Do you love hearing the original versions of songs - before they're polished and remixed by label producers? Well, BTS fans have just made a fantastic discovery.

We received a tip that there was another version of BTS's "Boy in Luv" - revealed through the choreography video of a group of dancers performing an earlier draft of the slick moves the song is known for. This choreography video was uploaded on December 18, 2013, whereas the final music video for the song was released February 11, 2014 and there are a lot of differences between the two versions.

From our first listen, the original "Boy In Luv" had a much edgier feel, with more of Rap Monster's husky voice and a louder chorus. The choreography matches this original version as well - with even more "tough guy" moves than the original, if that's possible.

You can tell that the song being used is a demo from the random voice that appears periodically (sort of like an audio watermark) - added to keep the song from being leaked early. But, as long as you don't let it shock you you can still enjoy this new (old?) version of "Boy in Luv"!

the video is unlisted on youtube, i wonder how BTS fans found this? i also love GRV, the power in their dances from other performances is great. also, that bridge!!

update: video is now private

I definitely prefer the final version of the song if only for that iconic bridge haha. The hook and chorus choreo here don't seem to match the song tbh but everything else was great.

I like the bridge part here a bit better then the final version - idk why but the combo of jungkook(?) and rapmons voice sounds pretty good.

Definitely like the final version of the choreo, but I have to ask now since you can definitely see elements of the final version in this demo. How does credit for choreography work? Im just wondering if these guys ever got acknowledged for the choreo, presuming they were the ones that created it.

This is nifty, feels like a view into behind the scenes stuff. But what is it exactly? Is this a group the choreographer for BTS works with and makes the dance with before teaching it to Bangtan?

one of the choreographers of this crew, daniel lim if i'm not mistaken, works/has worked with bangtan's choreographer.

i'm pretty sure bam martin is one of the dancers. i love that guy he is amazing! GRV are a great crew.
this is definitely a 'demo' version of the song. i really like the bridge and the little dance part that goes with it. it's interesting to see the original idea and what is still used in the final version of the song.

I really really like this. As much as the final product tbh. I think they're different enough to appeal to me individually.

Besides that extra bridge around the three minute mark, I'm happier with the final version compared to this. This one had a few harder hitting moves, but also a bunch that don't fit with the song. That little shuffle at "내 맘이 널 놓치기 전에" made me giggle.

I like the changes made to this choreo. This original is way intense.
Professional dancers make all my fave Kpop dancers look not so good. Lol :(

i don't really like the choreo for the chorus in the final ver., but i think i may like it a tad more than the chorus here lol the shuffle forward move looks almost cute
that bridge though - the bridge in the final ver is one of the things that stops me from listening to this song, because it doesn't fit and i just don't like it. the one here is far superior and now i'm sad at what could have been lol

I really like the choreography for the bridge in this version but overall I prefer the final, especially the chorus choreography and bridge.

Not a single part of this is as good as the real version.

'Say what you want' part was better, but the rest of the chorus choreo is meh.

Some parts were better but I'm confident bangtan can dance this. Danger and Dope, in my untrained eyes, are far more complicated.

That was cool and damn I'm having cramps just by watching them dance. But overall yeah I also think I still like the final version better.

This one is really amazing, there are some parts that I don't really like but overall both the song and the choreo are great.
But this ver would have been 10 times more harder to do for music shows, i don't think they would be able to sing live while dancing this, although the version they promoted was exhausting enough xD
