Do you love hearing the original versions of songs - before they're polished and remixed by label producers? Well, BTS fans have just made a fantastic discovery.
We received a tip that there was another version of BTS's "Boy in Luv" - revealed through the choreography video of a group of dancers performing an earlier draft of the slick moves the song is known for. This choreography video was uploaded on December 18, 2013, whereas the final music video for the song was released February 11, 2014 and there are a lot of differences between the two versions.
From our first listen, the original "Boy In Luv" had a much edgier feel, with more of Rap Monster's husky voice and a louder chorus. The choreography matches this original version as well - with even more "tough guy" moves than the original, if that's possible.
You can tell that the song being used is a demo from the random voice that appears periodically (sort of like an audio watermark) - added to keep the song from being leaked early. But, as long as you don't let it shock you you can still enjoy this new (old?) version of "Boy in Luv"!
the video is unlisted on youtube, i wonder how BTS fans found this? i also love GRV, the power in their dances from other performances is great. also, that bridge!!
update: video is now private

Date: 2015-12-11 11:29 pm (UTC)Definitely like the final version of the choreo, but I have to ask now since you can definitely see elements of the final version in this demo. How does credit for choreography work? Im just wondering if these guys ever got acknowledged for the choreo, presuming they were the ones that created it.

Date: 2015-12-11 11:50 pm (UTC)this is definitely a 'demo' version of the song. i really like the bridge and the little dance part that goes with it. it's interesting to see the original idea and what is still used in the final version of the song.

Date: 2015-12-12 12:37 am (UTC)that bridge though - the bridge in the final ver is one of the things that stops me from listening to this song, because it doesn't fit and i just don't like it. the one here is far superior and now i'm sad at what could have been lol

Date: 2015-12-12 12:23 pm (UTC)But this ver would have been 10 times more harder to do for music shows, i don't think they would be able to sing live while dancing this, although the version they promoted was exhausting enough xD
