Rap Mon apologized for using the quote "I'll be your underline, because you're important" in his lyrics for 'U' without crediting the original author of the quote.
1. [+4,747, -502] It's not easy to speak with the original author like that but I'm glad he's taking responsibility for what he's done and apologizing like this. I hope he understands the criticisms for his mistakes and takes this as a growing opportunity.. ㅜㅜ
2. [+4,433, -308] I don't know who he is but this is how you properly apologize
3. [+3,695, -336] Of course it's not right to shield him and blindly defend him in matters like this but I also don't think it's right to attack him as a human being...
4. [+2,807, -126] Plagiarism is plagiarism and it's nothing to shield but out of all the apologies I've seen, his has been the fastest and cleanest of all. I hope he's more careful in the future.
5. [+833, -43] It's not like he did something good but it doesn't seem like it was intentional either.. it's good that he apologized right away.
6. [+810, -39] Better to admit your fault right away than make up excuses
7. [+771, -27] I hope fans don't defend him thinking he apologized and that should be that. He used something without permission and that's his fault. However, he did admit to his fault right away and apologized fast so I hope he focuses on creating better songs in the future~~
8. [+716, -33] Don't hate on him too hard. He's trying hard on Twitter to get in contact with the original author and asking for forgiveness. Everyone makes mistakes, we're all human. Through this, Rap Monster will learn to be a more careful individual.

1. [+218, -14] So he used a quote originally found on Twitter... well, he apologized quickly and efficiently, at least.
2. [+162, -26] He's a good kid. Certainly looks like he knows how to respect the creations of others.
3. [+113, -19] How humble of him

u gotta admit that he's a problematic fave but what's more important is for him to learn, admit and apologise for his mistakes.

Date: 2015-12-02 04:22 pm (UTC)that's a good apology on his behalf. i keep saying this but out of all ~problematic faves, he's the one i trust to want to learn from his mistakes the most because he's always given the impression that he's willing to educate himself and is open to it idk

Date: 2015-12-02 10:44 pm (UTC)he'll apologise for two things and suddenly he's always owning up to everything. he can make the same "mistake" multiple times and still be sew smart because he's good at riddles. that shit is tired.

Date: 2015-12-02 11:42 pm (UTC)the fact that he owns up to a mistake he makes doesn't mean people have forgotten about what he's done before. but actually showing remorse for things he's says and owning up to whatever mistake he makes like this one shows to me that he understand what he did wrong (and is at least willing to learn from that mistake). and that can't be said for the fast majority of idols who've pulled the same shit and never issued any form of apology. does it change the damage that has already been done? no. but i'm not going to sit here and demonize the guy for the rest of his career over comments he's made in the past. it does not change the fact that i was hurt by his comment and it doesn't mean i forgot.
and he does own up to stuff (not everything obviously) but people conveniently turn a blind eye when the behavior doesn't fit the image they have of that person.

Date: 2015-12-03 02:40 am (UTC)With this controversy, other lyrics such as his line in "Hold Me Tight" ("I should've just always lost to you. Why did I always argue?") and J-Hope's line in "Just One Day" ("I'll confess to you and my spotlight will be the moon") have been pointed out to be lines from books and other songs. However, while these two are just similarly worded, the lines in his rap for "U" are copied word for word, causing controversy and anger from the original tweeters who are known for tweeting thoughtful words."
Funny. That's not the way to go, they should be careful when 'taking inspiration' from the writings of others.
