i didn't about this before now. has it been an issue long? because the album has been out for more than half a year.
that's a good apology on his behalf. i keep saying this but out of all ~problematic faves, he's the one i trust to want to learn from his mistakes the most because he's always given the impression that he's willing to educate himself and is open to it idk

I'm kind of scratching my head at the idea of using a quote being considered plagiarism honestly LOL. I listen to so many artists that frequently use literary quotes and movie quotes and pop culture quotes in their lyrics, why is that not considered plagiarism but this is? Especially if it's just a quote off twitter lmao. Oh well.

Yeah, I don't think it was actually (technically) plagiarism, but in this case just apologizing kept the issue from getting bigger. He scored some points and made the naver front page. He'd have lost respect if he had stood on his right.

he'll apologise for two things and suddenly he's always owning up to everything. he can make the same "mistake" multiple times and still be sew smart because he's good at riddles. that shit is tired.

i assume you're referring to the comments made above. where do you see people in this post defending anything he has said in the past? he got dragged for it left and right and rightfully so, by both the fans and everybody else who had something to say about it. the fast majority called him out on his actions and they've always been doing that.

the fact that he owns up to a mistake he makes doesn't mean people have forgotten about what he's done before. but actually showing remorse for things he's says and owning up to whatever mistake he makes like this one shows to me that he understand what he did wrong (and is at least willing to learn from that mistake). and that can't be said for the fast majority of idols who've pulled the same shit and never issued any form of apology. does it change the damage that has already been done? no. but i'm not going to sit here and demonize the guy for the rest of his career over comments he's made in the past. it does not change the fact that i was hurt by his comment and it doesn't mean i forgot.

and he does own up to stuff (not everything obviously) but people conveniently turn a blind eye when the behavior doesn't fit the image they have of that person.

he's problematic fave for a reason. Problematic, but I still like him, and I hope he learns in the future. Being the same age as him probably made me more empathetic towards him, because I'm still making these mistakes too and in the process of trying to unlearn problematic behaviours. Sometimes people forget we're only 21.

However, while these two are just similarly worded, the lines in his rap for "U" are copied word for word, causing controversy and anger from the original tweeters who are known for tweeting thoughtful words."

Funny. That's not the way to go, they should be careful when 'taking inspiration' from the writings of others.
