Yunho & Jaejoong FINALLY cross paths today

Fans anticipated and hopeful for this to happen.

TVXQ's Yunho and JYJ's Jaejoong have finally crossed paths in public today at "13th Ground Forces Festival Opening Ceremony" where Yunho, wearing a red uniform serves as the host and Jaejoong, in black, gives a live performance.

Fans on the scene have shared accounts, aside from fantaken photos, that Yunho is smiling and clapping during Jaejoong's performance. Although there are no direct interactions between the two, fans are overwhelmed to have seen the two on the same stage and acknowledge the presence of each other.

They comment, "It took 6 years to have these two in one photo.","This moment will go down the memory lane.","I hope this is the start of something new.","This makes me so happy." and so on.

Jaejoong looks so good, I had my doubts initially since he always likes to be perfectly styled. I was hoping fans wouldn't make it uncomfortable for the both of them but those damn banners are so cringeworthy. Yunho looks great too. I hope both have fun.

Why, WHY, do some "fans" think it's okay to bring those fucking banners everywhere these guys go?
They're always there at concerts and other performances.
Maybe put that amount of dedication into you own relationships and you won't seem so sad.

I was wondering why I was seeing so much Yunjae when I searched for Junsu news on Twitter. I can't believe someone brought a Yunjae banner to a military festival. So much secondhand embarrassment rn. Just imagine the levels of crazy that would be reached if there'd be an actual reunion.

One of them could rescue a child from a burning building or cure cancer or bring about world peace and there would still be some desperate fool going "but what does it mean for Yunjae?" and "Do you think SM are pissed off?"

I know dealing with people who have essentially invented a conspiracy theory about your own life and can't be convinced otherwise pretty much goes with the territory for idols or anyone with a fannish following and that they only represent a tiny fraction of the audience, but it has to be annoying to be perpetually regarded as half a person whose only worth lies in propping up someone else's fantasy. I see people on tumblr today going "I'm sure they saw the banner - they must be soooo happy" - how does someone convince themselves of that? In their hearts, they must know that if either of them actually clocked those banners, all they're likely thinking is that they'll never get rid of these desperate weirdos, even in the army.

I'm fannish. I have been for years, across all sorts of fandoms. I read fic and there's piles of it on my computer. I have never even come close to regarding any of it as actually real and in a million years I wouldn't allude to it in the presence of any of the people portrayed in those fics. There's a small hardcore in every RL-based fandom who are so genuinely out there, who do the full tinhat "they're sending us secret messages through their choice of sweater and coffee drink". I do wonder what happens to them when their ship is genuinely dead in the water and the fandom is no longer active and they don't have their fellow hardcore shippers to reinforce the delusion. I guarantee that today, there are people who aren't content with writing a bit of barrack-room slash to get it out of their systems - they think it's actually happening right now.

I'm sayin though, alot of people are in here with their noses up, like they weren't in the last post scoffing at the idea of Yunho and Jae even being in the same area (since they were in different divisions). But now a post comes out with them in the same area, and folk are like " Well they're being professional, and they seem so awkward..."

Sir and madam, I don't care how you feel about YunJae, but don't act like they weren't best friends way back when. Fans aren't just making this up. You don't have to shit on everything.
