[ARTICLE] Jay Park, Zico, Mino & Kang Seungyoon chosen as Korean representatives in a collaboration music show
“The Collaboration” is a music talent program that will start airing this upcoming June 30 on SBS MTV. On the 24th anniversary of Korea and China’s diplomatic relations, SBS Media Net and YG Entertainment joined hands with China’s biggest video platform, Ten Cents, which will be displayed in this music show. There will be a Korean and a Chinese team of musicians who will show a new collaboration stage in each episode of the program.
The Korean representatives have been decided as the head of AOMG, Park Jaebeom, Block B’s leader Zico and Winner’s Song Minho and Kang Seungyoon. The Chinese artists representatives will be the actor and singer Xue Zhiqian who participated in the Chinese drama ‘The Queen of SOP’ in 2015, Hu Xia who sang the theme song for the movie ‘You Ate The Apple Of My Eye’, Wang Yue-xin who starred in ‘Heirs from the stars’ and the vocalist of the indie band Discovery, who also studied abroad in the United States, Wu Chun. The MCs will be Zhang Yuan who is also having activities in Korean broadcasts and Wu Xin of Honam TV’s ‘Happy Camp’.
The collaboration stage will be the four Korean and Chinese teams paired up competing against each other. In episode 1, the artists will have an individual performance, and episode 10, the last one, will be broadcasted live. From episode 2 to episode 9 the collaboration partners will be decided through online voting and the #1 song of all of the episodes will be decided through on-site voting. The #1 song will automatically advance to the live broadcast stage of episode 10 and in episode 10 the final #1 song will be chosen through the total of both on-site voting and online voting.
PD Kim Youngseok said “Working on a song together to make one new song simply surpasses singing a song together. I am looking forward to Korea and China’s friendly harmony and emotional stages through the contest.”
