WINNER to present best rookie awards at Melon Music Awards

YG's boy group WINNER will appear in an end-of-year music award as a compete team, after 10 months of absence from the music scene.

According to music industry insiders on the 2 this month, all the five members of WINNER have confirmed their appearance in 2015 Melon Music Awards (“MMA”), an end-of-year music award to be held on the 7 in the evening at Olympic Gymnastics Hall located in Seoul.

Star News confirmed that WINNER will appear in MMA as a prize presenter. WINNER was selected as the presenter, as they had received the rookie award at last year’s MMA. Fans are showing growing interest in WINNER’s appearance in MMA for this year.


It is the first time for WINNER to appear in music awards as a complete team in 10 months since their appearance in Gaon Chart K-pop Awards that was held at the end of January this year. WINNER received the rookie’s award at that music awards, too.

Notably, as there have been many hints on WINNER’s comeback recently, WINNER’s appearance in the awards will draw all the more attention.

In early this month, WINNER shot photography for the jacket of their new songs and new album, in Britain. They also shot two music videos in Sweden recently. WINNER will shoot two more music videos in November in Korea, to present at least four videos for their new album. All these show that WINNER’s comeback is not that far away.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG, Hyuk-O band, Apink, and San-E are currently included in the list of performers for the 2015 Melon Music Awards.

First of all this has nothing to do with YG, last year Lim Kim, the previous winner of this award was there to present it to Winner. Second of all stop it with this "Seventeen deserves the award" crap when what you really want to say is "they deserve it more than iKON".

I don't see in what universe iKON with their achievement, hard work and hell they've been through doesn't deserve this award as much as any other group.

tbqh, i'd rather see gfriend walk away with this award. the fact that they exploded coming from such a small label is like the definition of powerhouse underdog and it's always the best seeing those types win. plus their tracks have been pretty solid, their choreography is fresh, and their agency has done a great job making them present without shoving them down our throats.

iKON will be ok if they dont snatch this one up. their debut was wack as hell so i'd rather see them win with something better than what they've given us so far.
