Yang Hyun Suk, the CEO of YG Entertainment, showed interest in Block B‘s Zico.
On October 3, iKON held its debut concert “SHOWTIME.” After the concert, iKON held a press conference. Yang Hyun Suk was also present at the press conference.
iKON member Bobby spoke about the idol diss rap that he had written in the past. He said, “I’m also an idol, and iKON is an idol group.” He added, “I dissed idols, but I wasn’t dissing the idol groups. I wanted to say it to the people who were in charge of rapping in each group, ‘Let’s all do well, otherwise idol rappers will be looked down on.”
During the process, Yang Hyun Suk asked that there be no bias against idol group rappers, and picked Zico as the example.
Yang Hyun Suk said, “I watched ‘Show Me the Money’ and I got a second look at Zico. We met up recently. I was really interested in him. So we talked a lot.”
He then added, “I’m not sure why there’s a bias against idol rappers. I hope BIGBANG and iKON get recognized bot under and over. I think Bobby wrote the lyrics asking for bias against idols being produced under companies to be broken. I don’t think it was a rap to diss all idols.”
Meanwhile, iKON is looking forward to its “DEBUT FULL ALBUM” on November 2.

YG's bit was unneeded tbh (is zico going to work with yg artists now(?), also idg why he never mentioned winner when he said 'i hope bigbang and ikon get recognised both under and over' since mino is an idol rapper, unless he just means the groups genre in which case in understand why he didnt include them but who knows what that man is on abt

Zico has talent...sometimes and when he's not straight up biting other (black) people and I stan a lot of YG's musical output but no, YG does not need another G Dragon.
That all being said...I want some new Block B Bastarz, Zero for Conduct & Sue Me are bangers.
