FTISLAND's Lee Hongki promises fans he will quit smoking + footage from his solo showcase

FTISLAND member Lee Hong Ki has vowed to fulfill his promise to quit smoking!

Lee Hong Ki made his debut as a solo artist on November 18 with the release of his album “FM302″ and the music video for his title track “Insensible.” During his November 18 showcase, which was broadcast live over Naver’s V app, Lee Hong Ki mentioned that he had reached the top spot on the list of the most popular online search terms earlier that day.

“Yesterday I said that if I reached the top spot I’d quit smoking, but that was yesterday. I meant that I had to get to the top spot yesterday at that moment,” he jokes, causing his fans to make sounds of protest in response.

“Alright,” he says. “I’ll try to quit smoking starting tomorrow. For real.” The fans in the audience cheer, and he adds, “It seems like it’ll be difficult but I’ll do my absolute best.”

He then jokes, “If my hands are shaking on television, you’ll know that’s a withdrawal symptom.”

Absolutely wonderful! I can't wait to get his album.
I'm proud his quitting smoking, but I hope fans won't be too upset if he doesn't manage it or slips up. I know many smokers and many people who've quit and failed to quit so I'm rooting for him

yeah, i'm always kinda puzzled when someone talks on variety shows about them drinking every day and pride themselves about how much they drink, only for it to be treated as normal or funny.

his drinking habits is alarming on their reality show coming out ft island but members/friends/he were like oh yeah probably drink too much but he sings so well after drinking. but i'm like imagine how he would sound w/o drinking then.

Yeah, it's great that he still sounds good, but his poor body man. But on the other hand, it seems like he still knows how to stop, he didn't drink when they had their tour.

He looked very healthy lately -- with a clean cut minus the nail polish + crazy hair. I really hope he quits those two tbh. I dont want him to look old like Leo DiCaprio by the time he reach middle 30's. :(

I'm always a little surprised by singers who smoke. I mean, your voice is your bread winner, you should be super careful and take care of it better ? I know that some singers do smoke on purpose, to give their voice this husky Bonnie Taylor-ish tone but... Don't mess with your health.
