this is my first time seeing the choreo since i missed their mama stage and ... i dont really like it much? idk it's different than i was expecting i guess.
I feel like after dope they set the bar too high in their choreo lol - but the camera angles didn't really show their dancing so I can't wait for their dance practice.
I love that beginning pose a lot though (better seen at MAMA).
I figured that since they will be performing Butterfly for comeback stages, will they then follow-up with Crow-Tit?????!!!!! Hmm hmmm... Because I honestly want that song to be performed!
I know I shouldn't be that way, but it annoys me that (probably) TTS or PSY(?) will get the #1, riding solely on the popularity, not the song quality :(
They can and do sing live, but they tend to use heavy backing vocals (understandable given their choreos).
Jungkook has always been super stable and basically carried the group (along with the rappers) in their rookie days. Jin, Jimin and V have improved a lot since then. Jin is very consistent these days, but it helps that he tends to sing during the choreo lulls. Jimin tends to run out of breath and doesn't always do his high notes live, but he does pull them off a lot of the time. V tends to sound more "growly" live. Rapper-line are pretty much word for word unless they flub a line, but they know to go easy on the yelling so they don't strain their voices.
Omg where did you hear about jimin &jhope choreographing? That maybe explains the slight dip in quality of the overall choreo lol. I was watching parts of their docent v app live today and jungkook was talking abt how they discussed and worked again and again on the choreo just to achieve satisfactory results..
someone was telling me it's true and it was mentioned in the same v app broadcast (i cant wait for it get subs so i can confirm), now im ready to cry. apparently the jacket move was them imitating a butterfly taking off and spreading its wings, and the choreo drew a lot of inspiration from modern dancing (my brain screaming jimin)
I thought seeing live stages will change my feels about it but still...this is my least fav BTS title song. I looooved their debut songs like We are bulletproof and No more dream. Lately they sound very...pop? Like 'Run' could be any other kpop band's debut song and barely anyone would bat a lash tbh...And I see no quality here. It's pretty bland? Am I the only one?
I personally love run and it's one of my new faves but I can see where you're coming from with them sounding more pop. I really miss their beginning sound as well - n.o is my top fave from them. I'm like split lol, part of me is like I wish they'd go back to that sound but the other half of me sees it as them growing as a group musical wise, which makes me proud. (Plus vocal line gets to shine more in songs like this lol)
As long as we get more hard hitting songs like baebsae and ma city on their albums I'm good i guess xD
I guess there's shit load of groups out there who have or had at debut time more hard hitting/hh songs (or at least it's what they aimed for), at some point it was even hard to see something else on music shows so among bgs. I think this more pop sound, but really specific one, matched with "aesthetic, youth angst" concept ironicaly helped them to stand out. Also let's not pretend like they did not need (kinda stil need) the more public recognition/ break out hit. With the frequency of their comebacks it more than sure that they will do debut days like releases in future
i've always loved their older songs because of what they conveyed, but i hate those try-hard hep hap concepts and i hope they never go back to that. i think now they manage to balance their sound and show off their vocal line (i need u) but also rap line (dope). maybe they can do a double title in the future on the same note.
Although I do love their old stuff, this era has been my absolute favorite. I think they've found their sound and like someone said above, they've found how to balance their rappers and vocal line. I think this song is so complex though so I can't agree on it being simple and bland. I actually think that BTS, especially as of late, have been putting out music with the most quality for idol groups. But to each their own I suppose.
With that said, I have to say I absolutely hate this choreography. I loved this song from the get go but after watching the performances, it makes me hate the song. I'm not sure what it is but the choreography really kills the song for me. It makes me really sad and I'm just going to avoid any future performances to preserve my love for this song. haha
Lmao i remember the amount of NO's i screamed when i saw his new hair -_- But i think im just so far down the jimin black hole, i still find him cuddly and attractive ;; (http://ic.pics.livejournal.com/citrine047/25930449/86401/86401_original.jpg)
I too find the choreo this time a little lacking on the power and wow factor, but overall im still satisfied. They were intense af, and still brought on their a game. bangtan talked about this choreo on their latest v app broadcast and apparently they deliberately forego on the powerful, snappy choreo and shifted towards intricate and tender movements
great as always. they are amazing live. it's so funny how serious and focused they are on stage compared to off stage lmao
idk about the run choreo tho. it's a little bit of a let down for me tbh... i mean they still look great but i was expecting more. i do love the part where they lower their jackets.

LOL @ KBS trying to pretend this choreography isn't the Ass Dance. I see those strategic zooms. But maybe it's for the best. Whenever I see their butt muscles flexing, I just laugh and laugh. Not the desired effect, methinks.
I like Run a lot, even though it's more pop than what I really want from them. The rest of the album helps to allay my fear that they'll be going for a more mainstream kpop sound in the future a bit. Songs like Whalien 52, Goyeob still sound very old Bangtan. So, yeah, let the public have their little bop.
After Never Mind, Baebsae is my favorite track on the album. I hope they choose it if there's a followup.
If this was a result of J-hope and Jimin slowly expanding into creating choreo, then I'm happy. The choreo is rough, but I can see a story is being told. Unfortunately, both times it has been shown, the cameras were everywhere but where they needed to be. I catch glimpses of things, like Hobi sweeping his leg out and Jin jumping over it like an obstacle trying to make you stumble. I see them slowly open their hands to reveal what is probably a butterfly. I see them running while trying to convey emotions.
Clearly, they are trying to convey something. The issue is that it's not smooth enough, nor coherant enough to be considered top quality choreograpy. It's weak compared to alot, if not all of the cb choreos. I highly HIGHLY doubt their normal choreographer did this. If he did, then it's time to let that man rest and refresh himself, because this is so different from his norm with BTS. But if people are correct in saying it's Hobi and Jimin, then this is fine. It's not impressive, but it's more members of BTS taking more control over their artistry and expanding their personal skills which will benefit them in the future.
It also means Big Hit is even more amazing and intelligent than I already gave them credit for, and I couldn't be happier that they formed BTS. They are trying to create a group with staying power, because a group that can create their own music, choreo, and album vision is a group which can go beyond the standard which currently exists.
i agree w/ everything, and i also have a huge feeling this isnt son seongdeuk's work. also apparently the intricate, story telling movements drew inspiration from modern dance (looks at jimin). i think they still need polishing with the execution cos the rest of BTS still have trouble executing the kind of moves jhope comes up with
