According to some sources in the industry, the five-membered group 4minute is to disband after seven years of activity.
Cube Entertainment has renewed its contract with HyunA and is also negotiating renewal with some of the other members. Those who are not renewing plan to seek new agencies.
One industry associate claims that each member has a different idea of their future path whether it be singing or acting, and after several months of discussion, they have decided that it was difficult to keep the group togehter.

i got into 4minute during the height of my kpop craze. i still remember how omona used to tease their group name for being grammatically incorrect but look at how far they had come. it just seems not that long ago when they dropped Hot Issue. that was really catchy and the Muzik was next and it was my jam for the longest time. the part when Jiyoon finally took off her sunglasses during the debut stage...i remember thinking how neat that was.

end of an era indeed

At least they left us a great mini album as their last release. Hate was kind of a mess but all the other songs on that mini were so good.

This is really sad. I'm glad Hyuna gets to continue her solo career but 4Minute had some good music. I can't decide between Mirror Mirror and Volume Up for favorite single.

The future of Kpop isn't looking so bright for me. I can't even bother to care about the newer groups, not that I was a fan of the groups that are breaking apart either, but at least they were familiar. :p

4minute :( some of their songs were super incredible, and Mirror Mirror and Volume Up were underrated classics. Their stage presence was lacking but they all genuinely loved eachother and it was really nice to see. Uuuugh death of 2009 girl groups :(

the song and performance that made me notice them. I'm not a fan, but they put out great performances and jams.

Wow, so they really disbanded? Song Jihyo is gonna be so disappointed, Hot Issue is her jam.
