I don't really understand why people are blaming Starship when it seems like he kind of silently went into the enlistment on his own. Maybe he didn't want it to be a big deal? Also saying they dropped the ball with him why because he doesn't have a super big catalog of music? He gave us a handful of bangers, got to work with BUMKEY and he's on Starship X that gives their artists way more control. He probably is like most R&B singers and is REALLY picky about the music he puts out.

He's doin alright sucks we didn't get an album but he's still young.

I do think that he wanted to go quietly but because he really wasn't doing much with his music. Like I remember around the end of the summer he got tipsy and posted on IG that he was gonna release his music without Starship's permission and Dasom and Gigo were like, "don't do that." I think Jooyoung wanted to release so much more music and Starship just wouldn't let him. Honestly the Starship X artists don't get a lot of freedom to just make music and release it, imo. Jooyoung was already an underground artist before Starship so I imagine that he joined an official company so that he can reach more people with his music but besides Erase, Starship's promos are all lack luster. And now that he's in the army, that's a two year hiatus. Yeah he has his whole career ahead of him but, right now is the hip-hop/rnb trend.

I don't remember that so I'm not going to say it didn't happen but that's really surprising. I know Junggio and Mad Clown for SURE have had a lot of freedom to do as they wanted with their music and their sound so that's a little surprising to me honestly. I've never heard any bad about starship x because the management isn't handled exactly the same, but maybe starship has it's claws in at least Jooyoung more than they let on. That actually wouldn't surprise me given that he's the only good looking person on Starship x so you might be right!

I dunno I just think he hasn't really done that bad for himself given how long he's been on starship but! You might be right and if that's the case I for sure won't stand up for the management haha. He just gives me the same picky vibes I get from Crush and Zion.T about their music.

I just that think that Jooyoung went into Starship with a lot of buzz that his general inactivity has muted. MadClown will release an album and he'll do the basic promo package: music shows, variety, special clips/1thek interviews. Jooyoung released WET and didn't really get any of that (I'm sure he wouldn't have been able to promote on music shows but not even a Qmentary or #ashtag interview on 1thek's channel?) Him going to the army right now is nobody's fault and he does say that he wants to get it out the way. I'm not blaming Starship for that. I just think that from when he came in till now, Starship hasn't done as much as they could have. Especially in comparison to Starship's other artists.

Thanks for your informative comments! I kinda started wondering if his contract clause that enlistment "pauses" his contract, like SM is rumoured to. To make it more clear, I mean it like for example he has 1 year left in his contract. While normally it would expire in late 2016, enlistment sorta postpones that expiration and contract will be valid till 2018 instead.

I mean, I always think it's smart to get the service over with as long as your younger, but still ... as everyone says, he would have deserved at least one album while under Starship.
