having debuted so long ago. They had some fun jokes with Mint from Tiny-G about bowing to her because she was rich. But they play up the lecherous uncle fan too much for my liking (like a lot of k-variety of course), and the way they act in certain situations doesn't make me more comfortable with that. Having an actual woman hosting and having a man who plays a more enthusiastic personality than uncle fan personality kind of balanced it out and made it more bearable.

They're not like Jun Hyun Moo who I just like, genuinely really hate, but I still side eye them often, particularly with girl groups.
