According to some sources in the industry, the five-membered group 4minute is to disband after seven years of activity.
Cube Entertainment has renewed its contract with HyunA and is also negotiating renewal with some of the other members. Those who are not renewing plan to seek new agencies.
One industry associate claims that each member has a different idea of their future path whether it be singing or acting, and after several months of discussion, they have decided that it was difficult to keep the group togehter.

Honestly I don't think there is much of career for other 4minute girls than Hyuna outside 4minute, so them leaving and trying to strike up on their own seems kinda stupid, but then again maybe Cuba doesn't want to sign them and just wants to keep Hyuna. All these awesome 2nd generation girl groups disbanding is really sad though as 3rd generation is kinda blah compared to them.

Man I really didnt like 4minute at all for the vast majority of their career but I definitely agree that if these shitty boy groups can survive then all these girl groups shouldnt have to die.

It sucks in that regard for sure, it's just systematically harder for girl groups when it shouldnt be.

4minute was one of the first groups I listened to when I got into kpop. I loved all of their older 2009-2010; "I my me mine" will forever remain one of my favorite girl power anthems!

Sucks to see this happening but this is probably for the best as cube would probably continue to not do shit with them if they stuck together
